Daft Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Wow, this thread is guuuud reading. Some very funny posts. P.S. I can't thank anyone's post. What's up with that? Is it just me?
Happenstance Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Worked fine for me, maybe you have thanked too many people today?
Daft Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Total Thanks: 41Thanked 59 Times in 32 Posts I dunno, can one thank too many people? I actually quite like the idea i can be penalised for being too grateful.
KKOB Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I'd say get a PS3, it's cheaper in the long run, more reliable, plays Blurays for when you want that, you can swap out the HDD and replace it with a larger laptop drive, back up the drive via usb to keep things safe, and it's bloody quiet. Most games are multiformat but I'd argue Sony's original PSN games are better than the 360 equivalent.
Daft Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 But he isn't going to pay the current price for a PS3 so he might as well get the 360 and then sell it on when Sony drop the price again.
MoogleViper Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 Well I have the 360. Been playing GTAIV. Anyone recommend any good, cheap games to get me started? (I'm currently borrowing a few off of him.)
dwarf Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Can someone sig this? That was the gag, I swore multiple times, I was just fed up with him.
Gizmo Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Well I have the 360. Been playing GTAIV. Anyone recommend any good, cheap games to get me started? (I'm currently borrowing a few off of him.) Mass Effect can be found for less than a tenner these days. Bioshock if you haven't played it on PC, Forza 2 if you're into that sort of thing, Crackdown, Fable II, theres alot :p
Mundi Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Well I have the 360. Been playing GTAIV. Anyone recommend any good, cheap games to get me started? (I'm currently borrowing a few off of him.) Earth Defense Force if you want to some good local co-op. Dead Space if you want some horror. Saints Row 2 if you want a silly (fun) GTA clone. Crackdown, great for co-op too. Just from the top of my head.
Nolan Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Halo 3 is great for online Co-op. Rainbow 6 Vegas is great fun alone or online. The games other people mentioned too. Also, Bladestorm if you can find it. I quite liked it.
MoogleViper Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 I have Forza 2 on loan (already played it before. Got bored after a while, not my sort of thing) and Rainbow 6 vegas 2. Also have GOW, test drive and C&C3. Played Saints Row 2 and thought it was shite. Will have a look into the others.
ThePigMarcher Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I only came into read the thread and state 'yes' you should pick up a 360, as I haven't looked back since I got mine. That point is moot now anyway :p. However, this thread has also reinforced by desire/need to pick up a new telly when I get some funds, although I will say that I may be missing out a little bit, but my SDTV is also adequate enough for me for the time being.

Nolan Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 no. just no. To what? PGR? PGR is great. @Moogleviper, R6V2 is quite inferior to the first game actually. Still fun, but not as good.
Sheikah Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 You should definitely pick up Lost Odyssey. It's probably about a tenner now - it's a cracking 4-disc Japanese-style RPG with fun gameplay and nice settings. It looks really nice, too.
Cube Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 It's short, but pick up Bioshock. Bioshock is short???
Emerald Emblem Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Bioshock is short??? I bought it on Monday, finished it Tuesday night, so yeah, I classify it as short.
Daft Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I've completed Bioshock twice and I wouldn't say it was short. How many hours did you plug into it?! Actually, I always forget how long it is. That bit after Sander Cohen was like a second wind.
Deathjam Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I bought it on Monday, finished it Tuesday night, so yeah, I classify it as short. Took me AGES to complete it. Going back and starting over scares me.
Emerald Emblem Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) I've completed Bioshock twice and I wouldn't say it was short. How many hours did you plug into it?! Actually, I always forget how long it is. That bit after Sander Cohen was like a second wind. 18 hours, got 40 of the 51 achievements, nearly did all the research and rescued or harvested all the little sisters. I'll go back on hard later since it's an achievement. Edited August 21, 2009 by Emerald Emblem
Dan_Dare Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 he has a dumb ass JRPG avatar. I think he's suffering from warped perceptions of time.
LegoMan1031 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Based on ur situation get the 360 for that price and then get the ps3. You can't go wrong with both! Although it can get quite annoying how u cant play both of them at the same time!!
