  1. Wikipedia says December 7th, so I just assumed that was correct. Anyway, a developer shutting down wouldn't impact the release of a finished game as long as the publisher is still around. Edit: Oh, I see what you're saying - that they may have shut down the studio before they finished work on the Wii U version. I wouldn't worry yet.
  2. Well, they don't burn every copy of a game when the developer shuts down, so yes.

  4. Yeah, you should have used a gender-neutral insult, Daft. Way to be sexist!
  5. Sexist homophobes are people too, Daft. Well, he's dead now, so I guess he's not a person anymore.
  6. And when you do have someone in your bedroom, gaming is the last thing on your mind! I played New Super Mario Bros. Wii with my brother, and there were some Star Coins where one of us would just commit suicide to get them. Certainly made things a bit easier. Maybe if this game is as hard as people say, I'll have to use the pad to place some platforms for myself. :p
  7. You should have invited a friend over to place platforms for you. :p I don't mind the game telling me that I suck and offering to play the levels for me (well, I don't mind that much), but I hated the way the shiny stars were so easy to lose forever in the last several games. So as long as that's no longer the case, I'm good!
  8. So since everyone seems to die so much, does that mean that you're finally allowed to die more than five times in a level without the game penalizing you by taking away your shiny stars forever? I imagine I will get very frustrated otherwise. :p
  9. Bioshock 2 takes place eight years after the first game and stars a completely different cast of characters. I'm sure it had some nods to the first game, but it's not really a story sequel in that sense. I thought the game was pretty disappointing. Because the gameplay is mostly untouched and the setting is the same, it just feels like you're going through the first game again, except the maps are different and now you can dual-wield. It's the typical sequel you get when you get a different studio to make a sequel while the original studio works on a proper sequel. The first Bioshock is well worth playing, though. Of course, my favorite 'shock game is still System Shock 2, but not one ever wants to play that because it's old and an abandoned space station doesn't have the same draw as an underwater city. :p
  10. If it's anything like Bioshock, going in fresh will just make the gameplay more impressive. :p According to Wikipedia, they have neither confirmed nor denied if the game has any story connections to the other Bioshock games. I kind of doubt you'll be missing out on anything big even if it does, though.
  11. It's essentially just this Space Invaders comic with a Super Mario theme and in video form. Plus I kind of feel like the whole "oh, the goombas aren't evil and Mario's a terrible person for killing them" thing has been done to death, but oh well. :p
  12. I think it would make more sense to play the games on an emulator, take pictures of yourself doing so and sending them to Iwata. "Hahaha, I didn't want to pay £20 for twenty-year-old games anyway!"
  13. Yeah, that's going to stop us.
  14. Wow, it took six whole games to win? No wonder you felt so proud when you finally won.
  15. I started up a browser version of Fanorona and played (browser) computer against (game) computer. It still ended in a stalemate the first time.
  16. I went back to get the last few trophies I could be bothered to get last night. How annoying are the boardgames? I'd tried playing Nine Men's Morris on the ship near the beginning of the game and eventually vowed to never play it again after losing a dozen times in a row. Then I played it in the Homestead and won on my first try. So I thought Fanorona would be a piece of cake. I'd played it once before in a tavern and managed to win (barely), so I figured it couldn't be that hard. Oh, how naive I was. The AI was ruthless and every time I thought he'd take one or two of my pieces, he just kept moving and moving until he'd pretty much cleared the board. The few times I actually did okay, he'd create a wall with his pieces that I couldn't get close to without losing a piece and he'd just move the same piece back and forth, thus creating a stalemate. Every. Single. Time. So I cheated. The end. I don't really understand what you're saying here, unless you really didn't realize that you can zoom out the map so it shows the entire east coast, zoom in on a different area and fast-travel directly there. Edit: Yeah, what Diego said.
  17. I bet region-locking is Germany's fault, too.
  18. Where's @Mr_Odwin when you need him?
  19. I played the PC version of this too just to make Serebii jealous.
  20. All I want for my birthday is for you to get hopelessly addicted to Minecraft.

    Thanks, though. :heh:

  21. Well, I can certainly sympathize with Rick after playing this.
  22. I'm sure Mrs Odwin will have a great time decorating the rooms once Odwin finishes renovating them, at least.
  23. You just know people are masturbating to it. I'm sure your friends think it's flattering, though.
