  1. The remaster is out next week. Friday, I think. When the Switch comes out, the remaster will already be 5 months out of date.
  2. There was a Pro Controller type of thing in the trailer, too. So, if you wanted multiplayer gaming, there's that to rely on and not those Joy...detachable controllers.
  3. I can't see them seriously using that terminology when it releases. It'll just be referred to as a detachable controller or something. You can't market it to adults or put out a good trailer that they've done featuring adults and then refer to it as a joy-con.
  4. I love your optimism regarding third parties. There's no guarantee whatsoever that they're going to be there from day 1 and there's nothing to say that they'll still be there (if they do jump aboard at the start) in 3 or 4 years time.
  5. That would lead to question marks about the usage of touch screen then, as @Dog\-amoto pointed out. How can you use the touch screen when playing at home on the telly if the console is docked?
  6. I'm getting a Super Mario Sunshine vibe from this, which is great because I love it. This will no doubt be great.
  7. That's pretty much where I'm at with it. I'm going to be sceptical about this until I see a reason to throw my money at it. It's going to be interesting for me this generation because I'm completely satisfied with owning a PS4. I don't necessarily need a second console. So far, I've not seen anything yet to make me want this one, but I know it's early days. The one thing that I do like is seeing that poster that got posted in the main NX thread where it showed all these developers behind it. It's great seeing them there and it's exciting in a way to see what they potentially come up with. However, part of me looks at that list and sees "Fifa 17 port...Dark Souls III port...Skyrim port..."
  8. That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw it. It doesn't necessarily mean the Switch will be getting the next Bethesda game. I'm not sold at all and I had the same sort of feelings watching this as I did with the WiiU reveal. I'm not sold on the concept. I don't personally need a console I can take with me everywhere. Not a fan of those detachable controllers as they look too small and borderline unusable. On the plus side, proper Mario. I just hope it has the rest of a good library to back it up.
  9. How new are we talking?
  10. I'm with you there. Mostly. I just want Nintendo to show that there's more to them than Mario and Zelda. If we see a snippet of a New Super Mario Bros. type game, I'll cry.
  11. They're in education, but some contain additional responsibilities. It's something that I know I could be great at.
  12. I only saw highlights and snippets from the game, but he looked fantastic. Awesome player. I was actually able to watch City vs. Barcelona yesterday and it was one almighty frustrating experience. City didn't look too bad at times. They worked the ball into good areas, but they chose the wrong option every single time. The mistakes that they made were of their own doing. Every single goal came as a result of a stupid mistakes, and you could even include the sending off and penalty incident in that. I admire Guardiola, but his tactics/philosophy lost City the game yesterday. The keeper, who I'm not even sure is worth raving about anyway, made a stupid error for the sending off. That ball should have been clearing the stands and well out of danger. That didn't happen. He tried to play the ball on the deck and, instead, looked like a complete twat in the process. Sterling had the ball in some awesome areas, yet the final cross was either shit or it didn't result in a shot being taken. My biggest problem with Guardiola is that there's so much focus on foreplay leading up to the goal rather than shots being taken. There were a dozen instances yesterday where City could have taken a shot. Instead, they passed it sideways and ended up losing the ball anyway. Football is about scoring goals. Imo, nobody gives a shit about a pass somebody made in the 54th minute unless it either leads to a goal or a chance. It's pointless. City could have actually got something out of the game yesterday had they taken more shots and had they cut out on stupid errors. I'm not saying Barcelona are a bad side at all, but City made them look a billion times better yesterday. At 1-0, they threw the game away.
  13. I used to feel this way, but now I don't. There's more to life than lifting weights or working out and it absolutely isn't everything. I do it because it's fun, but also because of the health benefits. If you miss a day, it's not the end of the world. I've definitely taken a step back and have allowed myself to see the bigger picture. With exercise, you are definitely in it for the long game. Being consistent over a long period of time is key. If you miss a workout here or there because of something cropping up or a clash with another commitment, then you miss it. Sometimes your body can appreciate an extra day off anyway, if you've been consistent up until that point. It's when you stop doing it over a longer period of time when it begins to become a problem. If the days turn into weeks and months, for example. I'd start to get pissed off at that point.
  14. I've signed up to another teaching agency and have also got the applications ready for about five other jobs that I've found, one of which looks pretty interesting. Forgotten just how boring applying for jobs can be.
  15. I wouldn't say that I was full on erect about this, but I'm definitely curious about it and will be tuning in. 3 minutes is plenty of time. You can get so much across in that short amount of time. The Wii remote reveal was well under 3 minutes:
  16. Happy DaftDay!
  17. Finished both this and Left Behind. I've posted my thoughts in the Game Diary thread. An absolute masterpiece. Generation defining. One of those games that shows you how far the medium has come and where it can potentially go next. I loved everything about it. The exploration, combat, stealth, graphics, sound, level design, character development, script...it just all comes together to form a beautiful game. Not sure how Naughty Dog are ever supposed to top that. That must be depressing.
  18. It's been a while since I've been in here. I've been very tempted to play through The Last of Us lately, so I decided to have a go at that again. What a fantastic experience. I'm trying to find flaws with the game and it's very, very difficult. I had completely forgotten just how insane the graphics are for this, but the sound design is also top notch, as is the script work and the animation. I'm also a big fan of the gameplay. Naughty Dog have the right balance here and they strike it better here than they do in the Uncharted games. There's the right amount of combat, where it doesn't cross that line and become tedious. There's the right amount of stealth, so you can choose to go down that route if you want to or not. There's definitely some horror and tension there, but it combines well with the action to strike a perfect balance. I'm tempted to say that I love it even more second time around. I also went through Left Behind, which is short but exceedingly sweet. The character development in both the main game and this DLC is extremely well done. I genuinely cared for the characters you meet along the way, not just for Joel and Ellie. The way that the characters interact and play off each other is just masterful, especially the scenes to show Ellie and Riley's friendship. 10/10 game, imo. Definitely, definitely in my top ten. For some reason, I really enjoyed the combat this time around. Moar, please. Games of 2016 Flower - Finished Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Finished The Unfinished Swan - Finished Grim Fandango Remastered - Finished Race The Sun - Finished The Wolf Among Us - Finished Injustice: Gods Among Us - Story Finished The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Ico - Finished Tokyo Jungle - Finished Grand Theft Auto 5 - Finished! 19. I saw a few United fans on facebook bemoan our performance yesterday and question why we didn't go 4-4-2 away from home against Liverpool. Liverpool's results this season: Liverpool 5 - 1 Hull Chelsea 1 - 2 Liverpool Liverpool 4 - 1 Leicester Arsenal 3 - 4 Liverpool Yup, I can't think of a reason why we didn't go all out and expansive against them! Up until at that, they'd only dropped four points all season...with two of those "dropped" points being "only" a draw away at Spurs. We had no Martial yesterday, as he's injured. No Mkhitaryan, as he's injured, too. That basically sapped so much of the pace from the side and we couldn't counter successfully, therefore limiting our chances. If Martial had found the ball in the same pockets that Rashford had in the first half, then we'd have created more. Yesterday was absolutely necessary. Had we gone out there and tried to play a more adventurous style, we'd have been torn apart like wet paper. We played well against Stoke last game and only managed to draw that 1-1. Had we suffered a hammering yesterday (which many United fans thought would be possible giving Liverpool's form), then that would have impacted the next few games...which just so happen to be huge games, too. We have Chelsea away next. I'd rather us go out and try to win every game. But, I can completely accept why we didn't yesterday. We clearly went out there with a plan to stop Liverpool completely dominating the match and walking away with a heavy scoreline. To that extent, we succeeded. Defensively, we looked really tight yesterday. That's part of the foundation of what makes a great team. If we had planned to go out there yesterday trying to outscore Liverpool, I dread to think what the scoreline would have. Based on our current form and their current form, it would have been asking for a hiding.
  20. I'm in a similar situation to @Blade. We were both #TeamNintendo last gen, so I'm just as in the dark as he is. Speaking of Bioshock, I've just bought the collection! Looking forward to giving that a whirl.
  21. That's the same situation for me. I want to try it out, but getting all of the necessary hardware and software is expensive. Eager to hear how people are finding it. Can't wait for the second wave of games, because that's where we'll start to see the good stuff, imo.
  22. I've started playing through this for the second time and I've fallen in love with it all over again I've forgotten just how amazing the environments and characters are. I'm still in the Summer chapter/arc of the game and it's just breathtaking to look at. What an unbelievable game. I can't put it down.
  23. I've had a strange audio problem two or three times where I'll boot up the PS4 and I receive no sound. Turning the TV off and then back on again seems to restart it. Can't tell whether it's the tv, PS4 or cable, but it's not frequent enough to become annoying. Just more of a "huh, strange" kind of moment. With regards to download speeds: I can't tell whether mine are slow or not. I don't do an awful lot of downloading, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. It's never taken me days to download anything, so I don't get annoyed by it.
  24. I don't watch others gaming (Let's Play) and it's not really something I need in my life. I usually find that these videos are too long and too time consuming. Why do I need to watch somebody play through The Walking Dead when I can experience it for myself without the annoying commentary and the constant need "to entertain"? In general, I'm not big on the whole youtube/e-celebrity culture. There's the occasional video here or there that is only a few minutes long and can be hilarious. Thinking back a few years now, LadderGoat was pretty hilarious. Videos such as that, where stupid shit happens. That's pretty funny to me and I've watched a few of these videos.
  25. What does it matter what they're playing? It's too easy to have a pop at COD and FIFA. They bring in big numbers for a reason. Supply and demand.
