  1. Nolan if I'm ever in michigan then I demand we have a proper drink-up. You are a man after my own heart :P P.S. Not a guiness fan either.
  2. Aimless! Thanks for reminding me! Amazon marketplace is a very sensible idea - provided you are ok with waiting :P trading in-store is quickest but rewards teh least, then ebay does better, then amazon, I'd say.
  3. It's heart-wrenching to hear how bad it gets. Still enjoying 2 and - yes - a reboot would be great, but they'd have to essentially reuse the ideas from the original quite a lot (which stole a lot of ideas from Quantum Leap in the first place :P).
  4. I had a virus that bricked my laptop for a few days. Back now. One mafia's finished so I can focus on the other two more (3 is too much at a time, people!), though tehy are both quite wordy and thus do not complement each other.
  5. LOL yeah, right. Heroijan played surely a flawless game - only on a few occasions did I suspect him, but because of this the-mafia-don't-fully-know-who-is mafia business, it became a lot harder for the town to accurately pick apart the mafia based on behavioural interactions. However - one of my favourite games. Inspired and fairly constant debates, lack of trust at every angle. Even up to my death I was genuinely uncertain about who was left as mafia. Except that they had to come from my list - zell, me, heroijan and rez. Got zell lynched, then I went down... and people just forgot what I had said (which is understandable). Diageo; you were in an unlucky situation (not that I believe you suspected ReZ) because it does seem that you had no choice but to trust ReZ seeing as your life was in your hands. This messed with your judgement and your rationality and in effect you were an extra vote for the mafia at all turns. it came down to only a few people, so well played
  6. Oh, hai! I didn't think I actually posted this. I ended up setting up a second monitor and it made no difference - no sounds, no visuals at all, just the CD tray whirring for a bit and responding to the eject button. The clue was in the flashing caps lock light. Googled that and found that it was an issue with the seating of the RAM - my diagnostic work was done. Laptop was a loaner from the school the mum worked at so she wouldn't let me open it up and fiddle :P
  7. Be sure to check out CEX as they tell you online what they'll give you for your money. I may have to do a similar thing soon myself.
  8. Every once in a while, I just love being rick-rolled. Haven't heard the song in so long :P
  9. Don't suppose many people will reply to this thread. My sister gave me the "Dual Dimension Edition" (season 1 and 2) of Sliders for xmas and I've just gotten round to watching it. Every bit as fun as I remember it! The world where Rembrandt's double is bigger than Elvis, the world where Women are the 'superior' gender, the world where intellect is more popular than sports... At the end of the first season is the perfect-world-lottery place, and what annoys me is that some dude slides with them at the end of that episode then the beginning of the next series they just say "oh he walked off somewhere" and don't address it at all. Plus the show had some of the best intro music everrr. They changed it each season, iirc. ^ Ominous EBM/pseudo-industrial intro for season 1. ^Adrenaline-soaked runaway for season 2. Also! I recently learned that Quinn 'Q-ball' Mallory; ... Is Verne from Stand By Me, but all growed up! Weird.
  10. There are a lot of games that I put a few hours into, don't feel it, then come back months later and get into the groove. Mass Effect 1&2, Fallout 3 (plugged 20 hours into it being constantly beasted, then lowered the difficulty and loved it), Left 4 Dead 2 (came too late to the party), Dead Rising (never got to grips with basically NOT being able to do everything on your first run through) all spring to mind. Generally speaking I very much prefer finding middling games that exceed my expectations. I tend not to get big games when they come out so my hopes are rarely dashed.
  11. Yes, you sit at the head of the table, and your significant other at the other end :P It's actually really hard to pick 6 women for a dinner party. The easy way out is to pick 6 women that are hot and nice to look at. I'd be interested in seeing a female forumer's opinion.
  12. You're throwing a dinner party, and you have space for 12 guests with an even number of male and female attendees. Now, there are three ways to do this; alive, dead or fictional (or a combination), so if you can pick which way to do it, so who do you invite? (I gotta think about this...)
  13. Another year older another year wiserwise-ass-ier (?)! (happy birthday!)
  14. Happy birthday noobie!
  15. I have a scar on my eyeball. I like to make people touch it to weird them out.
  16. Loving it. Really glad it's not all-out action, just hoping the point-and-click spawn of an investigative game works well too. Visuals are astounding, obv.
  17. la la la being in jail is fun la la la. [/bored]
  18. *claps. Very slowly*
  19. RE: England - Denmark; Johnson's having a great second half, looking very comfortable. Nobody is really being the man-on-point and taking the game into their own hands. Quite a scrappy game that doesn't show one side more dominant than the other.
  20. Good luck for your next game murr -- they won 13-0!!
  21. Then vote for me, diageo. ReZ, once again; throwing bottles at you?! You're character's mad, I tell thee.
  22. He's funny to watch, but I guess he just has a problem in general with physics in games!
  23. Yeah, so zell was a big mistake. I don't know what to think anymore. The write up suggests to me that diageo's character is fucked up, so chances are if they're getting their info on me wrong (they are) then they must be getting their info on others wrong. I targetted heroijan to be sent to peeps so they must've been the two that were switched by smeagol. ReZ targetted me and told diageo what's what. Frail man ? Hacker ? Man with mirror ? Lover/girlfriend/whatever ReZ/diageo Teenager - jayseven heroicjanitor Sméagol Tales The Peeps I don't expect anyone to believe me, and unless the frail man can come forwards with some/any/all of their info they've gathered so far we'll not have any other suspects. - but Diageo; please listen; when you discover I am town, please double-check your previous results and use them to your adantage. Unless you're mafia, then fuck you. Oh! And diageo - more evidence to prove your investigative power is somehow paranoid/delusional - I'm not a silencer, and I don't think smeagol is either, so use your logical mind and ask yourself how that works. 24. My post had a didyactic tone, so you would've found it insulting if you didn't think there was anything left to learn about manners and respect. As for your desire to drag this out further with questions; I'm not an FAQ. I've said my piece, and I've made my peace.
  25. Funny, you didn't respond to my last line; don't you realise you're being a dick? Because that's what it boils down to. I am glad people have differing opinions, but there's a difference between having your opinion heard and respected. To be heard, one can easily use aggression (passive aggression works too, as it draws a response), but to be respected one has to utilise ethos - that is essentially the respect of the other voices around you. I don't care either way for what you say, merely how you say it, which is what I thought my entire previous post was about. Which is why I'm not breaking down your response and putting each part under a magnifying glass (I'm not objecting to your use of it at all by the way, I just think the argument would spiral and lose focus). I'm just saying "hey, you! The way you talk makes people think you're a dick." You souldn't assume that my previous post is how I think of you in general. I recognise that your debating style is only a part of who you are. I am trying to point out that your form of reaction is provocative, and just as overreactive as anything else here. I have friends that I respect that don't like BSG. They have the ability to put their views across in a way that I can respect and understand. if you don't call for respect then that's fine, but don't expect antipathy. Sorry for the 'big words', but they're just more succinct.
