GothicPlague Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 So the new Kasabian album is out! Has anyone got it yet? I'm about to hunt for it now.. Got it last week or a couple of weeks ago not listened to it much but it's a pretty good album and better than Empire. Underdog is the first track on the album also used in the Sony Kaka adverts Audio
Dyson Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Aye, literally just finished the first track; it's a good'un.
Dan_Dare Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Just bought Sound Of Silver by LCD Soundsystem, currently listening and it's pretty good stuff. Any other fans of them on here? Quality album. I heart Dance Rock/ Punk/ Whateverz.
GothicPlague Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 So from my one listen to the Passion Pit album the one stand out track for me was The Reeling which I do quite love. Perhaps when I give them a better listen some more tracks will catch my attention.
Paj! Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I love Mirwais's production on American Life by Madonna. I know nothing of him by himself, only that he produced such awesome beats. It's the album her main fanbase don't really like, but it's probably her least...mainstream-sounding. (apart from Ray Of Light, but that was hugely successful, so negated the fact). With heavy bass, I jizz all over this song. (not very good quality) EDIT: I think the video version cuts out a long bit of just instrumental.
dan-likes-trees Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Wow.Wow. Wow! Wow!? Yes! Wow. Haha, glad you liked it Incidentally, I had a dream last night that I saw T&S live but my friend made me miss the encore... despite it only being a dream Im still angry at her. Well that sounded lame. Just bought Sound Of Silver by LCD Soundsystem, currently listening and it's pretty good stuff. Any other fans of them on here? Yarr, it's a good'un. More a fan of their self titled album myself, Daft Punk is Playign at My House + Movement < 3 So from my one listen to the Passion Pit album the one stand out track for me was The Reeling which I do quite love. Perhaps when I give them a better listen some more tracks will catch my attention. Manners is my one of my albums of the year thus far. Little Secrets and To Kingdom Come are highlights for me.

I just love American Life. It just sounds really unique.
Coolness Bears Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Just bought Sound Of Silver by LCD Soundsystem, currently listening and it's pretty good stuff. Any other fans of them on here? Win. Tis most excellent. I've been making my Summer Playlist today. (on spotify at least) So far it is complete fail as I've just dumped a whole load of songs in there but I got sidetracked with the Tennis. In other news Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest is definately my second favourite album thus far in 2009! Top Five: 1. Bat for Lashes - Two Suns 2. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest 3. Patrick Wolf - The Bachelor 4. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion 5. Miley Cyrus - Hannah Montana Movie Haha! :p
Paj! Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I find Two Suns dissapointingly dated and muted in production. Live the songs are great, but they lost they're initial shine quickly on the studio versions.
jayseven Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Off the top of my head: Muse - Hysteria Radiohead - Idioteque Rise Against - Injection Brand New - Sic Transit Gloria mewithoutYou - Wolf Am I Get Cape Wear Cape Fly - Call Me Ishmael Young Sawbones - Straw Dogs Gorillaz - 5/4 Incubus - Out From Under Silverstein - Always And Never I have quite a narrow taste really. Theres alt rock stuff, hardcore stuff, acoustic stuff, and thats about it. I would say, that brand new track is their most poppy one! Shame on yeee! But the mwY track is definitely in my top twelve by them. :P I won't even try to pick a bw or mwY track below! Tracks. Sentimentality drools and stains! So rich, so fatty, they clog my veins! Totally Radd!! - Video Store Stellastarr* - My Coco The Beatles - Yellow Submarine Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief Zeromancer - Need You Like A Drug David Grey - Babylon Lighthouse - Lifted Maximo Park - Going Missing Bright Eyes - No Lies, Just Love Element Eighty - Pancake Land MC Vapour Feat Ali G - Jungle Is Massive (Wicked) Jummy Eat World - For Me This Is Heaven The Used - Poetic Tragedy Hot Hot Heat - Bandages Velvet Acid Christ - Phucking Phreak This band My dad Liked - Some song where they go "shiiiiiir--t!" Over and over. Ok that's enough memoring* now. Memoring: The act of an individual recalling more and more memories about themselves that nobody else gives a shit about.

Oxigen_Waste Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 30 Seconds to Mars are average-to-good. My favourite song is probably: (holy shit, when you search youtube for 30 seconds to mars, even if you have a different song title in the search terms, every single video seems to be The Kill) Meh, I used to love them when I was a kid and their first album came out. Capricorn was one of my fav songs... And in comparison to nowaday's shit, it's still much better. I loved Buddha For Mary so much. They had a Tool-ish vibe back then. Still fucking sucked, though, lol.
ipaul Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 10 of my favourite songs at the moment: Piezo - Autechre Get Innocuous! - LCD Soundsystem Careful - Hot Chip Welcome To The Machine - Pink Floyd All Of My Love - Led Zeppelin Sex Born Poison - Air Warrior's Dance - The Prodigy The Glass Road - Squarepusher The Rip - Portishead Pyramid Song - Radiohead Who likes my list then? :P
Slaggis Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) 10 fave songs at the moment. Demi Lovato - Get Back Tori Amos - Taxi Ride 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill Fall Out Boy - Sugar We're Goin' Down Soho Dolls - Stripper The Gossip - Heavy Cross Britney - Gimme More Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles Demi Lovato - Don't Forget Ashley Tisdale - Masquerade (Coolness! Have you got her new album?) -- Demi Lovato has a new album out in July, and I'm oddly hyped for it. Her voice is absolutely amazing, and even more so considering she's only just 16. Actually stunning, when live. The sheer power behind her voice is amazing. Her live performance of "Don't Forget" is better than the studio version, by a longshot. She's working with John Mayer and William Beckett (The Academy is...) on the new album, so I can't wait to hear it. Oh, and I don't care if I've posted this video before, waaay back. It's freaking brilliant. Edited June 8, 2009 by Slaggis

Ashley Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 As Hands is out today whose heard it? I can't as it's not out here for a month (although still wouldn't be able to listen til I got home...)
Slaggis Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) As Hands is out today whose heard it? I can't as it's not out here for a month (although still wouldn't be able to listen til I got home...) *Raises Hand* (I just realised what a terrible pun that is. Honestly wasn't intentional :p) It's rather good, but not as amazing as I was expecting. "Earthquakes" is brilliant, as is "Remedy" and then obviously "Mathematics" and "Meddle". Ashley Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Oh and the song thing umm Phoenix - listomania Little Boots - new in town (fred faulke remix) Cut copy - far away (some remix...) Daft Punk - something about us Justice - dvno (live) Yeah yeah yeahs - runaway Bloc party - your visits are getting shorter Kanye west - flashing lights Air - one hell of a party fun. - the gambler Ta Slaggis. I'm looking forward to it but I think it's going to be one of those that needs lots of remixes. Edited June 8, 2009 by Ashley
Coolness Bears Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Ashley Tisdale - Masquerade (Coolness! Have you got her new album?) I have not. is it out?
Slaggis Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) I have not. is it out? It leaked (Supposedly on purpose), so I've been giving it a try. There's a couple of great tracks on there, though it's all amazingly trashy. "Masquerade" and "Erase and Rewind" are so damn catchy. Audio Ta Slaggis. I'm looking forward to it but I think it's going to be one of those that needs lots of remixes. Change my username to that. Now. Edited June 8, 2009 by Slaggis Automerged Doublepost
nightwolf Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Little Boots - new in town (fred faulke remix) I actually quite like it as far as remixes go, just downloading the album now. Can't wait. Its good car music thats for sure! Jay mentioned the used, I've not listened to them in an age, not since I saw them at give it a name, that was yonks ago!
Gizmo Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I would say, that brand new track is their most poppy one! Shame on yeee! But the mwY track is definitely in my top twelve by them. :P I won't even try to pick a bw or mwY track below! Tracks. Sentimentality drools and stains! So rich, so fatty, they clog my veins! I just love the beat to STG. And the chorus is awesome. But tbh, it could have been virtually any Brand New track in there. Guernica? 70x7? Tommy Gun? And as for mwY, Wolf Am I is by far my favourite track. Something about it that just works. It flows, it's got a good beat, it's got great lyrics. Actually, listening to those two back to back, I'm seeing a pattern, with both having the same kind of punchy beat. Awesome.
Roostophe Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 j7's choice of My Coco by Stellastarr*...I need to YT that shit, not heard it in years, but I always remember it. Top 10 song thingies at the mo... The Animals - House of the Rising Sun Mastodon - Colony of Birchmen Talking Heads - Psycho Killer Alice In Chains - Would? Coheed & Cambria - The Running Free At The Drive-In - One Armed Scissor Bad Manners - Special Brew Madness - Baggy Trousers The Specials (or The Special AKA) - Gangsters Daft Punk - Veridis Quo
