Seen on Reddit that some people have been getting their consoles early, but can't play them because they need a mandatory update before they work 😂

I’ve heard this too and wonder if this is by design from Nintendo. Got your console early? Well too bad.

According to John from GVG it's only when trying to load a Switch 1 game card that it says you need to download the firmware update - Switch 2 carts will load just fine without connecting to the internet

Yep, got that email this morning confirming my Pro Controller and SD Card had moved along to the warehouse, and just got another through to confirm that Mario Kart World and the case are also there (just decided to stick with the basic launch one from Nintendo for now, I can always upgrade at a later point). Starting to feel a bit more tangible! 

Between those and Nintendo taking payment for the console and the GameCube controller already and those having tracking links, it all seems to be going pretty smoothly so far! 

Perhaps too smoothly...

Is anyone else still waiting for the My Nintendo Store to take their payment?

Seriously wondering if I should shoot them an email/phone call to badger them to steal my money...

My payment switched to pending today, so I guess they're starting now.

Yikes. Curious if they're short of units and just cancelled some pre-orders now that they've find that they can't source them in time for launch? 

I had a 1-1 at work with my manager shortly after the Switch 2 Direct and told her I'd got pre-orders in a few places, and of the jumbled mess the PS5 launch experience was with GAME – even though it arrived on release date, think I'd rather a small team of carrier pigeons deliver my PS5 than Yodel, who they switched to after telling everyone it would be done via Royal Mail. 

After an awkward pause, she then confided in me that her Switch 2 pre-order was with GAME...wonder if she's one of the ones impacted by this?

I do feel bad for anyone who pre-ordered at GAME, but... I mean... what do you expect to happen when you pre-order from a company that is literally on the verge of total collapse?

They literally just sold off their head office and all of their warehouse stock a few weeks ago.  The company is dead.  D.E.A.D.  Dead as a dodo.  Dead as a can of spam.  Dead as a Dead Parrot.

I'd be amazed if anyone got a Switch 2 sent out from them at this point.  If you have happened to preorder from them, cancel and order from someone else NOW.

If they do go that'll be the second company I've worked at that closed (after Woolworths). 

So I guess after them it would have to be Sports Direct.

I use PayPal linked to my Nintendo account. PayPal took the money on Sunday and it’s been taken from my bank today. Woo hoo but boo my poor account.

Yeah, I just got the email too.  So that'll be my sister's Switch 2 sorted at least.

They even tell you that payments start being taken over the next 1-3 days after Saturday; AND that they'll notify you in a seperate email if payment can't be taken for whatever reason.

See My Nintendo Store? Was that so hard?
