Graphically they seem to have used a similar style to The Walking Dead, and I thought that worked really well. It resembles the style of the comic. Telltale have for me just been improving all of the time with the quality of their games, so I'm excited by this.

How'd you get on? I can empathise completely with the frustration of being out through injuries, so hope it was the return and win you needed Murr! Mcmanaman's tackle was awful. It was a complete accident, probably due to a lack of experience from a young lad on his debut. Hopefully it won't spoil the start of a promising career and Wigan will sort him out in private. I think the Premier League Title was Man Utd's a long time ago. They've been consistent without being outstanding, which has become something of a Man U trait over the years, but always good enough to win games. Sadly there just hasn't been anyone else with any consistency this year.

Knightmare was absolutely brilliant!!! I couldn't wait for Fridays when I was younger so I could watch Treguard, Pickle, Lord Fear & co as teenagers tried (& often failed) to negotiate the virtual dungeon. Even looking back on it now, there were so many bits about the show to enjoy. Despite the puzzles and challenges often having set solutions, the unpredictability of the players meant that the viewers (& the actors in the game) didn't know what they were going to do. "Oooohh nasty!!!"

This may / undoubtedly wishful thinking, but since it's simultaneous I foresee Iwatu doing minimal talking and blowing us away with footage of: Pokemon Snap 2 Wii U (game pad used in a similar style to the plaza in Nintendo Land) Updates to Pokedex app on 3DS New Pokemon RPG game that can be played on both WiiU and 3DS (ala Monster Hunter) with cell shading graphics. Nintendo, you have our attention!

I pre-ordered and picked it up in-store on release day. I was slightly frustrated that none of the staff had even heard of it, so the chance of them persuading other customers will be slim-to-none in my local Game. Since playing it though, I've been hooked! I loved 999, which was a hidden gem after I bought the import version, and I have become addicted to the wonderfully intricate story of Virtue's Last Reward. I've still got at least 6 endings still to get too!

I did exactly the same Ramar. I had a whole raft of GBA games I'd held back on registering so that they wouldn't expire until something I wanted came up. Then when I needed the extra couple of thousand points I wasn't able to register the majority of them! Frustrating! As an aside, does the WiiU come with a stars card? I didn't have one in mine.

A truly sad day as he was someone that always showed great knowledge and insight with everything he did. He will always be The Gamesmaster to me and he was someone that inspired so many people to learn more about Astronomy.

What an absolutely fantastic year it's been for UK sport in general. A very well deserved list of finalists, for whom in some years their achievements would've put them head and shoulders above the rest, but such is the magnitude of the quality of sport this year there's no guaranteed winner. Congrats to all the names on the list. I see the top 4 being Bradley Wiggins, Andy Murray, Mo Farah and Ben Ainslee.

I've just noticed hat on the Game website the game is now out! Maybe I just completely missed it, but it says it was released on November 2nd. Has anyone got it/ actually seen it?!? If so then initial thoughts please?

That's true that Rare were good enough to include some Stop N Swop rewards with the XBox versions. It would've been really interesting to know just what the original rewards would've been (as Gamerpics clearly weren't the original intention). Banjo-Kazooie served as a wonderful insight into the ideas that go into games and the type of features that were developed but never fully implemented.

I'd just like to add my admiration to the glowing memories of Banjo-Kazooie. The tightly designed levels were great in that there was always so much to do & not far from a collectible, enemy, or challenge. Special mention must go to the wonderfully designed Click Clock Wood, and the consistently excellent and memorable soundtrack. It's a shame that they were never able to fully implement Stop N Swop, one of the great mysteries of the N64 generation. Wozza and Ice Mario were persistent in their search for the truth and uncovered so many additional unused features and ideas (Bottles Revenge anyone?) that they even added to the legacy of the series. Grunty's Revenge was a good effort at bringing the Banjo gameplay to the GameBoy Advance. Banjo-Tooie was probably too large, which detracted from the ideas it had and some of the clever integration between levels. Oh, and the walking innuendo that was Jolly Roger and his whole level! Rare's sense of humour at it's finest! How it'd be great to see another proper Banjo platformer. Rare's priorities don't seem to be on that type of game at the moment, but I suppose you never know what the future holds!

A new Zelda showing in the 3DS conference??
WackerJr replied to Beaneth007's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It would be nice for there to be further surprises to unveil this E3, although right now I'm not feeling that optimistic, since the potential for big surprises seems to have fizzled out this convention. Still, wouldn't it be nice to get a trailer or images of a new Zelda, maybe the Smash Bros 3DS game, Metroid Dread, and a new Final Fantasy title..... A man can dream! -
Heehee @Magnus. I'm enjoying this game. Yes I'm terrible at it, but it's fun nonetheless and looking forward to the next round!
-
It was just so very underwhelming. Professional and technically very good, with the displays, lighting, and music. Sadly, from a gaming point of view, and the reason a lot of people are interested in the Conference there just wasn't a huge amount to get excited about. It spoke volumes just how funny the audience found the jokes by Matt and Trey about Smart Glass! I'm expecting so much more from both Sony and Nintendo later!

Wow, without cheating I really don't know. Good choices Dog-amoto! Complete guesses: 3. Turok 2 4. Sonic the Hedgehog 5. Shinobi 6. Grim Fandango Like I said, no idea! But worth a guess anyway! :-)

I loved the soundtrack (so much so that I paid for an import CD of it). This is a cracking remix that actually makes me want to load it back up again and experience the joy that was Wind Waker (yes even despite the copious amounts of sailing and Triforce quest!)

Wii Virtual Console is back from the dead!
WackerJr replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
There's still life in the old dog yet it seems! Really glad they've put the demoes back up in the WiiWare section, and it's good to see more titles being added to the Virtual Console. -
3222-5566-1724 Can't believe it's taken me so long to add my code! Please feel free to add me, although my artistic skills are limited at Letterbox but I promise at least you won't receive constant pictures of the human anatomy!

I had exactly the same experience, having previously only played Metroid 2 from a friend and never really getting into it. Metroid Fusion got me excited about the Metroid series and was the reason I went on to purchase and enjoy the other games in the series.

Game Boy Games That Pushed The Limits
WackerJr replied to mr_bogus's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Good article, I enjoyed the read and it was impressive what developers were able to accomplish with such limitations. Here are the games from the list that I own: Warlocked Cannon Fodder Donkey Kong Country (GBC) Mario Tennis Perfect Dark Legend of Zelda: Oracle games For all of these games you could really tell they were pushing the capabilities of the machine, and I can remember all of them for making me incredibly impressed with what I was playing. Whether it be the FMV (Cannon Fodder, the use of speech and rumble (Perfect Dark) or the sheer scope, scale and detail (Zelda). I'm not sure that any of the games were massive sellers (Zelda notwithstanding), so I would love to see the games brought to an even larger audience with a re-release on the 3DS' Virtual Console.
