Glen-i Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Impa looks fantastic! She looks more masculine than Link. That's not saying much. Anyway, what's the big deal? So what if Link looks a little feminine, at least they didn't just nick a design of a previous game.

So what if Link looks a little feminine, at least they didn't just nick a design of a previous game. I don't want a character, who was a big part of my childhood, looking like a tart. Opinions and all that. To be fair they just nicked the design from the Manga, hence the scarf.

Link just wants to express his feelings!
Ike Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I kinda like Link's design. Better than the Link Between Worlds design. The game's looking pretty good as well.
Jonnas Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Yeah! More playable characters! I thought the evil witch was Veran for a moment Got my hopes up (She does look a lot like her, though) To be fair they just nicked the design from the Manga, hence the scarf. Which one? I've read a few, but I don't recall any scarf.
Hero-of-Time Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Which one? I've read a few, but I don't recall any scarf. The Skyward Sword prequel in the Hyrule Historia.
Glen-i Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 The Skyward Sword prequel in the Hyrule Historia. Oh? So would that make it actually official?
Hero-of-Time Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Oh? So would that make it actually official? I'm really not sure. I've never taken any of the mangas as canon. They are great reads but the stories are pretty different to the games.
Dcubed Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) Oh? So would that make it actually official? No it's not canon, none of the mangas are. It's the same as all the other Zelda mangas, just made especially for Hyrule Historia in this case and included as a bonus. Anyway, Link has often had a fairly feminine look about him before. Soul Calibur 2 is one particular example that springs to mind... Didn't stop him being awesome in that game though. Embrace girly Link and be merry Edited May 21, 2014 by Dcubed
Hero-of-Time Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Never! It's great to see the positive reaction this has started to get across the net. I was already looking forward to it but now I'm even more excited to see a new trailer. Roll on E3.

Ronnie Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Bored of anorexic fairy boy Link, let's have a return to
Dcubed Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Bored of anorexic fairy boy Link, let's have a return to Well if we're trying to get as far away from Fairy Boy Link as possible, we might as go as far as we ca... ...ok maybe that's a bit too far :P
tapedeck Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Link looks fantastic here. Might just be my favourite realisation of him in a Zelda game so far. I'd be happy with Nintendo adopting this approach in the future. It's a perfect mix of cartoony/mature in my opinion.
Retro_Link Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 ^ Yeah I had the same thought when I saw that pic (although perhaps getting a bit too far into generic JRPG character territory)
Ronnie Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Looking at those scans has definitely gotten me (even more) hyped for Zelda U
Hero-of-Time Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Bit too much of a focus on Shia's assets though, in some circles. From Gaf. Few details about the story from Famitsu. Shia, the game’s main antagonist, was in charge of protecting the equilibrium of the Triforce. However, she developed feelings for Link and becomes jealous of his relationship with Princess Zelda. Shia ends up becoming overcome by wickedness. With her two minions Valga and Wizro, she throws Hyrule in a state of chaos. Link is a soldier-in-training in Hyrule Warriors. Famitsu confirms that the chain mail is his soldier-in-training gear.

Hero-of-Time Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Man, Impa looks so boss in this game! Here's the official site that's just been opened. http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/zelda/introduction.html
Fused King Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Not too shabby looking! I wonder who'll be doing the soundtrack for this game.
