Heaven Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Kiss of the Dragon Starship Troopers I think I saw that film about 5 times and I still like it all the same. The pretty bad actors and their overacting is fun to watch, the bugs are a stupidly cool enemy actually, the unneccessary violence, the short propaganda videos, the epic feel and the absolutely awesome soundtrack (got it on CD) make this one of my favorite films. I also like the very apparent critic on the military, Nazi Germany, politics, the media and false heroism. Sadly the second half of the film loses a bit of it's pace and is more action orientated. 9/10 *cough* WHAT? BAD ACTORS? AHHHHH it's simply the best science-fiction/splatter movie ever made!!!
Bluejay Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I hope you read the book first! It's my favourite. I saw The Wicker Man (2006) tonight, I hadn't seen the original so it was all new to me. It was interesting and I think it had the right balance on the horror side, although still more than I'd expect for a 12. I enjoyed it more than I expected - 7/10 Watch the old one now to compare, but then I guess that would ruin the new one for you. The old one is good, pretty strange. Is the new one weird?
Katie Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Yea it's weird, well the whole idea is weird isn't it? My brother had seen the original and still prefers that one but he thought they were both good films.
Yoshiking Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Catwoman - 2.5/10 This movie actually has some great ideas. The only problem is; either they were executed badly, set in the wrong context, or blended in with equally bad ideas. That, and the fact that the concept of Catwoman itself is lame as shit (why the whip? No, really? Why? Why?) and the special effects being complete balls, this just doesn't stand up like it could. A waste.
AshMat Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Snakes on a Plane 9/10 Somehow keeps you gripped all the way through, great funny bits, great action bits. All around great mutherfucking movie.

Michael Ironside is absolutely awesome I didn't mean all actors were bad and well maybe bad was a bit too harsh, I meant that at some points they didn't come across entire believeable.
H@gi Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman 9/10 It was one great western!
Yoshiking Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Taxi 3 - 5/10 Not sure how to rate this, really. If it's a action movie parody, damn it was excellent. If it's an action movie.. Well, damn. So I'll just give it 5/10. Funny though, many laughs.
Monopolyman Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Boogie Nights A biopic about about a porn star during the 70's and 80's. Surprisingly entertaining and an interesting look at how that sort of industry screws you over, but surely Wahlburgs (or anyone's) schlong isn't that big. 8/10
gaggle64 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Machinist - Scary but brilliant film aout an insomniac machine operator who starts to believe he's the subject of a conspiracy to destroy him. Dark and provoking, my only problem is it somtimes offers too much explanation where it isn't needed, and then not enough on important points until the last minute. Very good overall. Stress inducing. 8/10
Pit-Jr Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Grandmas Boy A comedy stereotyping video gamers, with the recycled cast of Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy Expect a few good laughs, but also expect to guess how the movie ends a few minutes into watching it. I doubt anyone will want to watch it twice 5/10
Konfucius Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Snakes on a Plane Most of the film is actually quite predictable after watching the trailer and reading the title. However I really like the character presentation and it has some tense moments too but even more funny ones -> feeding the dog I wondered however why they didn't try to cool the whole plane down as the snakes are dependant on the surrounding temperature. 5/10
Surrealist Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Snakes on a PlaneI wondered however why they didn't try to cool the whole plane down as the snakes are dependant on the surrounding temperature. We are the clever one, aren't we? :p Moulin Rouge Saw I had this on DVD the other day, and hadn't watched in ages so me and the girlfriend had a watch. It was really enjoyable. Greatly incorporated classic songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit and Roxanne make it easily accessible in terms of the musical aspect, and it has some really very funny moments (mostly surreal I might add) as well as a gripping (but basic) plotline. 8/10
Konfucius Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Battle Royale Director's Cut After so many good comments on NE I finally got round to watching that film and I was in no way disappointed. Though there are so many different actors it's very easy to follow the story. The actors really can transport the feeling of their situation. Everyone also has a very unique character and there aren't any predictable stereotypes. I especially liked how there was a little backstory to most of the characters. The whole idea of how pupils react under these cirumstances is interesting, very disturbing and yet funny at times. 10/10
Heaven Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Superman returns Okayish, better than spiderman movies 7/10
MoogleViper Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Pulse 4/10 Boring sums it up pretty well.

I doubt anyone will want to watch it twice 5/10 so very true. The movie could do with out having to had made him a game designer, its very degrading to all gamers.... The only good part was when they had that big party, can you guess why??? Superman returns Okayish, better than spiderman movies 7/10 No way, Never.
BeerMonkey Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 The Aviator watched this with the family on friday night since didnt go out and found it suprising good. I wasnt expecting to like it much but it has a great (true story) script and thought at the end it was a great film and will have to see again soon . Leonardo is awesome in it. 9/10
Tim_NOE Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Great movie with great cast. It keeps surprising the viewer with awesome story twists. It is not a normal movie... it interacts with the viewer. It is weird, but very original. Definitely worth a rental if you are into Tarantino style movies. 9/10
Ryan Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 A Clockwork Orange Absolutely hate it. No score for you!
Hero-of-Time Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Little Man Seen it at the pics on Friday and it was complete rubbish. I enjoyed the Waynes Brothers last movie White Chicks but this was terrible. It did have a couple of moments that were alright and for that it gets an impressive 3/10!
Been Insane Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Monster House....Meh, I expected more of this. Steve Buscemi gives anything bonus points though.
Dan_Dare Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 A Clockwork Orange Absolutely hate it. No score for you! you bizzare, bizzare person. Silent Hill Having no preconceptions based on any significant game time, I actually found this fairly enjoyable in its own way. It was better towards the beginning though. it all gets a bit to stupid once they find the church...
