Cube Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Do you think playing Multiplayer games will unlock stages, characters, etc like in Melee? From the sounds of it, co-op isn't really an extra mode, but basically like old co-op games where player 2 can join in with no effect on how the game itself plays (e.g. Streets of Rage). So I think that co-op will unlock the same as if you did it in single player.
Gizmo Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I hope co-op is one of those unspecified modes that has an online feature. This times infinite.
Gatoman Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 today's update sucks T~T love the 2-player story though! and it even hints at online and i think that every character has their owm story 2
mcj metroid Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 this was always going to happen though... I must say all my complaints about the other one seem to have been addressed.. This was a great idea. Hope it works like an arcade game in that a player could join in when tehy want etc.. Not essential though.
Coolness Bears Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Co-Op mode! This is a Great addition! they really have packed everything into the game!
Goron_3 Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Co-op mode is a great addition and it should help get more people into the game. As Zell pointed out, getting all the trophies should be easier.
Zell Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Having recently played Halo 3, I hope in Brawl that you'll be able to save replays of matches.
Dyson Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Wooooooo updates start again tomorrow. They really brighten up the week and make the days just that little bit better.
Emasher Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 It'll probably be something stupid tomorrow like a new assist trophy or nearly pointless item. Is there a certain day of the week that has the best updates?
Zelda_Rulez Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Zero Suit Samus: Special Moves Standard Special Move: Paralyzer Bzzzzzzzzzzt! I can’t get enough of this. A personal protection device, the Paralyzer stuns opponents. If you can charge it up for a bit, you can land additional attacks while your opponent is stunned. A down smash will fire it at your feet! But this is only self-defence at best. It does not have the power of an explosive attack. Where and when you use this is key. What really brings out some characteristic Samus skills is when this gun transforms and releases a whip: the Plasma Whip. Side Special Move: Plasma Whip The flash at the tip of this short whip is quite powerful! Up Special: Plasma Wire Shoot it straight up to pull enemies towards you! These two moves can be used to grab and hang from an edge. They can reach even if the ledge is pretty far away, so pay close attention to distance and timing and aim to dangle from the edge. Pzzzzt! What a magnificent edge grab! [/Quote] So we got all Special Moves except for the down special, I wonder why they're not telling us that one.
Kurtle Squad Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 this was always going to happen though... I must say all my complaints about the other one seem to have been addressed.. This was a great idea. Hope it works like an arcade game in that a player could join in when tehy want etc.. Not essential though. I think Co-op is kind of essential to a lot of games when it comes to time played and what you fdeel like doing if you've got a mate round; the lack of Co-op is the reason I don't play some games as much as I would if it had it: Starfox, 1st/3rd Person Shooters, Smash Bros. Melee etc. Co-Op games are awesome, especially if you're not in the mood to verse each other, but they're going severly thin now; and we can't continuously play Gears of War & Streets of Rage when we feel like working together Good job Smash Bros Developers
steggy Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 So we got all Special Moves except for the down special, I wonder why they're not telling us that one. Yes we did. :p A down smash will fire it at your feet!
Petey Piranah Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I want to see Zero Suit Samus in that sort of pose standing next to Snake fully standing up so we can see who they've made taller. Snake is 182cm (5 foot 11 inches tall) and Samus is 190cm (6 foot 3 inches tall with her suit on), so now perhaps once and for all, we can get an indication of Samus's true height...
MindFreak Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Yes we did. :p No, that is apparently her down-smash move, i.e. a smash move.
steggy Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 No, that is apparently her down-smash move, i.e. a smash move. oic I stand corrected. Forgot about the special/smash mechanic for a second there.
darksnowman Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Check out the Up move! How class would it be if she screamed "Get over here!" while trailing opponents down to her? Yes, very class indeed!
Jonnas Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 God, I love those special moves. The paralyzer is the only move taken from the games, but at least it features twice. The whip moves are awesome. I can already imagine a few combos. Up-Smash so they fly vertically, Up-B to bring'em back down, repeat, maybe a few grabs and up-throws... And when I'm tired, send them horizontally and whip'em away. Can't wait! Seems that, unlike Link, her tether recovery aiming isn't automatic. But that still confuses me about Link. The hookshot is auto-aiming, but it's completely horizontal. What's there to auto-aim? Let's see, Zero Suit Samus has: -Great speed; -Great range with the whips; -Easy-to-do combos (guessing); -Two tether recoveries (horizontal and vertical). Does she have any weakness? Maybe she really is only selectable with the Smash Ball. That's the only weakness I can think of.
Cube Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 She probably takes a lot of damage easily and is very light.
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Ugh! Zero Suit is worst than Sheik IMO. Atleast he had some power behind his up special dissappearance move that was prone to smashing jumping foes sky high.
Hellfire Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Ugh! Zero Suit is worst than Sheik IMO. Atleast he had some power behind his up special dissappearance move that was prone to smashing jumping foes sky high. So you have played the game? Not to mention this isn't a competition to make ZSS better than Sheik
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 So you have played the game? Not to mention this isn't a competition to make ZSS better than Sheik I don't really need to play the game to see that Zero suit is a weak/fast type who is best compared with Sheik. MY OPINION; Sheik has better moves.
Cube Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 What's so bad about fast/weak characters? Is it the fact that you need some skill to use them?
