Retro_Link Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 So is this being made by a developer other than Bungie.
Shorty Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Awesome news, but lets hold the phone on the speculation and questions until after the conference
Aimless Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I put my money on a short CGI trailer and no actual gameplay information. Namely because the game doesn't exist yet in any meaningful form. It'll be interesting to see if 343 will be at all adventurous with the series, I just don't think we'll get the chance this year.
Magnus Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 So is this being made by a developer other than Bungie. Yes, but we've known for a long time now that the next Halo game(s) would be made by 343 Industries.
Ramar Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 I'm a fan of Halo and I genuinely believe this to be the worst announcement of Microsoft's press conference. There's no need for a new Halo, I was also too naive to think MS would take the Halo franchise in a new direction, not announce another trilogy..
Agent Gibbs Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 as long as it doesn't turn out to be a kinect game i'll be happy
The Peeps Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 MS aren't going to mess up what they have with the Halo franchise. It's easily their most popular game. I think they can still get more story out of Masterchief and Halo. I'd love to see another prequel game with Masterchief as part/head of a Spartan team. It will be interesting to see if the next developer feels up to the task of maintaining Forge and Theatre modes. Bungie are one of the only developers to offer the community so much in terms of replay value. I can't think of any other games that offer the same level of interaction with the game. Theatre mode is something I'd love to see on lots of other games. If they had a theatre mode on Blur, I'd never be off it!
Murr Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 So far.... Game of e3 for me. Nintendo of course can change that later on
The Peeps Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'm in love with this trailer. It looks fantastic! I'm unleashing my inner fanboy for this game, I seriously can't wait. The obvious concern is whether another developer can match Bungie's level but Microsoft knows how important the Halo series is for Xbox so I'm confident in this title.
Shorty Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Seriously? :/ it's an average looking CG trailer for the first Halo game not helmed by Bungie. I'm not getting my hopes up. The cinematic trailer for Halo 2 was way better.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Where the hell did he get his jet pack from? He's been in stasis since the end of the third game.
Daft Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I liked the idea behind the trailer but I though its execution was pretty week. Halo rocks though so I'm looking forward to the next outing.
Kurtle Squad Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 as long as it doesn't turn out to be a kinect game i'll be happy Don't worry, they'll squeeze it in there somewhere. Where the hell did he get his jet pack from? He's been in stasis since the end of the third game. He travelled back in time and got it from one of his friends?
Konfucius Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Where the hell did he get his jet pack from? He's been in stasis since the end of the third game. I was wondering that as well, but they could be thrusters for Zero-G environments. After all his suit should work in almost any environment, so some thrusters would make sense but wouldn't be powerful enough to make a difference under gravity. The more logical solution should be though, that the ones who made the video simply didn't care and don't expect the average fan to notice.
The Peeps Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Yeah it's just thrusters, not the jet pack. That'd be a pretty big mistake to make :p
Retro_Link Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Teaser of Halo 4's Warthog... not actually drivable in Forza 4, but made anyway for hype purposes...
Retro_Link Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 New Trilogy gets a name http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1190777p1.html Halo Fest: The New Halo Trilogy Has a Name At 343i's Halo 4 panel on Saturday morning, Josh Holmes discussed the impending Halo trilogy and revealed the name of the upcoming three-game series: the Reclaimer Trilogy. Astute Halo fans will recall that Guilty Spark, the AI presence from the original Halo installation in Combat Evolved (and namesake of 343i), often referred to the Master Chief as the Reclaimer throughout their interactions. Guilty Spark also plays a prominent role in Halo CE Anniversary's new addition to the original game, the Terminals. Be sure to check back at http://www.ign.com/events/halo for more on Halo Fest throughout the weekend, including live streams of every Halo Fest panel at PAX!
Cube Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Was Guilty Spark that orb thing, a.k.a The Worst Final Boss In The History Of Video Games?
Konfucius Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Was Guilty Spark that orb thing, a.k.a The Worst Final Boss In The History Of Video Games? Yes, Guilty Spark was that orb thing. Astute Halo fans will recall that Guilty Spark [...] often referred to the Master Chief as the Reclaimer throughout their interactions. Actually all of humanity are considered reclaimers and fulfill the genetic properties to be allowed to operate Forerunner technology (or something like that).
