  1. Have you just been filling a piece of paper with words like "robust" and "fortified" again, jimbob?
  2. The core of the matter is that I peel a bit of an out-cider. I see no good raisin nut to apple the plug.
  3. My cousin has to be the one to load the conveyor belt with groceries, and he has to be the one to bag them (when the attendant isn't doing the bagging), claiming that everyone else does it wrong. I laughed, until we got home and we were all unpacking and I realised I was thinking that everyone else is doing it wrong; I was going to have to rearrange it all when they left.
  4. DON'T BUMP OLD THREADS! I MEAN IT. I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BANANA MIGHT BAN YOU IF YOU BRING OLD THREADS UP. BLIMEY.
  5. @Supergrunch I went for a toad in the hole instead of a wellington last night simply because the pork wellington recipes I found suggested that I should season the pork and leave it overnight/several hours, which I didn't have. I also don't ever cook with decent cuts of meat so I pretty much need to go and talk to the butcher and make sure I do that right -- planning to do it next week. The old boy I cook for every week said that he likes salmon rissoles, so that'll be done next week too. I also made gravy for the first time - bit too much butter used, and a bit too much red wine vinegar (in place of balsamic... no idea if THAT was the mistake), for it was very sharp, but it was complimented by all. I also forgot to take a picture because I was rushing around so much. Today I get to make home-made sausage rolls and cheese twists and maybesomethingelse for a birthday party's finger food. I sometimes have to punch a hole in the wall to regain the lost masculinity. That's another topic.

    Fallout 3

Lincoln Repeater is great - I find that the Alien Disintegrator ('best' gun on MZ I've got so far) is much faster at firing and reloading so it can deal a lot more damage a lot quicker and it's pretty accurate too. I'm not sure but I'm thinking that the alien weapons may be more effective against a wider range of enemy types, so it may be just as effective against deathclaws as it is against sentry bots. But yeah, the argument is more that MZ gives you even more one-shot-kills weapons. At this point I've upped from a start on very easy to Normal and I think it might be wise to jump again. I accidentally paid for someone (with 100 repair) to fix all my stuff, which cost over 6,000 caps. I still have 4,000, and I have a ridiculous array of weapons. I have a fat man with something like 46 mini nukes... though every time I've used it it's blown me up along with it! One-man-army feel = awesome. Feels earnt to an extent; I've just spent 30 hours trawling through irradiated sunken mines with giant mutants trying to claw my eyes out with 10-inch knives-for-fingers! But what is less awesome is if the rest of the game becomes watered down because you've gotten too powerful too soon. I think that's a tricky issue to balance with loads of DLC when it's not explicitly necessary to do them in any particular order. The Lincoln Repeater requires a good level of strength to best the Super Mutants crawling in DC -- though getting the alien blaster (and the MZ signal) means you're dangerously close to Deathclaw zones.
  7. The way the gaming industry across all platforms is shifting focus has been addressed; it is all about how a user accesses the content on offer. PC you're talking about Steam, with the other consoles focusing on digital content as well as offering music, movies and TV and trying to shift the consoles towards home hubs. Nintendo seems to like to take it to a whole extra level of literal interpretation and wants to be the avant garde company pushing in new directions, trying to make the user feel more involved in the experience. In the past, a lack of third party support always seemed to be the counter-Nintendo argument. It has always been important for the Nintendo console to reach a level playing field; to offer the same multi-platform yearly IPs that other consoles do, so that it can then counter-attack with its first- and second-party games, which most agree are some of the best any company has to offer. Keeping Kinect and PS Move aside for now, it is important to recognise that nintendo are avoiding this level playing field in other ways; by offering a different controlling experience, and by not competing on the brute force that is bellowed out by the other machines' processing numbers. It is illogical to argue that Nintendo are trying to 'win back' or 'sway' users from other consoles; to ditch those in favour of the Wii U, because Nintendo are trying to maintain a different experience rather than purely a better experience. That's how it looks from an outsider's perspective, anyway.

    Fallout 3

That's nice. ... Unfortunately I started MZ before I saw this post :P I'll promise not to use these gained weapons for the other DLC - they are pretty powerful, it's ridiculous.
  10. never have I seen it before, except twice. I was somebody, once!
  11. Correct :P Had to be pedantic CLUES: 05 Title Screen for a GB game. 06. Screen in between levels. Mega Drive game (at first).
  12. Correct Fallout....?

    Fallout 3

Going from NV to 3, it's hard to say. I had spent my NV playthrough thinking 3 was better but my re-run of 3 has made me reconsider. Predominantly, washington DC itself is where I snap -- the underground really stretches out my compulsion to explore every nook and cranny of every area -- I mean one of the lines crosses over another, and in sum there are at least 5 different exits that I HAVE to check out. The deathclaws are still scary. Hoping heading back after the DLC will make them a bit more bearable. NV has a much better morality system, that I didn't appreciate. In 3 it's too easy to get positive karma, and everyone forgets that you killed the whole town two hours earlier with far too much ease. I abused the morality in NV, though - I didn't role-play enough and instead tried to do EVERYTHING in one play-through. Looking forward to getting back to that. Not looking forwards to the glitches as they were far more invasive -- the ever-growing loading screens sucked, too. It's rather... duh to say that NV is the best expansion, isn't it? I mean, it's a fully-fledged title. Ta for your input though!
  14. Nope It is! Well spotted. All three correct 8 is correct; others incorrect. Correct! Remaining; 03. 05 06. 10.

    Fallout 3

Nearly 2 years later (and add another 6 months since I actually got teh DLC) I've started playing it. I started from scratch to get the Bad Karma achievements (didn't bother taking advantage of workaround saves). Reached level 20 and needed 14 more speech challenges and figured 'what the hey'. Just had to move this save file over to my other HDD and there we are! I was nearest the ferry for point lookout so I'm there at the moment. Speech challenges are now at 40 and I know that I still have City of Dave left in the wastelands which has something like 7 challenges. Currently about level 23, figure I will abuse the save system and hit the achievements for good/neutral/bad lvl 30 rather than get my good 20 up 10 levels. I think my neutral character is still only level 7, so maybe I'll switch to them as soon as I've hit 30 and use them to mop up the other DLC. This thread is very conflicting about which DLC is best, and what order to do them in. From what people say it seems that Anchorage should be done first, if only for the weapons and armour. I still need to visit the Lyons to get heavy armour training with my dude. In total I think my save files add up to something like 150 hours. I'll double-check though (may be out by 30 hours).
  16. @Rummy where's the new poll thread! You get the rights to start 'em
  17. If I pop on, I tend to do so between 11pm and 3am as that's my morning time. I do find that I can kiss goodbye to any proper day plans if I do, though!
  18. This is what I do to automerges:
  19. I'll do a round! 01. 02. 03. 04. 05 06. 07. 08. 09. 10.
  20. Even I was surprised by the scoreline - home advantage this season is pretty big (for me). as already mentioned, the top 3 teams are all offing each other for a while which gives me (and bob :P) a chance to catch up but realistically it's theirs to lose. Another season in the bottom! I won with 1 below 7, btw :P
  21. Buy when dirt cheap and never play.
  22. Was thinking maybe a nice hunk of pork? She has since said that she doesn't mind if I make it for everyone else, so it might still happen!

  23. Do you have any questions about shoes? (hello!)
  24. @Shorty no idea. I know where my copy is though.
