As ergonomic as the Wii U controller currently is. Just narrower it looks to me.

I'm doubtful of her opinion. Which I find to be odd wording.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

Bumpan For reasons. I've drank most every night this past week. Invariably this is the song popping in. -
And you're that kids new dad.

The US is still pretty indoctrinated against Russia just from the Cold War. They became our Allies in WWII and rather promptly after enemies. I agree that it's likely we see the people as being more similar to countries from the west, and then when the war was in full effect America went full retard with paranoia. For half a century everyone was taught that at any minute a communist might push the button and blast us to hell, be wary of your neighbors you never know who is a communist in disguise trying to bring down democracy. Joe McCarthy rose to power because he had everyone convinced he could point out communists, which was such a dirty word. Even today the words Communist and Socialist are dirty words to call someone. It's part of why are government is so fucked up, anyone a little left is deemed a raving lunatic socialist that wants to spend all our money on the poor. It's why Trump actually has a scary shot at being president. So now in current days after the Iron Curtain fell and the USSR dissolved any time Russia does something we either scrutinize it as if they are western, or we scaremonger that they're going to be the enemy again and attack. Cheesy and oversimplifying, look at Rocky IV. It's a story about how good hardworking American beats the remorseless steroid using Soviet and somehow wins over the Soviet spectators. Saying they can change, implying change to be more like the West. It's 30 years later but that's still how the US views them. As for China, that's a different can of worms. The US wants all our goods to be dirt cheap, but we also hate that these jobs are relocated out of country for less expensive labor. Hence many people (mostly unions) keeping the buy Made in US products Mantra. It's ironic as all hell, and most people are blind to that fact. They'll go so far as to buy a Chevy (Made in Korea) over a Honda (75% Made in US) because they are then supporting a US company instead of a Foreign company...World trade economy means nothing to these people. As for human rights violations, Americans don't give a shit. As long as the prices stay low and they can play around on their new Samsung(More irony of a Korean phone) or iPhone they don't care that Foxconn workers are prone to suicide. Human life is cheap and we try and pretend it isn't by doing all the things we do, child labor laws maternity leave sick leave 40 hour work week, but we buy almost every product from a country where those things don't matter and the country is doing great because of us. Peoples concern about China now? They're too powerful, it's why China was left out of the Trans Pacific Pact. No one cares about human rights, they just care that Communist China is getting too rich and powerful and want to try and stem the flow of money into their economy because otherwise we'll all be speaking Chinese the way some tell it. That's the general view of the US towards Russia and China. Unfavorable, and uncaring to their issues and wondering why they don't just fix themselves up and be more better like we are. Like telling the depressed person stop being sad.

Probably this hamster. https://vimeo.com/173067576 I'm giving up trying to embed it.

Unless something has changed, the "devs" is just one guy if I recall correctly. Which is not to excuse releasing a game with issues because plenty don't fall into that trap, but just that between him announcing a patch and actually finishing the patch there is going to be a decent turnaround period. I mean on Steam Nuclear Throne was in early access for damn near forever, with a ton of updates. It kinda sucks waiting on them to finish things.

Doom (to me) was surprisingly really freaking good. I knew that it was possible (looking at wolfenstein) but somehow I just had low expectations. But it released as being a great game and they finally have the engine working well enough that the framerate and texture loading issues are non existent. Damn. I ain't even got my present yet (and we share a birthdate). Well I did get a heart shaped rose made out of pipe cleaners from my 5 year old niece cause she loves me and I'm (usually) her favorite person in the whole wide world. I don't have a picture handy though. My other present is that my parents are going to buy me a shotgun. Murrica! I was thinking of getting one a while back is why. Like 0.01% home defense (highly unlikely it would be of any use) and 99% shooting at targets for fun. Seriously, shooting is actually a fun thing to do, though an expensive hobby. The other 0.09% I'm not drunk enough to voice. Having once played Mother 3 on emulator you did the right thing. The combat is timing based on the music, so any amount of input lag makes battles way extra fucking hard. I've just bought a GoPro. Going to mount it to my Dune Buggy and hopefully get some cool videos. Alternatively my nephew just got Scuba certified so upto 40 meters he can get some cool footage hopefully.

Rock bottom. Horrible at public speaking, hate all the eyes on me. Slightly better at 1-1 depends on how well I know the other party. I'm much better at just being quiet in a small group of people and delivering shitty one liners and anecdotes that others can build off of. So oddly enough I'm liked well enough by others. I'm far better at online/text interactions. Plenty of time to overthink what I'm going to say. Course then when I'm actually in person it's that much worse haha.

Furthermore I can't see Sony or Microsoft giving a "free pass" to what is still a competitor. If they knew Nintendo was doing the unveiling, backing out is a bad idea unless they had absolutely nothing that could combat it and not backing out would be a time waste. But both of them could easily steal some of the hype away, Further details about the One S, Scorpio or Neo would suffice. It feels more likely that Europe is just being ignored :/

http://adamreeve.tumblr.com/post/147120922009/pokemon-go-is-a-huge-security-risk Basically it's that when you sign in with a Gmail account it gives the app (so the developers) full access to your gmail account. Full as in read and send emails if they wanted. Scroll down and there's a link to see if you've used Pokemon Go and if it has access and to remove it. (It just goes to a google page.) Edit. Apparently only affecting iOS devices.

upscaling isn't what we want though. That's just taking existing assets and pulling them to a desired resolution, perfectly doable with poor results. Rendering at a higher resolution is what is needed, and probably isn't a hardcoded limit considering emulators often can render at much higher resolution. The problem then is just textures. Textures often won't scale as nicely unless they're already high resolution. There are of course exceptions, and certain art styles definitely allow for it more readily.

Brown hair red beard hazel eyed white dude. It was only a little super awkward when my girls super Mexican mom told me my eyes were gorgeous over breakfast... So, this is a thing that happened. http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jul/4/black-lives-matter-shuts-down-toronto-gay-pride-pa/ Can't say I'm a fan...and this latest stunt doesn't help. Honored guests, leading the parade and they decide to stop and stall the entire parade for some rather silly demands. The worst of which in my opinion is prioritizing hiring people of color, and that police shouldn't be allowed representation in the parade with floats. Horribly horribly ironic when they want more colored representation; which perhaps they have a point I don't know, alternatively the demographics may just be skewed that way as opposed to the anti-black practices they're claiming. They stalled for a half hour before the Pride organizer agreed to the demands. I've typed all this and just realized perhaps it's already posted and talked about in the LGBT thread, but I think it somewhat fits here too.

That makes absolutely no sense. To me it would only make sense if the person was literally of citizenship in 3 countries, one of which being within Africa. But eh what do I know. Haven't witnessed that myself, but I'm sure it happens.
-
True that. We're all the human race, but humans seem to like to put things in neat little boxes and categories and for some reason develop the us vs them mentality while we're at it. On a similar note of wrong terms. African American. A wholly widespread and often incorrect term to refer to black Americans (whom should just be called Americans imo and not identified by their skin). I've been chastised before for calling someone black instead of African American. Le sigh.

Ehhhhh. I still think System Shock 2 was a much stronger game than Bioshock. Bioshock felt like a reimagined SS2 honestly, still good fun though I've played through it twice. Never saw a point to the sequel and never had any desire to play it (though I heard the multiplayer was actually quite well done even if relatively ignored). I wonder if the MP portion will make it into this collection since that would mean setting up netcode and all that jazz. Infinite was the cream of the crop and one of my GotYs for that year. 2012 right? It, Dishonored, and Sleeping Dogs dominated my fall that year. It has some issues people complain about but I honestly find the issues to be such niggling points to whine over.

Really sorry you went through that. It's funny just how close we can get to people we've never really met before and be great friends with them and not know them at all. I work in a construction trade that's predominantly white and while they can all hold their opinions well enough to not get in trouble, a large majority are quite racist towards blacks. Most are outright hateful of any Muslims. (Yay for US middle eastern policies). It's a sad state and relatively representative of the US blue collar workforce. They are open to change only insofar as not getting themselves in trouble.

Should but likely won't.

Broken as fuck isn't wrong. However congress votes, it passes president can veto, congress can then actually overturn the veto. Supreme Court reviews laws and acts and can determine things to be unconstitutional and throw them out. Such as banning gay marriage. The court is 9 justices, and only 5 need to agree. Much harder said than done. Of course right now we have 8 because Republicans threw a shit fit that Obama might appoint someone they don't like and it shouldn't be his decision (despite him being in office for a full year post Scalia death) so just recently a decision was 4-4 and nothing was decided. So yeah. Broken as fuck, but occasionally it works. Shit still gets forced through and many politicians are literally bought by corporations. Anyways. Why I came in here. Sorry.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Nolan replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Want, no not really. I hate the sensor bar, always have its always been the most annoying part of the Wii to me. That said, I wouldn't complain at all if the NX is capable of playing all the old games. More functionality is rarely a bad thing. Too much focus on the wrong functionality though is bad. Honestly if be happy if it could just play the games, but had literally no more focus than that. Don't even include a sensor bar, and don't allow dev access to motion controls. Anything beyond backwards compatibility, fuck it. Standard fucking controller for new games, allow old controllers to connect for old games only. Actually I'd be happy with a revised GameCube controller. Normal right stick, sticks that click, bumper buttons, normal Dpad and analog triggers with a digital click. Sounds like a winner.
