Debug Mode Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Oh Jesus Christ that looks beautiful. It's a shame it can't do 60 frames per second, but it's handheld so there's some sacrifices to be made. I'm curious as to what the load times will be like on an actual retail cart though, as they're pretty long for the demo. Longer than loading the shit ton of SpotPass ghost data I seem to get on Mario Kart 7. I was never too good at WipeOut so it sort of prevented me from fully playing it to it's potential, but I'm definitely starting to feel like I should get back into it because this just looks stunning. It's going to be awfully hard to restrain myself from buying it next month, because I have more money than sense, despite the fact I can't justify buying one at launch.

They can improve it definitely. Wipeout Hd is like 10 sec max. Might be a case of launch game rushing. I hope they support it well. Loved Wipeout Pulse and Pure on PSP. Amazing games. Its a shame only afew tracks made into Wipeout HD. It should be more accessible on slower speeds given Wipeout Pulse and HD managed it well. A baby could play the slowest class. The fastest class is hardcore though. Edited January 17, 2012 by Choze
Debug Mode Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I'm hoping that they do sort out the load times at some point as I do actually take my portables outside of the house and load times are a massive boon to getting the most enjoyment whilst you're on transport. Ah well, I'm hoping to hold out until August-ish and depending on the exchange rate, may just pick one up in Japan.

After seeing that i'm feeling the same... but i can't justify it for 1/2 games
Debug Mode Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Just found out some one has patched the Vita content manager to work offline, thank god. I'll definitely be using that when I make the plunge to buy one, I should be able to put any file I want onto a memory card that I bought myself without some one having access to that information. It's a shame their London tour with PS Vita isn't until pretty much release date as I really would like to have a chance to play it.
Aneres11 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Amazon.co.uk have a pretty decent deal going on with the Vita at the minute. The Wi-Fi only model is £219 but they're offering an 8GB memory card (which is normally £27.99) for free. They are also letting you choose one game for £15 - although the selection of games is limited. Basically don't expect Uncharted or Wipeout The selection of games for £15 are: Asphalt Injection Michael Jackson: The Experience Rayman Origins Dungeon Hunter Alliance Lumines Electronic Symphony Virtua Tennis 4 Think I'd be tempted by Rayman Origins or Virtua Tennis 4 for £15. That makes the total of the Wi-Fi console, plus memory card, plus game as £236.85. Not a bad little deal and it also applies to the 3g model too.

I was 100% I'm not getting one I want a 3DS but as release gets closer I keep changing my mind. Real truth is I can't actually afford either lol.
Aneres11 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Haha, might be worth getting a 3ds first (purely from a games that are available perspective). And they are much cheaper now. The Vita is a very attractive concept though - particularly for those who already game with Sony. I have been interested since they announced it - and with this new deal find myself getting more and more tempted.
Grazza Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Right, that does it. This article has convinced me to get one: http://www.gamesradar.com/ps-vita-it-will-definitely-succeed-although-it-might-completely-fail-heres-why/?page=1 It's not really anything you don't know, just well-written and a reminder that this handheld is absolutely brilliant! No one knows how successful it'll be, but I can't see it being so unsuccessful that Sony wouldn't support it. Vita is Sony's handheld for the forseeable future, and I'm getting onboard.

Yeah I kinda feel the same. I had a PSP and really liked it. Only sold it due to needing monies and there never seeming to be any decent games coming out for it on a regular basis. But I don't see that happening this time round. Looking forward to it launching. Good article too, btw!
ReZourceman Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Sweet, may go for that Amazon bundle. After my casino winnings I was 96% going to get one....got home and got a tax rebate. Will pre-order tonight. Isn't it funny how things turn out sometimes.
Pit-Jr Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Preordered yesterday! I was going to try to wait for the first price drop but i have the willpower of a lemming. No matter though, as i find the asking price to be VERY suitable.
Daft Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 So what delivery option did you guys off Amazon to get it on launch? I hate paying for delivery.
Hero-of-Time Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Morrisons bundle has been revealed. PlayStation Vita, 4GB Memory Card, FIFA 12, Preorder Pack AND £25 Morrisons vouchers for £250 @ Morrisons (Preorders start Monday online and instore) Someone on Gaf pointed out this if you want Uncharted. Also, as I said before, Uncharted is £35 so with the £25 voucher that would be £260 for Wifi Vita/4GB memory/per-order pack/Fifa and Uncharted. I'm holding off to see what other offers come about. Rez needs this! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-Uncharted-Shock-Resistant-PlayStation/dp/B006ZN5URO/ref=sr_1_40?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1328158419&sr=1-40
Cube Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) I'm actually quite temped by the Amazon bundle. I was expecting it to be much more expensive. But £20 more than what I paid for the 3DS... Edit: Is Gravity Rush not a launch game? Edited February 2, 2012 by Cube

Happenstance Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I finally learnt my lesson with the 3DS, im not buying another handheld until there is a good amount of games I want and at the moment I dont think theres anything on the Vita I particularly want. I'll just keep an eye on game announcements for now I think.

Same here, as much as i'd like one the 3DS taught me its worth waiting six months, i love my 3DS now and have bought atleast 1 game per month since october, but before that...Lego star wars 3, street fighter and Oot and i sold all but Oot with the Vita 1 maybe two games interest me that are due within 3 months of launch other than those its psp/psone games and i already have something that can play those
Cube Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I have no plans for spending anything else this month... ..so I've given in. For now.
Daft Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Just pre-ordered the Vita (W-Fi only) + 8GB memory card + Lumines for £236 which is pretty ace. Anyone getting a case? I read the back scratches a little too easy and we don't want that now. Also, meditating on what other games to get for it. Supstardust Delta is a definite. I'll wait until I see a good price for Uncharted.
Pit-Jr Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I got the charging dock/stand thingy. Am i the only one?
Cube Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I got the charging dock/stand thingy. Am i the only one? It doesn't look like it's available in Europe.
Daft Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Does anyone know what is launching on PSN on launch day? Super Stardust Delta is, from what I understand. Is Wipeout? You get the PS3 version as well as the PSV one...right? Also, an idea on demos? I was thinking about getting FIFA but want to try it first.
ReZourceman Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Oh right, SSD Delta is a PSN game? Thought it was retail. Fuck, that case is WELL nice. Pricey though! Will probably get it though....definitely need a case. Erm, I also don't know which games to get? Do we have a launch list? I'm not sure I'll like Wipeout> didn't think much of previous ones. Erm. Yeah. And shit.
