  1. Yes, a console is only as good as the games. But at the same time you can judge the actual console itself from a hardware/OS/networking point of view. That's what most people here are criticising and not the quality of Nintendo games. In this case the console itself being substandard has had a major impact on it getting good games, making the point pretty relevant. Nintendo are clearly in dire straits, so people comparing it to the stronger competition in terms of 'they should do this thing to compete' is entirely reasonable. You take Nintendo criticisms far too personally... Perhaps saying you were getting heated was wrong. More like downright rude.
  2. Then under what criteria is the console itself good? I am saying the software can be good, but the hardware and OS/networking associated with the console is duff. No need to get heated over it.
  3. Again, one more time. Bad console =/= bad software. Muse upon it a while.
  4. What would it take for you to say we could call it a bad console? So far it is technically underpowered on a level with last gen, has the worst online infrastructure (it being free doesn't remotely begin to save it) and nobody is supporting it. If that doesn't entitle us to call it bad, what would? Even if you enjoy the games that have come out so far, the console itself is pretty darn bad.
  5. Very much this. @Serebii no more dodging! Show me evidence of Nintendo on TEH QUAKES! Don't fluff this now. In the name of journalism, I compel you!
  6. I've got it and I don't get it.
  7. Man, this post is surreal. You realise the console is failing because most people think absolutely the opposite of you (and for good reason)?
  8. But why would people make that choice? They never made that choice with the DS and Wii. The games on each system are also very different, and handheld consoles are often appreciated for their portability.
  9. Yeah, it's not really viable since smartphone would suck for this - they don't have a control stick or buttons for precise control. The best option is to put your software on popular hardware. It'd be like the next World of Warcraft being released on only Linux. Why would you do that? Such a big deal is made about Nintendo putting their software on a format they don't own the rights to. People do that all the time with PC. And really, NSMW3D could be enjoyed in exactly the same way on a PS4 or X1 as it could on a gamepad. Probably enjoyed more, given you'd have a more comfortable controller.
  10. DS, super successful, Wii, super successful. People don't think 'my god that Wii U is doing terribly, I'll buy a 3DS instead'.
  11. Except they can't play their handheld franchises on other hardware - I said they only need make their home console software go third party. If what you said was true then no one would buy their handheld already since they could just play 'the same franchises' on their home consoles. Handhelds and home consoles serve different needs. And you ain't getting Pokemon on home consoles.
  12. time. Again, Nintendo really would benefit by becoming a third party dev for their home console titles. They can't produce a good console to save their life.
  13. Well look at the X1 and PS4. Both went down the power route, which in turn garnered consumer support and simultaneously dev support. And both are doing very well. I remember with the N64 where Nintendo were at the forefront of things, Mario 64 blew people away both in terms of gameplay and presentation. They were leading the way. Now it looks like they're a generation behind. Because they pretty much are.
  14. I remember that too!
  15. Yeah, it's basically just an Xbox 360/PS3. They so royally screwed up by making it so underpowered.
  16. They should just get rid of the gamepad and rename it the Wii, and sell it for a similar price. Probably would do better then.
  17. Those figures are earth shattering. They'll send a quake across the gaming community. Quakes.
  18. That's a shame.
  19. Given it's probably unlikely you'll ever catch a whiff of the PSN cards at that price, Green Man Gaming has 365 day PSN cards for £30 if you apply the code 1WDO6K-KWDFJQ-U1E7AI (use 2nd class delivery to avoid further cost).
  20. Hey, I just started playing this game, about L11 at the moment. If I catch up with you then maybe I could start playing with you. This game feels like it has potential although there's something I can't quite put my finger on at the moment that is making me feel a little unexcited by it all.
  21. Yeah, this. A heck of a lot of people don't like the look of beards.
  22. @Diageo what happened / who did you target the night before last? Didn't hear from you yesterday. Same goes to @Jamba.
  23. That's the first bit of luck all game. I was successful last night, and I'm sure that person knows who they are. So who was roleblocked?
  24. We might have to drag this post back up soon.
  25. No, it won't.
