EEVILMURRAY Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Losing a Pokémon Booster Draft Tournament today. Absolutely terrible, I had such a shitty draw. Talking to my parents about what to do when University finishes, they don't want me to move home, but also don't want me to get a flat until I get a full-time job. Pressure = on. Sigh. Not much pressure really. How long have you got left at uni? Plus with the wank quantity of jobs going at the moment it'll be hard to get one.
nightwolf Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I finish mid-April, I can't get a flat until I get a job, sure there's jobs out there, but I'm worried I won't get one in time, my contract for my flat and help for anything stops come July 1st. Sigh, stressy, stress, stress and I don't actually finish my university final project until may and have to organise an event too, argh. It's not as difficult as it seems, but still..I wish I had an extra year at uni like others, boo.
Ryuk Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I've been stuck babysitting since like 1pm its now half 8 grr another 3 hours to go
The Mad Monkey Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Fell asleep on the sofa last night and woke up this morning with a really stiff neck.
EEVILMURRAY Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Losing £50 at the casino last night. Whilst standing next to a Chinese person with about £2000 in £100 chips. Where do they get all this money?!
Murr Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Currently in work, running SQL Extracts... While hungover.

Where do they get all this money?! How old? A lot of younger asian immigrants around my way are international students. if you can afford international uni fees, you're probably from a pretty loaded family.

Dan_Dare Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 well, maybe. But lets assume you need a fair wad of disposable cash to get to 2 grand.
MoogleViper Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Or...he could be a regular gambler..? Well then he'd be even less likely to have £2000.

Diageo Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Got drunk, lost my passport and injured my knee.
The fish Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Got drunk, lost my passport and injured my knee. That sounds like a fairly typical night out - this is the worst things thread...
jayseven Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 "Thanks" is always hard to classify. I thank posts that amuse me, inform me, and even make me feel sad. Thanks should be noted to mean that gratuitious attention has been given to the post's subject. But yes, I lolled.
ipaul Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 That sounds like a fairly typical night out - this is the worst things thread... It's only the worst thing to happen in that day man

Magnus Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 The comments section/s of this article in the Daily Fail. This is awesome. I love observing bigotry in the wild. I especially enjoy the hang-ups people have about this being meant to "celebrate the gay community", even though the writer of the article seemingly made that part up herself.
MoogleViper Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 The comments section/s of this article in the Daily Fail. From the article: Geography lessons will explain why homosexuals move to cities I must have missed the gay urbanisation.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 The comments section/s of this article in the Daily Fail. As soon as people bring up "traditional moral values", I want to rip their heads off. It's such an outdated and fucking stupid concept.
chairdriver Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I must have missed the gay urbanisation. I take it you've never been on Gaydar? There's literally 100-200 times more gays in London and Manchester than anywhere else.
Eddage Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I take it you've never been on Gaydar? There's literally 100-200 times more gays in London and Manchester than anywhere else. Yeah but there's 100-200* times more people in London and Manchester than anywhere else... *These figures are undoubtedly wrong but the point still stands.
Dan_Dare Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 As soon as people bring up "traditional moral values", I want to rip their heads off. It's such an outdated and fucking stupid concept. I've found it hard to explain the Daily Mail to foreigners in the past, but one thing you have to understand is that it is an organisation that trades in, and profits wildly from, fear. Their readership are terrified- terrified of the gays, the muslims, the left, the immigrants, the liberated women. They fear them all and they hate them. The Daily Mail is all too happy to oblige their paranoia and appeal to their 'traditional moral values' while stirring up hate speech and poisonous rhetoric. It's a truly vile paper, rightfully despised.
