Awesome news! I absolutely can't wait! Hopefully they release it over here too, although with an English language option and voices I can't see why they wouldn't.
-
Yep, all done, best of luck Mark! The website you run looks good too, wish I'd've had something like that when I finished Uni.

It's been delayed a little longer on PS4... :-( Looking forward to reading the impressions of Book 3 though, hope it's good!

The Kickstarter's been a wonderful success for these guys & hopefully it's brought attention to the appeal that's still out there for a good 3D plat former. Rare had such a great reputation from the N64 days & so many people are disheartened with where they are now. Well done to Playtonic Games. I'm sure they can do the support proud, and I can't wait to play it!

This is such a clever way of promoting a game. Between the Treehouse and the Championships I'm sold on just hoe exciting (Super) Mario Maker could be!
-
It seems more of a mini-game as opposed to a fully fledged title. It does seem quite fun, but will need online multiplayer to stand any chance.

I'm enjoying watching the 200cc vs 150cc comparison videos that Nintendo are showing through sites such as Facebook. You can really see the difference in speed! The F-Zero track is suddenly looking much closer to it's source material!

Drat, they've come and gone again! On the plus side, my Super Smash Bros CD arrived yesterday!

It's terrific that they've decided to redo this classic for the new consoles and up-to-date PCs. Like Jimbob I need to clear some of my backlog first, but I'm looking forward to revisiting this enjoyable adventure. Hopefully this will continue the vein of getting other classic point and click games to be remade. Monkey Island got the repackaging spot on, here's hoping for more Day of the Tentacle, Toon Struck & Indiana Jones! (I'm not too worried about The Dig mind!)

May seem a daft question but what devices can you watch everything on? Once you sign up can you then watch it from any device? I'm keen to get to for the Rumble, but won't be able to stay up live so hoping I can watch it replayed at some point the next day, so guess I need to check how that works, unless someone knows?

Awesome Games Done Quick Jan 4th - 10th
WackerJr replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Wow the event was terrific and raised over $1m for charity. Some of those runs were incredible & I enjoyed seeing some of the game designers get involved as well, whether through commentary or fielding questions about their game. The commentaries are good as well, explaining tips on the games or how certain tricks work, even if the quality of the commentators can be a bit hit or miss at times. Some of those runs are definitely worth a recap via YouTube. -
That's brilliant news that it's coming back. I'm a little disappointed that it looks to pitching it to an even younger audience than before, but it's always nice to see an 'old friend'. Like others have said, A-Double is a great choice as a replacement to voice DM.

Drat. Can I wait that long....? Cheers for that Sméagol, appreciate the response.

I absolutely loved the 1st two games and, like many others, have been waiting for the third game to follow up on the story that had left me with so much intrigue. Plus, it's one of the few games in which my other half got into and enjoyed as well! She'll be delighted to know it's now out and a game we can actually enjoy together. Pleased to see so e good first impressions. Does anyone know if this is out on PS4 yet or whether a release date has been set?

Super Smash Bros. Wii U Direct (23rd October 23:00)
WackerJr replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Wow, for a game we thought we knew pretty much everything about, there was a heck of a lot of new & exciting information! -
Hey, can't believe I missed this thread before! PS4 owner with username WackerJr37. XBox 360 owner with username WackerJr Cheers!

It reminds me a little of the Volleyball game included within one of the Mario Party GameCube games. It's a fun concept although I do wonder how much depth there would have been. The wrestling aspect intrigues me, although I'd need to be convinced that Nintendo characters would be suited to more serious grappling as opposed to the much more cartoony and exaggerated battling in Smash Bros. I enjoyed Beach Spikers on GC, but again there's only so much depth to a Volleyball game. Nice find though, and it's been interesting to read about these concepts that have been shown to Nintendohat have come about recently.

Old Super Mario Bros. film development hell
WackerJr replied to Sméagol's topic in General Chit Chat
That was really interesting. I knew some of the story about the ridiculous changes in producer, etc. but I didn't realise that about the likes of Tom Hanks and Dustin Hoffman. Things could have turned out very differently! -
I just flicked in and put occasionally, but I enjoyed what I saw. Using the Treehouse team is a great concept. They're clearly passionate about games and come across really well I think.

For me, of the more recent generations, two TV tie-ins were utter tripe: Lost and Prison Break. I'd read the reviews and knew they weren't very good, but thought I'd find enjoyment as a fan of the shows. Needless to say, there was no pleasure to be found here! Thank goodness they were 2nd hand and cost me less than a tanner altogether. Lesson learned!

I agree that the missions are excellent! I finished the main game quicker than I'd've liked, although it was great fun while it lasted. I didn't expect to spend much time on the missions, but I was hooked! Clearing each stage is tough as well & is so rewarding when you finally manage to crack it!
-
I saw that too. Good of Nintendo to put out a thank you message to the players. Daft question though, what is the "no Johns" reference? To do with the E3 tournament? I managed the fit in some of Evo 2014 and it was sensational! The BlazBlue final in particular I was on the edge of my seat!

Hang on, I'm in Spain at the moment (celebrating my birthday) - how come my body doesn't look anything like that!?!
