Crackdown was overhyped, it was just that there was nothing better out at the time, it was the game of the moment so some people will have a soft spot for it I guess depending on when they got it, I picked it up cheap somewhere down the line and I got a small amount of enjoyment out of it.

I think the region locking only applies to DSi software not DS games as far as I was aware all DSi software is going to be downloadable not retail so it's no issue really. I'm getting one for that software that will be downloadbale to it because sometime in the future it seems pretty evident to me that there will be a portable Virtual Console, so yet more titles to review if this happens, allready got myself a couple of Sandisk 8GB SDHC cards ready for when the system comes out. Some of the downloadable stuff that's currently available didn't sounds to appealing though as I think I read that in Japan users can download SINGLE minigames from one of the Wario Ware games for 200pts? wtf? I'm not sure if I understood it right but if I did then that's pretty crap. lol Hopefully downloads for new software will be approached in the right way and could be very good, I just hope Nintendo don't screw it up, as for the system itself, whats not to like? it's slimmer (if only slightly longer) it has a camera in it only 3.0 MP but it'll be good enough to use in games, the manipulation software could be fun to mess about with and the music aspect could be a laugh too, maybe it will even allow for custom soundtracks in games who knows and lets not forget the slighlty larger and improved screens. All they have to do now is lower the price of the original DS Lite to £79.99 with maybe a low budget game thrown in, price the DSi at around £99.99 which is the current price of the DS Lite I think and it will most likely sell pretty well.

I wouldn't exactly call The Colour and The Shape a non-event and as for impact I think they nailed it with that album, they have still had their moments of greatness, just that not everyone likes them but then thats true for all bands, one persons definition of a classic is anothers definition of crap so what does it matter? With the Foo's I tend to listen to their albums every now and then and then for a good while I'll listen to a load of other different music but somehow I always end up coming back to them no matter what others think because a lot of their tracks I remember fondly, not all but quite a few. I don't tend to buy music based on how much global impact a band have had, but by how much impact they have had on me.

Happy Birthday Noodleman! ^^

More their loss, quite a few of the games they publish even on other formats are overrated, but making sequels to casual crap like Carnival Games? Well loads of people bough it so of course they will make more, it's not as if they actually care what the hardcore Wii owners think of them, all they care about is whoever will give them the most money, i.e the casual crowd. Do I like the fact that this is happening? Not really but then the games aren't for me to buy, the only good thing is that it means more sales for the Wii.

If the other song was good maybe... in the end it truly doesn't matter as one person may find one song "stale" and the other decent while another may think the reverse. It's all just subjective opinion with no universal truth to it, personally I happen to think that the Foo's are nowhere near as stale as some people seem to think they are, granted they aren't the most innovative of bands but what they do, they generally do well, The Colour and the Shape will most likely always be their best album though.

Everlong, no contest... seriously though speaking from a fans perspective I do love a lot of their songs, The Colour and The Shape is easily their best album, their last album I still enjoyed despite it kind of retreading old ground (I think one of the songs was even recycled from disc 2 of IYH but i could be wrong) it was still quite different from IYH. Anyway regardless of what anyone says I still love them and Everlong while maybe overrated slightly is still a brilliant song, not my favourite track on the album but still awesome, ok I'll shut up now... >> Everlong.

You mean at the start when you get all of the mostly truly terribles singers that crawl out of the woodwork and then when the judges are 50/50 on whether to let them in, they plead, beg and sob their way into the next round? If you mean that then yeah it's quite sadistically enjoyable to watch at that point but the end songs that end up in the charts are always rubbish. Hmm btw whens the deadline to download the Buckley version?
-
Agreed, the X-Factor version is an offence to the senses. same.

Nick Cave, I didn't really like the other one.

Now you see that I can understand, it's just the myriad of PS2 ports etc that I dislike.

Yeah, shame about the software though, seriously I've barely bought any PSP games, theres just not much on the system that really "grabs" me, my DS on the other hand... I have stacks of games for and have found many of the games very entertaining from start to finish. So the PSP hardware wise can do more yes, UMD movies? no ty I'd rather watch them on the big screen where they belong (plus many UMD films are overpriced) Music? got an iPod, portable web browser? handy but only used a few times. The only other thing is the graphical capability, sure a handful of 3D games look and even play very nicely but the rest of the machines Library seems to be mostly ports of exisisting PS / PS2 games. Now the DS may be graphically inferior but genuinely I've had a lot more enjoyment out of it, it has 3D games too, from the start it had Super Mario 64 DS, a port yes but a worthwhile one, Metroid Prime Hunters which was technically impressive when it was first release if only not as good as the console versions, Mario Kart DS speaks for itself, and games like Zelda and Ninja Gaiden were quality and thats not even mentioning the tonne of decent 2D games on it. Sure the PSP has it's own original titles, Loco Roco etc, it's just a shame that it didn't have a lot more of those and was less plauged by ports, it's all very well having the hardware but using it correctly is another matter, still they seem to be learning that now at least.

Good to hear! it took them long enough a lot of places in the high street have been decreasing the amount of shelf space they dedicate to the Playstation PORTable with even some independant retailers stopping stocking titles alltogether cos sales were so bad. Hopefully they will get it right this time.

These days I get about £50 - £80 spent on me I guess at Christmas? £50 from my parents, I've allready had that actually, as it was cash and so I decided to get a digital camera with it as I found one for half price (£50 down from £100) and has been saying I would get one for ages lol so seemed sensible. The other £30 ish will be from the few close relatives I now have left and my brothers, I think I've actually spent about £80 on presents this year lol so I guess it kinda balances out. Seriously though I have pretty much all I want atm (not in a spoilt way or anything either, just contented with what I have really) so I am happy. ^^

I downloaded and completed it in about 15 mins... it's not shite, I enjoyed it just that I won't be going back to it. Seriously though anyone who has about 15 mins to spare should download it, it's a great laugh and it has T-rex's! that eat trucks! and stuff... >>

I assume the one in the link counts then if thats the one that's at number 3? I'm not gonna bother unless it's properly counted, if it is though then nps and I'll purchase it in a heartbeat, The Fish, confirmation please?

It might look good but I bet it falls short somewhere in the gameplay department.

My List... 10 - Guillemots - Cockateels 9 - Kings of Leon - Use Somebody 8 - Kanye West - Welcome to Heartbreak 7 - Interpol - Mammoth 6 - Keane - Perfect Symmetry 5 - Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye 4 - The Killers - Spaceman 3 - Snow Patrol - Disaster Button 2 - Foo Fighters - The Pretender 1 - MGMT - Kids Predictable list? I care not... this is what I like next years list might be quite different though as I plan to be more open in what I listen to, I've seen a few artists posted in here that I may well check out but for now, the aforementioned list is based on what I've listened to a lot of and enjoyed this year.

No need to give up on the whole industry, just the (mostly) shitty pop / reality tv part which I agree is an atrocity.

Yeah but iPhone is mostly a bit of a non gaming platform, yes there are games out for it but they are mostly just ports only warranted by the fact that there is a tilt sensor inside it.

That site accepts PayPal too, and it's only 49p so I may well go for it.

Lol I'm not really bothered either way tbh... I already have MGS4 on the PS3 and it was awesome, if it came to the 360 I might buy it again but I'm not too fussed, tbh I'd like to see a more classic top-down Metal Gear but with upgraded gfx obviously and maybe a cutscene here and there, the DS is perfect for it or even make it Wiiware, won't happen though so w/e.
