Weird that I haven’t been charged yet for my GCN controllers…

Guess they’re doing these in batches? Dunno :heh:

Wish they’d just take the full payment for everything already and be done with it!  Sick of waiting and having to keep money set aside in my current account, not knowing when it’ll be taken!

Seems like some retailers, such as Smyths, are having trouble fulfilling orders for the 512GB microSD Express cards and have delayed delivery of pre-orders of the cards until the end of July.

Might just be something worth keeping an eye on, as I struggle to imagine them being the only ones with potential stock issues for the 512GB cards.

I'll take your money if that will make you feel more reassured.

Just got charged for my Pro Controller and case (I ordered them separately before I could order the console).

Didn't even know they put up a 512GB card. SanDisk don't even list it on their site, and the only other site I can find it on is EEs store.

You're paying on a debit card?

Starting to see some reports of Pro Controller pre-orders being charged...

We're getting there, folks.

Slowly but surely, we're getting there :D

Aye.  I always do (unless PayPal is an option).  I never buy anything on credit (don’t even have a credit card).

Edit: Ahh, I forgot that I chose PayPal as the payment method on the My Nintendo Store.  Perhaps that’s why payment hasn’t been taken yet?

Edit 2: Oh wait a sec! That means that I could just put the money into my PayPal wallet and just let it get taken from there instead! That’s a much better idea! Then I don’t need to worry about having enough money lying around in my current account!

As someone who works at a bank, I always find it interesting when people have an aversion to utilising credit, because used smartly, it can go a long way in making things easier and simpler, such as with pre-orders like this. I noted it elsewhere but I stick pre-orders like this on a credit card and have the funds kept in dedicated spaces elsewhere, then transfer the funds over to the credit card as and when I see that the payment has been made. Saves me needing to check on and keep available funds in my current account.

Not to say that it's wrong or anything like that, it always just makes me curious, I guess because of my job; but whatever actually works for you is almost always best. I've seen "more privileged" customers be excellent with managing credit, and others with ample funds being absolutely dismal at managing their credit (because they're too proud to set up a Direct Debit).

I mean, anecdotally, I've got colleagues who also dodge using credit every chance they get (some who refuse to even use things like eBay) despite being fully aware of its potential importance in terms of building a good credit score, but some of them are also in a position where they have no real need to build up their credit file (traditional households from other cultures), so ::shrug:

I just don’t like the idea of accruing any form of debt if I can help it.

The only debt I have is an old student loan and (soon to be) a mortgage.  That’s it.  Any regular bills/payments are done via Direct Debit.

Anyway.  I’ve now loaded up my PayPal wallet.  Glad I had that bright idea! Now I don’t need to think or worry about it anymore :D

I also don't use credit cards but more because I worry I'll forget to sort it out (I once paid for 2 months rent after leaving because I forgot to cancel the direct debit). Although most of mine is in savings rather than current.

And my credit score is fine. May be slightly better if I had, but it's fine as it is.

Been a while, but dipping in to say I have my pre-order locked in. Went with Curry's as they were the only ones at the time showing as having stock so all paid and ready. Still on for launch day delivery, but who knows with a company like Curry's. :D

I was going to hold out until DK releases so I had more to play as the launch line up is (as ever) pretty lame.

JUST BEEN CHARGED FOR MY SWITCH 2 FROM THE NINTENDO STORE LET'S FREAKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO

They are processing non-invitee orders first? Unacceptable! :heh:

Guessing it’s because you only ordered the console.

Can confirm they just took payment for my Switch 2, I just got the notification from my bank app.

For some reason I thought I’d be getting mine at a later date as I didn’t pre-order mine until two weeks ago.

I've had four e-mails, two weeks ago, with the subject line "Your Order Will Be Processed Shorlty"

Then three e-mails, five days ago, for the majority of three out of four orders from Paypal wth the subject line "You've authorised a payment to Nintendo of Europe..."

The only order out of the four which I haven't had an e-mail for, is the one containing the Switch 2 console, two GCN controllers, and the SD card.

So it looks like the consoles are being processed last, with the software and accessories being processed before.

Worth noting that no money has left my account yet...

It is just over a week from the console launch date, so I've got to imagine payment will be taken by this Friday for sure.

So I got a pre-order in on Amazon a few weeks ago however the dates I got were a bit odd:

Switch  - 7th June

Pro Controller 9th June

Switch 2 Carrying Case - 7th of June

Then last week I ordered Cyberpunk and Zelda - both 7th of June

Hopefully these will change to the 5th but at least I'm getting one!

Anyone been charged twice by the Nintendo store? My brother pre ordered the MK bundle from them but two charges have shown up in his PayPal account

I've only ordered the controller and paid by card but only been charged once. Have they both been taken or are they pending?

Should be able to dispute it if taken and ultimately it will all come out in the wash but obviously not great from a financial perspective.

Possibly just saying that cover themselves as it's probably a busy period. Should hopefully update an all arrive on the 5th.

I just realised I did not get an email from Nintendo to confirm payment or that the order went through, only a message from my bank that the money was taken.

So my order on Nintendo site was on awaiting shipment yesterday. Today it says complete. Woohoo. I know that it won’t come early but it has a tracking number and everything now. The tracking number doesn’t show anything yet though.
