They just said at CES that the PS4 has sold 4.2 million worldwide. And that's before it's even out in Japan. Sweet Jesus.

4.2 million sold. Wowie. -
I swear you said that before but I've never had a problem with MotionJoy. :p

Well you said it yourself, most people will buy into new technology. Which is why the Wii U should have given them the new technology they wanted.
-
I also don't really understand what you're getting at when you say this: The only way one could get 'played' in this scenario is if they were a hardcore Nintendo fanboy unwilling to try any other franchise other than GTA. Really, the chances are that if you bought a PS3 or 360 for GTA, there'd be plenty more games that you'd also be interested in. The PS3 has a huge library of titles and most new games are still being released on it. :p you commented on the exact same thing which I only just saw after I hit reply. Yeah, bit of a ridiculous comment really.

The main point is Pestneb, if you and everyone else was happy with the current power/graphics/non-HD status of the existing consoles, there would simply be no point in them ever making new consoles. If power never needed to be improved to satisfy consumers, there would simply never be a need for a new console. There's no excuse why OS couldn't be updated to accomodate new peripherals just like PC with drivers. The blunt truth is that most people do want a more powerful and upgraded system and it isn't because companies have brainwashed them to. It's the same reason why people want a new iPhone or smartphone as opposed to sticking with a Nokia 3310. Technology will always improve, and most people want it to.

I also bagged me a Wii U recently when it dropped to £200 with Zelda WW included. But to say people buying the PS4 now are suckers is madness. People are buying that badboy because they know it will be their main game player for the next 6-7 years. And given it's already priced at a pretty attractive £350, it's not like it's going to go so much cheaper any time soon. -
ReZ posted his animal image, he was a kiwi crush green dolphin. I want to know if the penguins actually exist or not too. I'm not a penguin.

Are you for real - are you actually suggesting that long-term third party support for PS4/XB1 isn't a foregone conclusion? -

Yeah..... I'd hardly say people are suckers for buying a console that will actually receive third party support as opposed to one that won't. -
Yeah it says in the initial post that unless stated, the items are one use. Last night I was successful and I was made to feel pretty 'good'. Kinda funny really.

I've had a go at spec'ing a PC for you, I pretty much agree with Bard's suggestions, although I've opted for a few cheaper options to bring the price down (which still sits a little above your budget, but everything I've put here I couldn't really trim any more). This would be a really nice machine capable of running all games out now on very high: Case: AvP Defender 400 K2 USB 3.0 Mid Tower Case with 1x LED for PC - Black/Red (Amazon) £28.11

I think it's a good idea to wait for this one. FFXIII-2 dropped in price dramatically after just a month or so (to something like half price), and then it was below £10 after not much longer.

So is anyone actually a penguin or can we put that down to flavour?

That's a pretty damming poll for the X1 considering GameFAQs' userbase is largely American. Also pretty tragic for Nintendo considering Nintendo games and characters often top their 'best ever' polls. People there hold Nintendo games and characters close to their hearts, so it's really telling that people just don't want the Wii U as a console. -
It'll be cool to see how it runs (hopefully close to a very high end PC), the PS3 version that I played a little of back when it was in beta was a bit shabby, but a game of that scale was always going to be a challenge for an old system.

It's a 42 inch, not seen it in the flesh yet but it looks pretty gorgeous (200Hz too for low input lag for gaming). Not 3D though but I've never really bought into that. My old Toshiba Regza 32 inch is about 7 years old, bought at a time when HDTVs were still not hugely adopted, and many including this one were just HD Ready. The funny thing is that the old TV has a bezel that's several inches thick at each end, so this sub-cm bezel Bravia won't actually be too much bigger in total size (but a bigger screen). Can't wait for it to come. Shame the earliest Saturday delivery from John Lewis is 2 weeks time.

Sony KDL42W653 Not come yet, but when it does...oh yeah.

I'd like to play

Haha yeah, another tip for that - turn off random battles and use 4 ninjas again to take out the boss on the top floor. A lot of story to be found in there as well as good loot and and a job class.

Yeah, it isn't just power (although that is a major factor). It's Nintendo's general inability to modernise and grasp what customers really want. That feeling reverberates; devs have no confidence, consumers have no confidence, console fails. -
A team of ninjas doing utsusemi is an easy way to rock those dragons (did it at L52)

Time Mage is worth maxing for hasten world, it really makes life easier. Thief is good to max for stealing and 4 x 9999 with Godspeed Strike as is Ninja for Dual Wield. Spiritmaster is top for safety buffs as is Performer to always stay in positive BP. Freelancer is brill for nearly everyone for Mimic and Dark Knight's rage is ridiculously good for damage dealing (combine with Spell Fencer's drain on your weapon to heal as you hit too). Vampire and Swordmaster aren't too shabby either.

A word on job levelling, I wouldn't bother doing it for most jobs for each character early game, later on you'll get far more JP as well as an accessory that can double EXP and JP. I can basically get any job from 1 to 14 in maybe half an hour.
-
A hint to everyone, Abilink with Debug Mode if you can (under config). You'll get a theoreritcal L14 in every job. Early game set your Debug Abilinked character to Monk with secondary moveset as Freelancer. Now brave lots with that character up to a maximum of -3 (better to default first to build up positive BP) and use the monk skill Pressure Point as your first move, then with your remaining braved moves use the freelancer skill mimic. The use of Mimic will let you use Pressure Point again and again, but without costing you an additional BP each time mimic is used. Mimic is incredibly useful like that. Pressure Point will let you rack up a lot of damage easily early game.
