Platty Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I don't get why you think mika should admit to being gay? Do you think that straight artists should admit that they are straight?
DomJcg Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I don't get why you think mika should admit to being gay? Do you think that straight artists should admit that they are straight? im pretty sure no ones flat out asked him anyways...
LukeLee Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 i'm sure he's come out as being gay. Doesn't matter anyway.
Dog-amoto Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I couldn't be bothered reading this entire thread (seems to have evolved into a music discussion somewhere along the way), but I will put my two pennies in anyway. I'm touching 30 now, and went though all that stuff whilst at school. I'm now divorced and have a new girlfriend, and I also have gay friends that I've stayed in touch with through the years. To the people who were mentioning homophobic chavs who say stuff like "bums to the wall lads" have you ever thought that the ones who are perhaps trying a little too hard to show that they are straight are maybe hiding something themselves? I remember seeing something a while ago that showed a bunch of homophobic guys who were made to watch gay porn, and a lot of them actually showed signs of excitement even though they tried to hide it - they were wired up to a heart monitor and such. So whenever you see these little toads trying a bit too hard to show they are straight, plesae feel free to question their own sexuality. By the way, what does QFT mean???
Twilight Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 By the way, what does QFT mean??? Quoted For Truth.
The fish Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 ;470956]p.s. "blatantly obvious" is wrong. Its the same word. Sorry' date=' pet peeve of mine.[/quote'] You bastard! From now on, when ever I see that, it's gonna annoy me!

Exactly right. well from what im aware the man is constantly giving clues in his interviews, so i just think he should tell people now... when in 8 months time the innevitable is announced just because he has a new record coming out, the publicity stunt will happen and that will frustrate the hell outta me... What does it f-ing matter??
somme Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 "Then Billie Brown fell in love with another man...." Billie Brown is a hilarious song on Mika's album. About a gay man who ends up going with a woman then falling in love with a man or something. It's funny anyways. Loads of musicians are gay, and not all of them flaunt it, not all of them have to. Placebo really pushed the androgenous, "I fuck anything that moves," "50% of our band are gay," thing. They really regretted it in latter years, although did like the fact they made a lot of people more comfortable about their sexuality. PJ Harvey on the other hand has stated in one interview, which was with Bjork (who is infamously bisexual) that she would go with women. However she doesn't rave on about it, sometimes the music is more important. Although image is everything.
chairdriver Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Realistically; being crazy and like being bisexual on rainy days makes musicians more fun and interesting. Like Bjork is THE person to be bisexual only on Tuesdays. Coming out as gay actually made Will Young into an interesting musician.
mcj metroid Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 To 'admit' it makes it sound like a bad thing or something he's keeping totally hidden. Why should his sexuality have fuck all with his music?! (unless of course he starts writing gay lyrics and even if that is the case, it's still music, not 'gay music') That bothers me a lot but i guess music these is literally all image first and then music second. i mean you do have to be good looking... I blame music videos:)
4q2 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Coming out as gay actually made Will Young into an interesting musician. Did it.....? I was under the impression that even if he came out as being alien it could'nt make him more interesting To the people who were mentioning homophobic chavs who say stuff like "bums to the wall lads" have you ever thought that the ones who are perhaps trying a little too hard to show that they are straight are maybe hiding something themselves? I think if anyone has to have some repeated problem or 'negative interest' with something it is a mirror of their interest or usually something they themselves think they will get kicked to death for. (There have been a few comments observed in this thread that I read as negative interest, but I wont point any fingers)...

It makes everyone a lot more fun.
somme Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I remember being 13 and not sure whether this was a man or a woman: It was a simpler time..lol
motion Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Ok can we talk about something a little less gay please?
chairdriver Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I remember being 13 and not sure whether this was a man or a woman: It was a simpler time..lol Lol is that actually a man or a woman? I'm confused... *Has the mental age of a 13 year old*
Daft Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Lol is that actually a man or a woman? I'm confused... *Has the mental age of a 13 year old* Its the dude from Placebo. I think he is called Brian Molko.
Razz Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 the first time i saw cher on tv, when i was younger, i thought she was a man.
Ellmeister Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Its the dude from Placebo. I think he is called Brian Molko. WTF! I thought it was that actress from james bond playing money Penny at first O.o Oh dear.
KKOB Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 BRIAN MOLKO FTW!! I wasn't sure of his sex or sexuality at first! lol
somme Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 BRIAN MOLKO FTW!! I wasn't sure of his sex or sexuality at first! lol Haha, it was all in good fun. His hair during the "Sleeping With Ghosts" era was just awful. Silly fringe nonsense. I keep scaring some new guys at work. Bless them they're not very smart. (They are from Basildon) They found out I was gay and they'd just been saying stuff like, "That's really gay" in front of me, and they thought they'd offended me. So now I say "hate crime" after everything they say. They think I'm gonna sue them.
Ant-Shimmin Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I just found out one of my mates from primary school was gay, pretty hilarious to hear at first - cos it was so unexpected. But yeah im going to treat him the same as I did before, no doubt. You Still Gonna suck his cock?
mcj metroid Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 You Still Gonna suck his cock? Haha that was so random
killthenet Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Kid I knew at secondary school was imprisoned for molesting some kids at some point last year. He used to give us stuff if we'd be his friend, pokemon cards, tippex mice, those go-go things. He was a strange kid. It was no surprise.
