  1. Cloud Atlas is not a great gateway read. The 'sci-fi' element you've seen is only for a couple of chapters. The story is set over hundreds of years so you won't get any of the sci-fi stuff going on in the 18th century! It is fantastic though. What is/was your reading habit like? Just before bed? Just on the toilet? Just on a train journey? Figuring out how much time you have to read something is a sensible approach to getting back into reading -- obviously if you're hooked on a book then you'll make more time to read it but by default if your go-to mode is gaming or other, then start with when you read, not what you read.
  2. How does looking at dead bodies tell you that mr-paul is trustworthy, @Dannyboy\-the\-Dane
  3. From reddit;
  4. You owe us all beer. (I didn't help, but mine'll be a cider, thanks)
  5. Tony Hawks Pro Skateboarder 4 ...
  6. Plus prototype was awesome.
  7. L.A. Noire Cheers for the tip, now I have to remember which zoom I was on before :P
  8. You signed up before 2006 so technically, you can do no wrong.
  9. I dislike having to lean in to my screen more than I usually do. Plus I dislike there being even less of a chance of me getting it than when there are multiple shots :P
  10. Read this thread In this guy's voice
  11. Wow dude, that's some epic effort right there.
  12. I've been thinking about this game since I polished off big boner. I mean -- finished playing Shadows of the Damned from Suda 51 or soda 7up orwhatevarhisnamis. That game was full of dick jokes and it sounds like the humour is exactly the same here!
  13. Good luck I updated mine with my 360.com info open in another tab - frustrating that it's not so straight forward as it ought to be, but at least entering manually really did get me to think about the games I have -- mostly the XBLA games I have. I also omitted a fair few gams that I have low achievement scores for, or games I have no intention to go back to - but I left lots in that I'll probably never play again, too... My multitap currently suggests I'm more 'complete' than Cube is... so I wonder if your update is going to better my position or erode it!
  14. Animal's got 4 bish ideas he wants to add... Though I'm currently not sure if it's 'fair' to add them at this late stage - unless others think it's ok?
  15. It seems only logical that I should get very drunk and watch all of these videos later this week.
  16. You don't buckle up in the back seat? Most brits will know what this video is even before looking. Warning to others - a little graphic.
  17. Immortals is pretty bad. I paid $4 to rent it and it wasn't worth it.
  18. If a week is too short then a month can be fine I don't see an issue.
  19. 12. Banjo-kazooieeeaarghiunno
  20. @Cube I have to admire your little pocket of bus knowledge!
  21. I think a career is a story; you can have multiple jobs joined with a particular thread of links, and you can claim it to be a career. I want this to be true because there's absolutely no cohesion in my 7 years of adulthood so far, and I'm hoping the career sort of appears, retrospectively joining the incredibly unmagnetic dots on my CV.
  22. 12. Goldeneye? These screenshots ALWAYS make my head hurt.
  23. Same as EEVILMURRAY here - but only because I've only been in the hackney ones when on a night out with lots of drunk folk. I don't know why that's an excuse either... we are probably all too blind drunk to even find the seatbelts... How about buses!
  24. That rab mingis is a bad influence.
  25. I watched Waking Life at an impressionable, and very stoner-philosopher, part of my life and it really helped to expand my perspective on things, and was fairly relentless in its profundity. The bands mewithoutYou and Brand New, for gems such as "what use is one glove without the other?" and just generally showing me that it's ok to be angry! I'm wishing I had written down the profound moments as they happened as I know I've experienced it more than a few times.
