Dog-amoto Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Been a while since the last thread. I'll get us started. All the usual Go Compare, Meerkat etc ads go without saying, but feel free to post them if they annoy you so much. For me, I can't stand this twatting advert - it's the singing that does it. It really grates and I have to mute the TV immediately. I hate it so much, it actually makes me angry. Shit car as well. Any ads that make you want to pull your own leg off and throw it at the TV?
The Peeps Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Go compare advert is annoying as hell. I don't really watch tv anymore, everything I want to see ends up on iPlayer, 4OD, youtube, 'specialist sites' That one you posted is horrible. The singing is really irritating.
mcj metroid Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hold on doesn't EvilMurray usually make these threads lol. I can't beat the opening posters one. Being honest though, I don't watch a lot of tv BECAUSE of ads.
ReZourceman Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Does Eastenders count because its an advert for bad dialogue/suicide/etc?
Jimbob Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Does Eastenders count because its an advert for bad dialogue/suicide/etc? If only. Yeah, i completly dislike the Go Compare Ads as well. I could post the worst one, but they are all as bad as each other. Where-as, the Cadbury ads make no sense. They are supposed to advertise chocolate, but they make no sense. Oh, and this
Ellmeister Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 That Sketchers advert about breaking up with a guy/personal trainer for some shoes. NO.
Beast Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Does Eastenders count because its an advert for bad dialogue/suicide/etc? Post of the Year?
EEVILMURRAY Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hold on doesn't EvilMurray usually make these threads lol. I can't beat the opening posters one. Being honest though, I don't watch a lot of tv BECAUSE of ads. I was holding back a little while longer. Whilst I prepared...
The Mad Monkey Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I find this skittles ad is really grim and inappropriate.
MadDog Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I find this skittles ad is really grim and inappropriate. That advert is brilliant, you're just miserable.
The Mad Monkey Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 That advert is brilliant, you're just miserable. You can't see the poor guys predicament? It's just a low rent version of King Midas, and if I'm not mistaken that was a tragedy.
The Peeps Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I'm reposting that in the funny stuff thread :p It's the juxtaposition, or whatever you'd call it, of a depressing situation and an advert for sweets...
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I find the concept funny, but I have to agree with MM, why on earth did they go for such a grim take on it? Even I could come up with funnier ways to use that idea!
The Mad Monkey Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 It's the juxtaposition, or whatever you'd call it, of a depressing situation and an advert for sweets... That's what I find inappropriate, here look, someone is suffering, have some sweeities. Just seems so wrong on so many levels.
Diageo Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I am not annoyed by any of the ads posted here and I quite like a few of them. (Skittles and Cadbury's)
The Peeps Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 That's what I find inappropriate, here look, someone is suffering, have some sweeities. Just seems so wrong on so many levels. If it helps, it's not a real disease. I'm pretty sure it was done with special effects and no one in the real world is affected by it.
Dyson Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 What about this fucking abomination? I actually kinda like it
Will Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 All of these adverts are great, I don't know what you guys are on about. Maybe I'm just comparing too much the utterly terrible US adverts. Now there is something to complain about.
DomJcg Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 That's what I find inappropriate, here look, someone is suffering, have some sweeities. Just seems so wrong on so many levels. some thing much worse
The Mad Monkey Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 some thing much worse Yeah, not a fan of that one either.
nekunando Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I actually thought the Skittles advert was OK (though I've only ever seen the slightly truncated version on TV that doesn't include the part about shaking someone's hand..) but I actually did question it in a way that just reads a little too much into it I was with my friends one night when it came on the TV and I suggested to them that if he really suffered from this condition he surely wouldn't make the simple mistake of trying to pick up a phone
