  1. Wasn't the launch of the DS equally bad? I remember people getting excited about the awful Yoshi Touch and Go because there was nothing else to get excited about. I mean, I guess it had Super Mario 64 DS, but that was another port/lazy remake.
  2. Saying that "there were a few bad shows back then" is an understatement if I ever saw one. I'm sure if we had a comprehensive list of all the cartoons little Dazz used to watch, it'd be 90% trash. And why would you like Hannah Montana or iCarly? They're aimed at children/tweens! Do you also watch Teletubbies expecting to enjoy it? If you'd watch Kenan & Kel for the first time today, you'd likely think that was terrible, too. You think anyone who grew up in the eighties thought Power Rangers was good? I really don't buy that cartoons are so much worse today than they were back when we were kids, especially not when so many shows people remember fondly are so awful in retrospect. I think it's just us getting old and grumpy like our parents before us. :p
  3. If you keep getting older every year, you're not really a hero of time - you're just a victim of time like the rest of us. Happy birthday, though.
  4. You're right, I'm sorry. Though in my defense, there aren't nearly enough dinosaurs in this thread.
  5. This thread is hilarious. It was starting to get old, but then Wingwing posted and now I'm loving it again.
  6. I'm glad to hear you say that, as I own Daxter for the PSP, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. It does seem to be more classic platformer than GTA clone, at least.
  7. I'm sorry to say this, Shorty, but I'm pretty sure you have no soul! I really don't see how you can think the PS3 Ratchet & Clank games look bad. I guess the gameplay is subjective, though, so I'll give you that, even if I'll have to respectfully disagree with you. :p Ugh, I agree completely with this. I absolutely loved the first game, but I could barely bring myself to finish the second one. The third game was slightly better, but still nowhere near as good as the first one. I know a lot of people want to see another Jak game, but if it's not going to be like the first one, they shouldn't bother.
  8. Nando's picture reminds me that I still haven't finished Hotel Dusk. But the top screen on my DS came off recently, so it's kind of a pain to use now. And the puppy is adorable, obviously. It's too bad they're at their cutest when they're the most work!
  9. Well, it's nice that they've made assassinations easier in this version, at least.
  10. I'm a bit confused by this, actually. If the instinct mode is limited, they can't really design the levels around the use of it. In the previous games, you could always use the map to check for guards/potential dangers, but now there's a chance that you'll end up in a tricky situation with an empty instinct meter. It's also a bit odd that it refills when you silently take down enemies, as avoiding enemies completely whenever possible should be preferable. Though I guess it's possible that it will refill at checkpoints or something similar as well.
  11. I see your point. It's like how in a lot of older games you could tell which doors could be opened because they were in 3D, while doors that couldn't be opened were simply textures. I've seen a lot of Tomb Raider fans complain about how climbable ledges stick out too much in the newer games, but in the older games the surroundings were so plain that ledges stuck out just as much without being lighter than the surroundings. But at the same time, I'm not sure that giving 47 magical eyesight and the ability to see through walls/observe patrol paths is really the best solution. Previous games (or just Blood Money, I can't remember) showed everything on the map, and I can kind of see why they would want to get away from that. But this just feels a bit too much Assassin's Creed.
  12. By that logic, we may as well sacrifice a goat too. Hey, it can't hurt. :p Well, it would hurt the goat, I guess.
  13. Because online petitions always work. I'd rather just hope for a fan translation.
  14. Undoubtedly some older cartoons were/are great, but I dislike when people act like there are no good cartoons anymore, while everything was oh-so-fantastic back in the day. A) You're only going to remember the cartoons you liked, and not the bad ones, and B) We all had terrible taste when we were kids, and we only remember Power Rangers and Biker Mice from Mars as great shows because we watched them when we were impressionable children. So basically, I agree (even though I'm not a big fan of Tom and Jerry from any era). :p Probably. You're comparing the great shows of yesterday with the popular shows of today. I'm sure that ten years from now, we'll have a generation of people complaining about how much better cartoons were back in the early '10s.
  15. Tomb Raider will have a detective mode (that's what I get for not watching the trailer)? So that's this game, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Batman... And people say all shooters are the same. Maybe it's this generation's generating health!
  16. If this were a soap opera, Rokhed would still be around (for the drama) and someone else would be playing Jordan.
  17. I'm still waiting for the the second Ace Attorney Investigations game.
  18. I hate the belief that cartoons were somehow better when we were kids. Now we just need a thread about how much better games were back in the day. :p I doubt the latest Power Rangers series is any worse than the ones that came before it.
  19. At this point I'm surprised you haven't just walked to a shop to buy it.
  20. You could always try recapturing your childhood by dating a child. ReZ may have some tips.
  21. Well, he was banned ages ago for good reason, so it's not like anyone wanted him back. ... You're Rokhed, aren't you? Please don't hurt me.
  22. Well, now we know why your housemates moved out.
  23. Rokhed returned briefly not too long ago, but he wasn't exactly welcomed back with open arms.
  24. Surely getting your own dog would be cheaper/easier in the long run? :p Dogs are great company - and unlike people they love you unconditionally - but you can't have sex with them. Or at least I used to think so before this thread.
  25. I wasn't convinced before, but now I am.
