dabookerman Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 right im bored, so i wanna know what is arguably the worlds worst disease/virus etc... things that screw you up internally externally makes your head explode what ever. an example would be the ebola virus and please, i dont want no "human beings/war/goverments are the worst disease type answers"
gaggle64 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Does radiation posioning count? Basically it causes your body to rot (necrosis) while your still alive.
Blackfox Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Ebola is a pretty nasty disease, along any other Filoviridae viruses. Plague was/is bad. Most of the encephalitis disease are bad too.
dabookerman Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 ebola symptoms "Symptoms are varied and often appear suddenly. Initial symptoms include: high fever (at least 38.8° C, 101° F), severe headache, muscle/joint/abdominal pain, severe weakness and exhaustion, sore throat, nausea, and dizziness. Before an epidemic is suspected, these early symptoms are easily mistaken for malaria, typhoid fever, dysentery, or various bacterial infections, which are all far more common. The secondary symptoms often involve bleeding both internally and externally from any opening in the body: Dark or bloody stools and diarrhea, vomiting blood, red eyes from swollen blood vessels, red spots on the skin from subcutaneous bleeding, and bleeding from the nose, mouth, rectum, genitals and needle puncture sites. Other secondary symptoms include low blood pressure (less than 90mm Hg) and a fast but weak pulse, eventual organ damage including the kidney and liver by co-localized necrosis, and proteinuria (the presence of proteins in urine). The span of time from onset of symptoms to death (from shock due to blood loss or organ failure) is usually between 7 and 14 days." lovely...
Nucleus Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Necrotizing fasciitis caused by the streptococcus bacteria is a nasty flesh eating disease. Not as a bad as Ebola but it's one for the list.
DanielTimothy Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Pfft!? Aids? Don't be silly, protect your willy. Although not painfull Alzheimer's would scare me the most.
gorrit Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Pfft!? Aids? (GIF removed) Don't be silly, protect your willy. I would say it's one of the most gruesom diseases, but it has killed quite a few. UNAIDS and WHO estimate that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized. In 2005 alone, AIDS claimed between an estimated 2.8 and 3.6 million lives. It should not be taken lightly.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 How about the plague that ran through Europe in the medieval ages? That killed a good chunk of the European population.
Jon Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 One of the worst would probably be small pox/monkey pox. Radiation poisining is another nasty way to go, but it isn't really a disease as such.
Dan_Dare Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 AIDS, while commanding a huge death count, isn't really one for the list because it has no symptoms as such. we need truly evil tropical deaths! (I'd also like to add my support to EEVIL. the shits is a fury for no man)
Lammie Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Wouldn't it be easier to just state a disease you wouldn't mind having.... Actually......that's kinda difficult...
Ollie Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 That gif is just scary. Especially as they clearly aren't his hands, and they look like they could be mans hands!
guarana Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 MONKEY POX... get um from chipmunks...........................
Tellyn Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 The zombie people's mega disease in DOctor Who. Hehe, no seriously, I'd say Alzeimers.
Kurtle Squad Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Actually...AIDs doesnt kill people anyway...
Mokong Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 T Virus10 characters Damn beat me to it. Anyway, i saw a documentry on Discovery i think it was a mont ago, on different viruses that could be used in chemical warfare. I can only remember Antranx and Small Pox (which still exsists in cold storage in i think USA and Russia) and it scared me.
mike-zim Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 there is that genetic disease that turns your muscle to bone. so at some point you have to choose the position you want to be in for the rest of your life. eventually your heart turns to bone and you die. that is a really slow one and you know it is coming that is what makes it evil.
