  1. I don't know if this has been mentioned or brought up already, but there is a potential issue that I have with the 3DS and the positioning of the analogue stick. When playing Metroid Prime: Hunters, I use the stylus in my left hand and the 4 face buttons as the makeshift d-pad. The DS is quite symmetrical and it seems to work fine. However, there could potentially be a problem with 3DS games, if the game uses analogue support, due to their only being one stick on the left hand side. Hmm.
  2. It depends what you mean by a few dumbells. If you're literally only doing something like 3 sets of bicep curls every now and again, then you're probably not going to get an awful lot out of it anyway, with or without shakes. Daft is pretty much right in both of his posts on this. Its more cost effective to get tubs of protein shakes (or packets, whatever really) than it is to buy fuck loads of meat, eggs, fish, etc. Remember, a lot of this is about food and diet, probably just as much as it is about the actual exercising itself. Although, you need to have a good diet as well as the protein shakes. Lifting and then having the shakes without eating well won't do you good anyway. Cheers for the link earlier, Daft. Will try that out when I get back. I did a bit more running today, getting the most out of having a treadmill nearby before I return to the UK.
  3. I had a nice shopping trip today with Ine. Last week, I bought a Gremlins movie t-shirt from Zara, but they didn't have one of the t-shirts in my size. After popping in a different one today, I found the one I originally was looking at, plus another one. Not a great picture from there/you can't see what is written onto the t-shirt, but its awesome. And, the other one which I got is basically a t-shirt with Billy and Gizmo, with the 3 rules above it. So, I've now overdosed on Gremlins t-shirts. Also bought 4 donuts/doughnuts and some hot chocolate.
  4. Yeah...that's probably about right...
  5. I don't think being an "adult" really matters all that much. Also, there's no point getting hung up on an age, or being a certain age. Its important to enjoy yourself and the life that you are leading. You can't enjoy it alll the time, but you should get some degree of satisfaction from it. Saying that, if there's a line between teenager/kid on one side and adult on the other, I'm nearing towards the adult side with each day that passes. But, its ok to still regress in some areas. I want the pokemon cartoons on dvd. As a society we seem to get too bothered by these sorts of things, rather than asking ourselves if we are making good decisions, if we are learning from the bad ones and if we're making the most of the time we have here. My teaching assistant at work has recently come back to work after her breast cancer treatment. She's a good ten years or so older than me, but in terms of her attitude she could easily be the same age. Very lively, very into her music like I am, full of it. I know that at the moment she's loving life.
  6. Oh, I will cry like a little sissy girl if we don't get a good Metroid on the 3DS. Hunters-type stuff doesn't count. What does Other M count as? 2D? 2.5D? What are your thoughts on it so far? Was it you or that other smelly Irish Liverpool fan who hated Metroid?
  7. Yeah, you do burn a lot more calories when you do cardio after weightlifting. You don't have to lift insanely heavy either, just a good amount to help.
  8. Raineeeng, amateur mistake. New gym thread, pfft. I looove the gym. Thats my escape. When I'm there, I don't really think of anything else. I'm slowly introducing more cardio into my workout. I'm usually on my feet all day at work, but aside from that and some jogging every now and again, I don't have many opportunities to cycle about and stuff. I drive to work and I walk to town. I aim to do about 20/30 mins of cardio when I'm there, which is a combination of cycling, running, cross trainer at different speeds. Interval training me do. At the moment I'm really trying to focus on improving my shoulders and my chest a bit more. Everything seems to be roughly in proportion at the moment, but I'm upping my protein intake and trying to eat a lot better. Without a good diet, it doesn't really matter how much you're lifting and stuff. Luckily I can get some good food at work, some carbs and a looot of tuna and salmon and some chicken. Shoulders is a tricky one, though. I managed 22 and 24kg dumbells when pressing the other day, but I want to hit the next level. Isn't easy. Supersets for shoulders fucking kills me, even with smaller weights. I mean, physically kills me. I feel like I'm going to pop. As I speak, Ine is on her treadmill. Work eet.
  9. The main thing I would love in the original game was a better save function. And, this sounds like it has improved on that aspect. Definitely tempted.
  10. I'm still listening to the soundtrack of this game on Youtube. That Desbrechians tune is awesome. Really gets the blood pumping. After playing Fusion recently, I think these two games compliment each other quite nicely. Especially with the recurring characters which appear in both. I'm having massive withdrawel now. More Metroid please.
  11. Bebe is extremely "raw." Not refined in any way whatsoever. The guy should be in the reserves and getting the basics right first. Obertan is very hit and miss. He looks good in the reserves but in the first team he can't cut it yet. I missed the game yesterday, as I was travelling to see the woman. The problem with these sorts of games is that unless you thrash Crawley something daft like 5-0, you aren't going to satisfy many people. I'd rather play a Premiership team than a team lower down...because they're the truely dangerous ones. They're the ones with nothing to lose but everything to gain. So, they won't hold back. Crawley did themselves proud by the sound of things.
  12. Oh, I know that, sucker. I agree, as well. There are many definitions to the word fan anyway.
  13. Word, although not going to games is down to situation rather than choice. My family are from Manchester, but I'm the first one to be born in the South. Also, when growing up, I was brought up by my grandparents, and they were both in their late 50s/early 60s and partially disabled. I used to be quite bitter when growing up to see all my friends having their Dads taking them to watch the football or the rugby, when mine never really took me anywhere. But, I know it wasn't really their fault. I'm earning now, after the debt of uni, so hopefully I can put two pennies together and get myself up there. Somebody has to make some noise at Old Trafford. As for the general topic on hand, I love sports, particularly football, rugby, tennis and snooker. I also like watching darts, but haven't played much in a while. Football is my love, though. There's a brotherhood to it, a community aspect which grabs me. I also like to think of a game as a battle, where you've got 11 warriors against another 11. Seeing two teams going at each other really makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I try and watch as much football as I can. If I can't watch it, I'll listen to it on the radio, follow text updates, get streams off the internet to watch games, any way possible. At Uni, I'd sit in my room listening to the 12:45 Premiership kick-off on my radio. When I'm with Ine, if I'm travelling on the Saturday, I'll get to her place and we'll sit down and watch the highlights together on Match of the Day whilst eating some snacks. The only game I haven't actually watched this season is the away game against Birmingham, since I was travelling that day from London with Ine. I've watched every single game either on telly or with an internet stream. Would definitely rather be there with the crowd though. Football doesn't do it for everyone, though. Mainly due to the pace, but that's because a lot of the non-fans only watch the big games, when perhaps they're the least exciting due to the fact that both sides don't want to lose, so they play quite defensively. If they watched the 4-4 between Arsenal and Newcastle for example, or the 3-2 between Blackpool and United, then maybe they'd get a different experience out of it.
  14. Yeah. I know Inter did it last year, but they made it through by the skin of their teeth. Its not a wise choice, and you'd need a lot of luck to go there and do that. If Arsenal go there and get an early goal, that would put you in an awesome position. I was willing you to get a third tonight. I feel dirty.
  15. Amazing game, well done Arsenal! That Van Persie goal was fucking brilliant. And, the second goal was also incredible. Lovely build-up and counter-attacking. I really hope that you get a draw or something at the Nou Camp. It would make the competition interesting if Barcelona were out of it. Barcelona will probably score at the Nou Camp. I doubt Wenger will go there and set up an uber defensive game. I can see it finishing 1-1.
  16. Seriously? Come on, the guy is an engine. He's a power-house. It's a bit respectful considering that he's a World Cup Winner and a Champions League Winner...twice. Tonight he lost it, but had he dragged Milan to victory tonight, he would have been declared a hero.
  17. Hahahahaha

  18. Haha, you were one of the Other M faithfuls, yes?

This poster made me laugh. Love the DK rap.

  19. Oh man, I feel sorry for you. You've gone from One English team to Three, in one night. Haha.
  20. Just seen the Flamini "tackle" again. Should have definitely been a straight red. AC lost their temper in this game. So, no Gattuso in the return leg. That's a big loss for AC. He's such a big presence on the pitch.
  21. That was incredible. Good game. What an ending with the disallowed goal and Gattuso! Crazy shit.
  22. Rafa Benitez says: You Leave Those Facts To Me.
  23. I had a pretty great Valentines Day. In work, there are two old ladies who work in the school office, and me and another lad at work get on great with them. We joke around quite a lot and we seem to have a good friendship with them. They're both quite stressed at the moment because our headmaster is a bit of an arsehooole. In addition to this, they have both lost their husbands in the last few years. My friend at work thought it would be a nice idea to take them out for Valentines Day for a drink, and we also got them a card each and a small bunch of roses. It really made their day and was pretty great fun. We chatted and we didn't leave the place til gone 11. Really nice night.
  24. Didn't Arsenal win there as well in 2008? As well as Man United last season.
