I'd argue less that their market doesn't want it as opposed to Nintendo has a much better hold on the handheld market. Better 3rd Party Support and better 1st party support. It's a uphill battle, and it's similar to the uphill battle the NX faces. I'm not sure anyone really took umbrage to stating the Vita is a failure, I just disagree with the idea that Sony wouldn't try again in the future. I'd also argue that Sony did a fine job at attempting innovations to the handheld market, two (actual) analog sticks as opposed to nubs, an under utilized multi-touch touchpad on the back, multi-touch capacitive screen. It failed because of software, not lack of innovation. But whatever, not exactly the thread for this even if there are parallels.

Goafer And I Started A Let's Play YouTube Channel....
Nolan replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
I'll give it a spin later on. Watching too many LPs as it is already. -
What are you basing this on? The Vita was actually quite a nice product, and it had some decent support. With time I could see them pushing another handheld.

S'alright. Everything feels good and I love the mobility in both games. Not loving that it feels like even if I get the drop on someone they turn around and kill me. The feedback to me feels like I get hit by just a couple shots and watching the killcam I see I'm pumped full of lead. It's a solid maybe. If I cared about online more I'd likely get it.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Nolan replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
To further iterate on the point of things changing, the FFXV release date. It was based on the "gold" version of the game. They decided instead of pressing that to disc with a day 1 patch to push the date and not have a day 1 patch. Official shit changes. Sometimes for the better. -
So let's just say we can see the future of NX...

Curious which game (and how you know 812 days.) -

No, but I'm sure I'll get it at some point. I didn't get the Wii U until the Windwaker bundle. I'll likely wait for a good library of what I want to play to be available. Unfortunately that makes me part of the problem. Not supporting the console makes 3rd parties less likely to support it as well. It's a pretty shitty cycle. -
You just don't seem to get it do you....

Ehhh. It was okay. I was at my parents one weekend and they had just started Episode 2 (I'd only seen the first episode and decided I didn't care enough to watch more.) long story short I was there long enough we finished the series. Its a good show, but I'd prefer more Arrested Development or Knights of Sidonia from Netflix.

Sometimes reading this thread causes literally pain in my head.... Because fuck you that's why! Sorry that's just my go to response for unexplainable circumstances that often make no sense.

I'd much rather this than massive day 1 patches. Fuck Day 1 patches. If you have to deliver a multi GB download to complete your game then it obviously wasn't fucking gold yet, and shouldn't be pressed to disc. Frankly I feel that SE should be applauded for this decision and being somewhat honest about. I'm also said that I think this behavior deserves applause though. Fucking games industry....

What in the fuck? I feel like I'm missing something but oh well. I seriously thought from the title it was a spambot selling Soap for Harpies. Happy birthday I guess then.

That's what I thought. And Slim models also removed the capability of the HDD. Sooooo PS2 falls into the same sort of category as the GC did in terms of online, just with far more support. (Also of note, Dreamcast only came with 56k and a broadband modem was a separate purchase.)
-
Well, you said it so I guess I don't have to.
-
Didn't PS2 online also require a bit of hardware? Or am I just thinking MMOs for the HDD.
-
Correct, two years ago MS finally removed the paywall to use Netflix and a variety of other apps. Sony having had free online for the PS3 for life (until plus offered benefits) never had such apps behind the paywall. Even now I'm fairly certain it is just multiplayer being paid for.

Anyone playing this lately? Just picked it up on PS4. Early impressions are its trying really hard to be OG Legend of Zelda. Not necessarily bad, the other impression though is that they went a bit too far minimalist. Not far enough that info can't quit be gleaned but you get to a shop and are just showed some images.... Not super helpful. All in all though I think I'll enjoy it.

More...nah also importantly. Muthafuckin Disney 16bit games are on GoG. Back when they were the shit. Aladdin, Lion King the others I can recall. Now if only I had the energy to boot up my PC.

As ergonomic as the Wii U controller currently is. Just narrower it looks to me.

I'm doubtful of her opinion. Which I find to be odd wording.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
Nolan replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
Bumpan For reasons. I've drank most every night this past week. Invariably this is the song popping in. -
And you're that kids new dad.

The US is still pretty indoctrinated against Russia just from the Cold War. They became our Allies in WWII and rather promptly after enemies. I agree that it's likely we see the people as being more similar to countries from the west, and then when the war was in full effect America went full retard with paranoia. For half a century everyone was taught that at any minute a communist might push the button and blast us to hell, be wary of your neighbors you never know who is a communist in disguise trying to bring down democracy. Joe McCarthy rose to power because he had everyone convinced he could point out communists, which was such a dirty word. Even today the words Communist and Socialist are dirty words to call someone. It's part of why are government is so fucked up, anyone a little left is deemed a raving lunatic socialist that wants to spend all our money on the poor. It's why Trump actually has a scary shot at being president. So now in current days after the Iron Curtain fell and the USSR dissolved any time Russia does something we either scrutinize it as if they are western, or we scaremonger that they're going to be the enemy again and attack. Cheesy and oversimplifying, look at Rocky IV. It's a story about how good hardworking American beats the remorseless steroid using Soviet and somehow wins over the Soviet spectators. Saying they can change, implying change to be more like the West. It's 30 years later but that's still how the US views them. As for China, that's a different can of worms. The US wants all our goods to be dirt cheap, but we also hate that these jobs are relocated out of country for less expensive labor. Hence many people (mostly unions) keeping the buy Made in US products Mantra. It's ironic as all hell, and most people are blind to that fact. They'll go so far as to buy a Chevy (Made in Korea) over a Honda (75% Made in US) because they are then supporting a US company instead of a Foreign company...World trade economy means nothing to these people. As for human rights violations, Americans don't give a shit. As long as the prices stay low and they can play around on their new Samsung(More irony of a Korean phone) or iPhone they don't care that Foxconn workers are prone to suicide. Human life is cheap and we try and pretend it isn't by doing all the things we do, child labor laws maternity leave sick leave 40 hour work week, but we buy almost every product from a country where those things don't matter and the country is doing great because of us. Peoples concern about China now? They're too powerful, it's why China was left out of the Trans Pacific Pact. No one cares about human rights, they just care that Communist China is getting too rich and powerful and want to try and stem the flow of money into their economy because otherwise we'll all be speaking Chinese the way some tell it. That's the general view of the US towards Russia and China. Unfavorable, and uncaring to their issues and wondering why they don't just fix themselves up and be more better like we are. Like telling the depressed person stop being sad.

Probably this hamster. https://vimeo.com/173067576 I'm giving up trying to embed it.

Unless something has changed, the "devs" is just one guy if I recall correctly. Which is not to excuse releasing a game with issues because plenty don't fall into that trap, but just that between him announcing a patch and actually finishing the patch there is going to be a decent turnaround period. I mean on Steam Nuclear Throne was in early access for damn near forever, with a ton of updates. It kinda sucks waiting on them to finish things.
