  1. It is quite annoying how much of the praise Rooney is getting for that goal (as great as it is) when Nani was the main star of the game yesterday. He was our best player.
  2. I found it quite tricky to S rank some of the later stages. I didn't have much problem getting to Super Excite, though. Really, its all about getting the Stars rather than winning the race, although doing both is extremely useful. The multiplayer is a bit cack, I agree. Really would have benefitted from online rather than split screen. Also, been playing a ton of Brawl recently. I haaate the jumping mechanics, but the game itself is brilliant. So overwhelming though in terms of things to do.
  3. Guys, I've been playing ExciteTruck again, and I have to say that the water effects in there are pretty good. I wasn't entirely sure if my memory was false, but after playing it I can definitely say that they're quite lovely to behold. Now, go forth and play ExciteTruck.
  4. So, by that logic, the Forest Temple and possinly the Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time are both in the first half of the game? Its pretty clear that the first half of the game is everything up to you getting the Master Sword. Then, after that is where the next part of the game begins. As for the Temple of Time, I think it's well designed. It might be quite linear, but that doesn't prevent it from becoming a great dungeon. The first temple is quite good with the use of the gale boomerang, and the second has some great uses for the iron boots. But, they're not "brilliant" dungeons by any means. They're both blown completely out of the water by the Lakebed Temple anyway.
  5. I've got my Wavebird, so will most probably try that out again to see if I find the game a whole lot easier to play.
  6. You can add me to the Halo camp. Luckily I only bought a second hand xbox, and only paid a third of that price as I split it three-ways with my brothers. I found it very soul-less. On a related note, Timesplitters 2 is something that I just can't seem to enjoy. It arguably ticks all the right boxes, but I found the whole thing quite bland. There's no satisfaction I receive when I pump an enemy full of lead, which tells me that there's something wrong with the game. I love Brawl, but I struggle massively with the jumping in that game. Not sure if its because I'm not used to the weight of the characters, or because its quite awkward to use the jump button. Seemed easier on the Gamecube pad.
  7. With you being an Arsenal fan, I can see why it would be difficult for you to find consenual and willing females.
  8. I bought a few things today. First of all, at the pub. Mmm. Then, a coke. After that, bought some lovely incense sticks from a shop in town. 20p each, so bought a quid's worth of strawberry and other nice smelling ones. Warm and Sensual I think it was called. Next up, a trip to Zara got me this: and a plain red t-shirt. Only came to about 9 quid or something, so wohoo.
  9. I don't really pay much attention to it. I've sent Ine a card already, which she got with her birthday card. It doesn't seem that important compared to birthdays and other days. Plus, sometimes, it can seem quite tacky in the way that people go about things, with heart shaped stuff, doing the cliched thing of proposing on valentines day and...stuff.
  10. Happy Birday.
  11. At about 1 this morning, I decided that I wanted to play this game right to the end, as I knew I was almost there.
  12. If City had got a point, I'd have said that they would have deserved it. A draw would probably have been the fairest outcome. But then, football isn't fair.
  13. You haven't had any accidents so far, which is great. However, these things happen and they can't be foreseen. There are a lot of problems or problematic situations you could find yourself in if you did have an accident, though. You'd get a lot of grief. Nobody is doubting your driving ability, but there is now more to it than just that. You also couldn't plead ignorance because you've seen a specialist and have been told you're not allowed to drive legally. My advice would be to see another specialist or get some advice from them to see what can be done, to see if this truely is the case or if there is something than can be done to help you.
  14. Much better than the last derby game. More action in the first ten minutes than in the whole of the other. My heart was in my mouth when David Silva put that early shot past the post. I thought it was 1-0 right there. I thought the two best players in the first half were Nani and Silva, the two most important players in the game. Rooney and Tevez were hardly in the game, kept quiet by the defence of both teams. On that note, I thought Smalling was excellent today. Very mature performance from him. He's been plodding along quiet nicely this season. Unlucky about the City equaliser, nowt he could have done about that. Nani's goal was well taken. He was probably my MOTM. Rooney's goal though...fucking hell. Wasn't expecting that. If you ask me, Berba's overhead kick is still the better of the two, imo. Hmm, maybe.
  15. I played some ExciteTruck today, remembering that I needed to S-rank some courses on Super Excite. The last one in Platinum Cup was a motherfucker. I had to get something like 300 points to get the S rank. I hit the 300 mark and clock began to count down. I thought "ya, I'll make it." However, I crashed into a tree and thought...sheeeet. Had to hurry. Kept going and the clock was counting down to 10. No sign of the finish line. Shit shit shit. It got down to 5 and the finish line was in sight. I hammered the turbo and prayed. 3. 2. So close. I got past the finish line on the very last second. Saw my score was 311 and saw that I had the S-rank. Let out a loud Fuck Yeah! Very tense. Forgot how awesome this game is.
  16. One of my pupils wrote into their homework diary "learn lines for arsembly" instead of assembly. I had tears rolling down my face. It was too much.
  17. But then the flipside of that is whilst the set pieces may not as good in the second half, the dungeon design, the weapons you get in the dungeons themselves and arguably the bosses are much better in the second half of the game compared to the first.
  18. That's fair enough, but it would also be fair to say that this is a very traditional Zelda game, almost a bit too traditional. More "new" or unconventional sidequests would have been great, and we will probably will see that with the next Zelda game, as that already looks like it's taking on a different approach to the game. I can see why we got the sidequests that we did get. Its very much the Ocarina of Time for the new generation. Its good that we agree on this. Personally, I'd like to see more of this in the future, and I think the dungeon designs and locations should be higher on the priority list than sidequests. Sidequests are really fun and great, but not everybody chooses to do every single one, whereas dungeons are essential. Both would be great, mind. Yes, I know they're not new elements, but I feel that Twilight Princess managed to refine these areas. Its an evolution of the franchise rather than a revolution. Its taking all the bits which worked in past games and uses them well. The sidequests may not be as brilliant as they are in Majora's Mask, but then that gives Nintendo a good starting point to work on in the next game. As for the main game itself, there were some great new additions that Twilight Princess brought to the table. I'm very, very surprised that not a single post in this thread has not mentioned the Wolf Link gameplay mechanic. It worked brilliantly, whereas I was previously unsure whether it would suit this style of game or not. As we already mentioned, the locations and settings for the dungeons were great. The set pieces, such as the duel on the Bridge were brilliant, imo. Its a very memorable game. We're in very different camps. You side with the Wind Waker and I'm in the Twilight Princess corner. For the sake of killing each other over this, we should probably agree that our opinions probably won't change and this is as good as it's going to get.
  19. Come on, Oxy, don't get all modest on us. Are you saying that in a room with 300 people, you wouldn't be confident enough to kick all of their gigantic arses? Course you would. You seem intelligent and I'm sure if you revise really hard you'll get somewhere with this. A wrist watch that uses PDF though, thats stretching it a bit. If the test is too hard and nobody passes it, then maybe it just isn't meant to be? Other than that, if there are only 2 people in the hall, can't you take some notes with you?
  20. Ending isn't great, but everything up to it is worth it. RU-FI-O!
  21. Gliders would be awesome. Or, Link could go all Mario Galaxy and transform into a shuttle or something. Planes, hmm. We'll have to wait and see how that turns out. Nintendo will make it work, somehow.
  22. That is actually a really good shout. Dunno how we all managed to overlook that one. Another one has to be Lylat Wars. That opening section, I have great memories of barrel rolling over the waves beneath me. It looked magical at the time.
  23. Oh, I knew that, but I was mainly focusing on Phantom Hourglass in that post. (and previously was talking about Wind Waker) Zelda, on rails. Who would have thought it, eh?
  24. The trade off with this though is that you get the awesome plasma beam earlier than you would in other games compared to the other beams. Its a great game. I find it very atmospheric. It is also very satisfying picking up expansions and building up your arsenal. I'm trying to track down a copy of Zero Mission now.
  25. Ah, ok. I'm a bit disappointed about that, but I will collect them anyway. Thankfully its only an extra and not an essential part of the game, but would have been nice. Hahhha. Mickey is too awesome. Clearly you are not. !!!
