Dyson Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I was wondering if anyone new of any good text message alert ringtones? Preferably from games; I've been using the MGS codec call sound for ages now but it's lost it's charm. So yeah, what with it being a text ringtone it's gotta be something like a sound effect as opposed to a piece of music! Any suggestions/places to download such files would be awesome
Dyson Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Actually yeah, I'd quite like the jingle you get in Zelda when you step on a switch or something, but dunno where to get such things
thunderer Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Google my boy, google until you can no longer be bothered and you put up with the MGS codec call sound for a bit longer.
jayseven Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 London N-E Meet! Hyde Park! Hungover! On 2nd can of the day! Then BAM! suddenly we've all got the codec as our ringtones. Awesome. I have my phone on silent. My old phone had a recording of the wind blowing through a door in an amusing fashion. As for your problem, I have no help for you.
Ashley Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Worms soundbites are sometimes used. If you have the game install I presume you can find them in a directory but google will help. Heres one for now: http://www.mobiles24.com/downloads/s/77669-3-worms-worms_incoming (and mine is Wall-E saying "Woah!" Good times)
EEVILMURRAY Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I wish I could change the message tone in my phone. This has inspired me to try something I have been considerings. Ringtones however, easily, go to the Galbadia. Although at the moment I've got the Screenwipe intro as my ringtone.
ShadowV7 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Metroid and Zelda jingles always work :P Got the Lost Woods for my ring tone and the tune for when you get a big item from a chest for my texts
Ten10 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I conveniently use the 'Calling' song from the world ends with you, very fitting for a mobile. But some times also night of the big blue from F-zero GX.
Dyson Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Screenwipe intro...excellent idea. Although I found some sounds; my text tone is Sonic collecting an air bubble from Sonic 2 at the moment, I also have the Bowser message from SM64 on there as a backup. I was considering using Worms sounds, I've been playing Worms Armageddon a lot recently
Beast Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Go onto http://www.zedge.net, it has free ringtones and you'll find loads of gaming ones, my message tone is Wall.E (WAHHAAAAAL.EEEEEE, lol) and I love it, haha.
DiemetriX Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Just click the link in my sig. Then they are on the top right
MoogleViper Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 The battle victory theme from Final Fantasy.
Charlie Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Got the Lost Woods for my ring tone and the tune for when you get a big item from a chest for my texts I used to have exactly the same on my old phone! I've now gone for the classic ringing sound and 'Horn' for texts as they're both the loudest I can get on my phone.
darksnowman Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 The battle victory theme from Final Fantasy. I have the very start bit of that for my message ringtone.
Dan_Dare Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I've got the item fanfare off super metroid as my text tone. It's completely baddass.
Mundi Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I have Navi from Ocarina Of Time saying "Hey listen!" as my message tone and alarm clock it is obnoxiously awesome.
Gizmo Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I did have the Zelda "puzzle complete" jingle as my message tone until I got my current one. Why do Samsung not let you change the message tone beyond 5 presets? It's stupid.

Why do Samsung not let you change the message tone beyond 5 presets? It's stupid. I feel that. It's bullshit. Ony my old Samsung phone there was a pr0 preset, I called it The Elevator. Now I have some dodgy almost similar sounding thing. I don't think it's possible to get into it using the software on the PC that one can do for music/ringtones, I might give it a try, renaming/editing the file or something.

EEVILMURRAY Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 One gaming ringtone I have used in my time was this from Golden Sun 2:
arab_freak Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I've been using the MGS codec call sound for ages now but it's lost it's charm. You mean the "AUX call" sound? Do you have a link for that? I'd love to have it. I'd love to help you but unfortunately I only have full-length music tracks as ringtones, so...yeah.
Mike Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I've got the fanfare from WarioWare as my text tone at the moment, and Ashley's Theme for my ringtone. I've had loads of gaming related message tones in the past, though, including the 'new trophy' tone from Smash, the 'super mushroom' bleep from Mario Bros, and the 'new item' from Metroid and Zelda. All from Galbadia.
