  1. I've been playing this for about 6 or so hours again today. This really is beautiful. The music when Midna needs to be taken to the Castle (Midna's deperate hour) is so haunting and beautiful, could quite easily have fitted into a metroid game. I'm going to reply to an earlier post that I forgot to add to. Hmm, this is quite nit-picky, to be honest. It probably is to do with the loading, but I don't think it detracts anything from the overall experience. The field is huge, and if it were made now it probably would be one complete section, who knows. I've never understood this issue at all. The game takes a while before the momentum is established, especially in the earlier sections where you play as the wolf. After the fourth dungeon with the introduction of who shall not be named, the game has gathered pace. It doesn't need anymore build-up. The funny thing is that if the game's pace had been slower in the second half, there would be issues about that. I've never seen it as a problem, but that's just me. There are occassions where you need the dominion rod outside of the dungeon, particularly in hyrule field. Are we also going to complain that there was no usage for the ice or light arrows outside of battles within dungeons in Ocarina of Time? I think this is one argument that isn't just limited to Twilight Princess. I initially agreed with this. Although, on my second playthrough, Zant does leaves hints about the power that he has obtained, particularly in the sequence straight after the lakebed temple where he refers to "his God." The God, which we later find out to be Ganon. Ganon was a false God and Zant wasn't fit to be King, and the scene with the tantrum (coupled with his arrogance and his actions in Hyrule) show why Zant is truely a false King. I definitely rate it higher than Wind Waker. I love Majora's Mask, but it really grates me when it is compared to other Zelda games in the way that it is. It's not a fair comparison because Majora is really different to the others. For a start, its less focused on a long and epic journey (not saying that Majora isn't epic. It's possibly my favourite Zelda) but the focus isn't on the main quest as such. Hence why there was an enormous amount to do within the game, as a large part of the game was based on the sidequests and getting to know the lives of the people of Clock Town, or the whole of Termina. Also, one thing that is under-rated about Twilight is the fact that there is a lot to collect. Like collecting all of the poes, the bugs, the heart pieces, etc. There's still an awful lot to do. It's still something like a 50 or 60 hour game, maybe a bit more if you want to get everything. Gets far too much criticism, imo.
  2. United bottled it today. Too many times we've conceded from set pieces away from home. Our defence were non-existent today. Looking at the bigger picture, how many teams would love to have kept an unbeaten run going until February? So, thats some achievement, but still, poor today. After scoring an early goal we should have controlled the game. Full credit to Wolves. Elokobi was a fucking hero today.
  3. 40 days straight?! How? That's mad. I deliberately have days where I do bugger all, just because I know I need to regain my energy. Also, the session immediately after the rest day tends to be the best one for me, because I feel fresher.
  4. That's good advice, there. I'm loving the gym still, and now I'm making more of an effort to get the diet right and to do a bit more cardio to burn off my fatty fat. Although, I've been shocking this week. Haven't been feeling too well, so have allowed myself to have some chocolate here and there. I can feel myself getting fat whilst eating it, which makes me incredibly guilty.
  5. Rooney does get over-rated by the press. But, you shouldn't listen to what they're saying anyway. I never do. He's been arse this season, but maybe now he can find his form again and get his season going. Should be a good weekend of football. The match of the weekend though has to be Torres against Liverpool on Sunday, if he plays. Should be brilliant to watch. If only it was at Anfield.
  6. *waits for all the Liverpool fans to flood back to this thread* Oh wai- Great to see Rooney scoring again. Hopefully he can get back to the ways of last season. If we can get him scoring for fun again, then that's three in-form strikers.
  7. Dude, that's laaaame. You can't post an article/thread, make a point and when others disagree decide to not argue. I think it's a good idea. You should be able to go to a beach or a park and smell the clean air. Seems pretty fair to me. Plus, you could always smoke at home.
  8. I'm still shocked that those signings have gone through. Although Liverpool bought two strikers, I don't think they entirely got what they needed. The trouble is that they still haven't properly filled the hole that was left by Alonso's departure. It's great that now they have two quality strikers that can play up front (Suarez could also play on the left, which is good) but to me the issues still lie in that midfield. Miereles (sp?) is looking pretty good though, so maybe he can fill the gap. But, the midfield still doesn't look right, imo. As for tonight's game, I'm happy that Rooney got two goals (Vidic's third was ace as well). He still doesn't look entirely right, but its good that he's getting back on the scoresheet now.
  9. The deal sounds less impressive if you include Babel. His talent was wasted. He could have gone to a club like Arsenal or United and would probably have done well there.
  10. Only sissies use these cheap shortcuts. Real men browse every thread on every board.
  11. New blood is always good. Its going to be hard to imagine a Liverpool attack without Torres, though. Still, Carroll + Suarez = Torres + up to 10 million. Thats one way of looking at it. I find it strange that Liverpool would sell him to another English team, though. But then, thats football. Logic is dead. Just like Carlos Tevez's comments about "I won't play for Liverpool out of respect for United." City, eh? :p
  12. Are we seriously getting wound up over a topic title? Today was sheet. The kids wouldn't shut up and some of them acted like gigantic arseholes. I'm relieved that luckily all of the kids in the year group were behaving like monkeys, though.
  13. Wow, what a deadline day. Torres to Chelsea is just...odd. I can't imagine him in a blue shirt. You'd have thought that with a new manager having just arrived that he'd wait at least until the end of the season until he moved on. Leaving in January seems really selfish on his part, imo. Its hardly giving the club enough time to find a replacement. As for Carroll, 35 million? Really? I guess you have to factor in English Player Tax, which is to take the player's true value and then multiply it by the first number that you pluck out of thin air. He's a great player, no denying that. Something like 11 goals in 17 league games this season, which is fucking brilliant. But, if you look at the wider picture, so many other world class strikers have gone for less than that. Newcastle are making a fortune, though. I wonder how many of their fans would want him to leave, though. Carroll and Suarez as a front pairing, though. Could be something special. I love deadline day.
  14. You can film the whole ordeal using the 3DS' camera. Full depth perception and everything.
  15. But then ordering a console online has its drawbacks, too. As was mentioned, what if you have a dead pixel. Also, I'd be dead nervous incase mine didn't arrive on time, or got broken or something. I won't consider getting a 3DS until the price is more affordable for me. Which...will probably be a looong, long time. Or, until we get a Metroid 3DS game. Then I'm sold.
  16. D'oh, I did forget about that. Hmm, I guess that we'll be seeing it around this mark, then? Its good that some people have managed to get their pre-orders for 199 or so. Thats a lot better than the initial price that we've seen.
  17. I've used your idea Grunchie/Grunchy/SugerGrunch and I've uploaded a sound file of me performing your little poem. I don't think its my natural voice, mainly because I had to speak a bit loudly to make myself heard on this laptop's crappy microphone. I hope you guys can hear it. http://dl.toofiles.com/vaaoje/audios/1312_untitled.wma I don't really have an obvious accent I don't think. I sound like a cross between my Mum (I think so anyway), my Brighton friends, a few friends from Wales and I've noticed that I'm picking up words off Ine. If anyone can figure out what the hell I am or sound like, I'll be most grateful.
  18. I do lurk on the 606 forums, don't post though. Yeah, the reactions are quite similar. It is a pretty daft situation, though. You are told to name a 25 man squad, so really you should be able to choose any 25 of those that you want to play. Whats the point in having a squad if you aren't allowed to use all of your players? Today has been such a funny day. Suarez to Liverpool, Torres rumoured to go with Chelsea, Vela going out on loan. Apparantly Torres has had a transfer request denied. Before today, I thought it unthinkable that he would go, but now I'm not sure. I think he might.
  19. Regarding the price: Is it possible at all that Nintendo will drop the price of the 3DS to enable it to be more competitive against the PSP2? It seems that you can already pre-order the system for around the 200 quid mark, so is it possible we could see any more reduced prices?
  20. Quit your whining. Its Kirrrrby. Fuck yeah! So, there's Epic Yarn which is very different. And this, which is traditional-esque Kirby.
  21. I didn't have much breakfast this morning as my housemate spent forever in the bathroom, meaning that I was in a rush. At work, there was a power cut, meaning that I didn't have a great dinner there. Sandwichesss. I had parents evening which went really well. So I thought Fuck Yeah, lets go home, drink some coke and play some Wiiiii. I'm all cocooned in my bed, I have my snacks ready and I think ok, I'll pop downstairs in a sec to get my coke. Theeeen, my housemate comes in, and she then has an argument with her boyfriend. I'm thinking, ahhhh shit. Now this sucks for two reasons: 1. She'll come into my room for talks and to vent some steam. Which means my plans are ruiiiined. 2. I can't go downstairs to get my fecking coke from the fridge, as...walking downstairs in the middle of an argument is awkward. So, its now 11:30, I've just finished talking to her and am now all cocooned again in my bed. Not the wooorst day, but a slight annoyance. They have an argument of this sort about once every 2 weeks-ish, and it pretty much derails whatever I have going on that evening. On the plus side, parents evening ruled.
  22. The Gameboy back in the day was great. Although, I was never that fond of the Advance. Bar the Metroid games, I found the console quite boring, to be honest. At least, nowhere near as interesting as the DS has been. The PSP2 technically is very good. However, judging from the games we've half-seen so far, I think I'll have more joy with the DS. It just seems to be that idea of replicating a home console experience on a handheld which doesn't suit my image of what I want from a handheld. To me, like ReZ has mentioned, the games need to be suitable for portability. For example, Electroplankton is a brillliaaaant DS game. You can pick it up to play for a few mins at a time, or for hours if you choose. Its easy to get into it, very fun and you can play it on the go. For me, thats what I look for in portable games. The simpleness but also that accessibility. Thats partly why I don't think 3D in a handheld is necessarily a great idea. We'll have to wait and see.
  23. It is a shame that they're all heaped into one category: "Criminals." You could make a relatively small mistake, do some time in prison and be screwed over for the rest of your life. People make mistakes, there's no denying that. Although, there are varying degrees of the kinds of "mistakes" you can make. Shooting a pregnant woman in the head whilst she sleeps is more than just a "mistake." The person either needs some kind of serious help or they are completely devoid of any compassion or remorse.
  24. Rio's just a wind up merchant. I'm gutted than Van Der Sar is retiring at the end of the year. It was to be expected, but to know its official is different. My heart sank this morning when I found out. Also, Blackpool have been fined for fielding a weakened team against Aston Villa. Fucking bullshit. Fair enough, introduce a 25-man squad rule. But, a manager should be allowed to choose ANY of the 25 in any order that he wants. What next? Will the FA now create a list of possible combinations that a manager is allowed to use? Horseshit.
  25. The problem with news like this is that we never know the full story. What if it turns out that the mother had been abusing the child? Does this now make you sympathetic towards him? Do your initial feelings change? The insane thing, that has already been pointed out, is that an 11 year old boy was allowed access to a gun. Thats crazy. Absolutely crazy. I still don't understand how people are allowed to have these in their home, it's asking for trouble. As for life without parole, I don't agree with it, at least not in this case. What if this person needs some specific kind of help, as he may have a mental illness? In this instance, putting him in jail for the rest of his life is harsh and will not solve anything. In any case, he is still a child so should still be put on trial as one. On another note, I am interested in reading up on these sorts of things, particularly about how many criminals are released and then re-offend. More definitely needs to be done on the rehabilitation side of things.
