Guest Jordan Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 TAKE THE CHAIR! FOOL! *Lobs chair at guy* A weird direction for the series, can't wait though... i adored Double Agent. I dunno if i like the new direction for Sam though. I liked his baldness.
Aimless Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 TAKE THE CHAIR! FOOL!*Lobs chair at guy* The soundbyte will be, "Here, have a seat!" Sam Fisher now looks like some weird crossbreed of Solid Snake and Peter Petrelli. And the game sounds like Splinter Creed, but I suppose that's no bad thing. Is this still supposed to be 360 exclusive?
Calza Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Yeah it is a definate 360 exclusive. Ubisoft have said that since it was announced.
rokhed00 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Sam Fisher goes emo? Fair enough, make him unkempt, but that fringe is taking things too far.
gmac Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 looking pretty good so far, I doubt he'll spend the whole game in this "emo" look though :p
Retro_Link Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 Sam Fisher goes emo?Fair enough, make him unkempt, but that fringe is taking things too far. Looks more like a homeless person to me....Well he is a fugitive in this game, he's just trying to blend in!
BeerMonkey Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 long hair is emo ? looks pretty cool cant wait to whack some fucker with a chair!
Solo Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Damn this game looks nice. Although hopefully they ditch the lame Headquaters style missions. Hopefully one of his later gadgets will be a Mach 3 turbo.
Aimless Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Damn this game looks nice. Although hopefully they ditch the lame Headquaters style missions. Hopefully one of his later gadgets will be a Mach 3 turbo. You'll have to buy new blades over Marketplace. I assume by "Headquaters style missions" you're referring to the bits in the terrorist base in Double Agent. If so, it sounds like the game is more focused on hiding in plain sight than the shadows, so don't be surprised if most of the missions can be played in a similar way to the HQ missions from the last game. Still, it sounds like they're trying to cater for player choice with their level designs, so I'd imagine you can still play it the traditional way if you prefer. So far the game sounds really cool, but that doesn't mean much until we get to see more of the actual product. I thought Double Agent sounded like a really good idea, but in the end it was just one of those yawnsome KOTOR-esque binary morality scales. Here's hoping a single platform and the Montreal team can make this a winner.
flameboy Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 You'll have to buy new blades over Marketplace. Yeah...micro transactions are the future...

Choze Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/49278.html Teaser. More stuff tonight.
The fish Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/49278.html Teaser. More stuff tonight. Ooh, Malta, looks cool. My prediction is that you have the island to go where you want on, and can, in the style of what Assassin's Creed should have been, be either stealthy by being socially acceptable, or completely unseen. I hope they make combat something to avoid because it's dangerous and genuinely hampering, and not just shite.
LazyBoy Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Damn its been a while. I confident in thinking though that this'll be out by Chirstmas. Good thing too, I need my fix. I hope there's a decent co-op as well, since this setting would work great with one guy causing a distraction and the other sneaking in to do his shit, having to get in and get out before the other guy gets overpowered.
drahkon Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 "Improvisation" gameplay? Sounds great. Never gotten into the series. Played Pandora Tomorrow and I actually didn't like it. But Conviction appears to be something I'd enjoy. hope there's a decent co-op as well, since this setting would work great with one guy causing a distraction and the other sneaking in to do his shit, having to get in and get out before the other guy gets overpowered. Love the idea. Co-op (online!) in this seems like a must (at least for me).
Daft Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Is this still 360 exclusive? I'd be an envious PS3 owner if I didn't have both the consoles...and a Wii.
MATtheHAT Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 You know, I am sort of hoping this is a 360 exclusive. It will give me a reason to keep my Xbox other than Gears 2. And I have not played a Splinter Cell game since Pandora Tomorrow, is Double Agent any good on the Xbox? I know it has some issues on the PS3.
dwarf Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 (edited) Yeah I'm slightly jealous of this exclusive but again it's one of those I could live without. I've not really had much playtime with a splintercell game, mostly just watched my cousin do it and then I tried and failed. It's more stealthy than an MGS game probably, maybe not than 2 though. Is it me or do the boards seem more alive now this thread has been made. It's like I'm the only that posts anymore! that comment could backfire Edited May 15, 2009 by dwarf
