  1. Just finished Bioshock. Had a fantastic time with it and found it very hard to stop playing. Loved using the plasmids in this game and felt that they had quite an inFAMOUS feel to it. Will probably start the second game at some point this week.
  2. Bioshock I've bought the collection on PS4 and felt that it was the right time to give it a run through. I definitely picked up vibes very similar to the Batman Arkham games, for some reason. Overall, I'd say that I really enjoyed it. It can be tough going at times and I did die a lot. Tempted to drop the difficulty to easy when I play the second. I love the world that's created in the game. It's mysterious, creepy and feels like there's a lot of history there. Very dystopian. I enjoyed picking up any bits of info about the backstory and felt that the whole thing was a good experience. I blitzed through so much of it during the last two days as there is something addictive about it. 3. I could see that coming. I can imagine the game being so much "fuller" later down the line where you can buy more ship technologies, shirt building parts, base building parts, etc. I hope that they keep adding parts as time goes by because that's the sort of stuff that I'd love and would hook me back in.
  4. Well, there's a meaty overarching story mode, character specific stories, survival modes, versus modes and online casual play and ranked matches. I think that's pretty decent. I do think this will be another game that will grow and grow. I'm hoping that this really takes off as the big fighter to own. More characters, stages and modes, please.
  5. Hmm. I think I'm going to wait to clear my current lot of games before I dive back in. I've got Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bioshock 2/Infinite, Tearaway, Gravity Rush and quite a few others to start, as well as current games that I'm already playing AND the PSN stuff to work through. I'm tempted to maybe start over and do survival mode when that happens. Hopefully the next update will be out by then, too. I'm curious to see what happens next. They mentioned base building and freighters around launch time, but anything after this is new. There's loads of potential, tbh. Imagine if you could start up colonies and could recruit aliens to come and live there, for example.
  6. Genuinely think this could finally be "Liverpool's year". Wouldn't surprise me. I'm just shocked that you're posting at all. Usually you disappear for weeks on end after a defeat.
  7. Reality has definitely set in that we're not going to be out of here by Christmas. Dare I say it, I don't think we'll even be out by my birthday, which is in mid-January. Absolutely nothing we can do about it either. We've done everything on our end and have had our solicitors on the case, but to no avail. Buying a house is over-rated.
  8. That top four looks about right for the end of the season, as does the bottom three. The positions will change, but the teams involved in both of those brackets look like a good fit. I can't see United getting top four with the way that the other teams are playing. Yes, there's a long way to go. Yes, teams will drop points. But, we're far too inconsistent at the moment and I'm not sure when it's all going to click. Even if United win today, we would be 9 points behind Chelsea, after only 13 games. That's a lot of ground to make up. Our only hope is that Arsenal capitulate later in the season and leave the door open.
  9. I'm part of the "I like/love the game" camp and I really can't wait to see what happens in the future. I do think the game will only improve and become an even better experience in the future. This update looks great! I commend HelloGames for getting their heads down and working on this, despite all of the criticism that they received. I do hope that they have been listening, as painful as it must have been. It's not nice receiving the level of criticism that they have endured, a lot of which borders on abuse. I hope that they turn it around and that the game becomes more of a critical success for them and their fans.
  10. I'm really enjoying this, despite the story mode being pretty shiiiiiit. It's not really told all that well, but thankfully the gameplay more than holds up.
  11. That's so lame. I wonder if footballers look at this stuff afterwards and cringe?
  12. This is the one WiiU game I wanted but it always seemed too expensive every time I had a craving to buy it. Hope it's cheaper on the PS4 and hope they fix the loading issues. Will give it a go then.
  13. Going digital is awesome. No faffing about changing discs! I'll give this a go on the weekend. Too much going and tired during the week to concentrate. Hope I like it!
  14. Really? Herrera has been dynamite in midfield this season and probably been one of our best players. Bailly has also been fantastic. Mata has also had a good season but Martial has been below average.
  15. We have an excellent goalkeeper, a functioning midfield and (when available) a pretty good defence. My concern is the attack. We can't put teams away. Along with that, Mourinho's game management didn't help yesterday as it just invited unnecessary Arsenal pressure onto us. We have too many issues with each of our strikers. Rashford is still young and inexperienced. It's a lot to ask of him to lead the line as a sole striker. Ibra is in his latter years and isn't a pacey player who can run in behind and we also can't close down from the front. Rooney and Martial hardly play as strikers and aren't performing. So, it's still not balanced. I think we've spent enough money now. There should be enough quality there to mould together a team of 11 players (plus a few impact subs) who can win games. If there isn't, then we need to question our whole transfer policy and maybe rethink the whole thing.
  16. I can't say that I've seen that many videogame related spoilers or videos that contain spoilers. Some like to be able to analyse a trailer and dissect it. That's fine. There's a lot of fun in that, as people come together to share their thoughts and discuss what they think could happen based on what they've seen.
  17. I could see those games coming onto the Switch, but only alongside the other console's counterparts, too. It really depends on how much time, effort and money Ubisoft are willing to put into these games. They're going to want to see a return on those investments and they've got more of a chance of getting that if it's available to as many people as possible. So, based on that, I can only see them all being multiplatform. With the exception of maybe BG&E, which I could possibly see being exclusive or timed exclusive, depending on what deals have been talked about behind the scenes. The audience on the other consoles isn't just one singular crowd. It's made up of lots of big and smaller crowds that co-exist together. There's the type of gamer who buys the Battlefields, CoDs, Titanfalls, etc, the type of crowd who play the competitive fighters (Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat), the RPG nuts, the crowd who just play sports titles, anime fans, survival horror purists, etc. There's more, too. Within all of those, I do honestly think that Ubisoft would look at that and see market/s there that they could tap into with games like Rayman and Prince of Persia, etc.
  18. The user bases of the PS4 and XBO are already there, whereas the Switch still needs to build up its crowd. I can't see Ubisoft limiting their potential sales by going for a smaller audience. Even if those markets are saturated, there's still so many potential customers to sell to that it wouldn't be wise to ignore them.
  19. I thought it was a very frustrating game today, for quite a few reasons. I do think that overall United were the better of the two teams, even if it wasn't by much. Buuuut, Mourinho's game management today was terrible and cost us the points. I haven't watched Match of the Day and didn't catch up with the post-game analyse after the match as I had to leave the house shortly after and have only just got back in, so I don't know if the pundits picked this up or not. But, we were more than cruising, United were going for a second and were one chance away from getting it. Mourinho's substitutions hurt the team today as they invited the pressure onto the team and stopped us from attacking. In addition to that, I thought the refereeing performance today was not a great one. Imo, it should have been a penalty in the first half. Monreal (I think it was) impedes Valencia and doesn't make any attempt to play the ball whatsoever. Clear foul and a clear penalty. We should have had a free-kick in the second half on the edge of their box, which the ref just seemed to ignore completely. Not quite sure what was going on today. Not saying at all that we lost the game because of the ref, but that the performance was notably poor and it did have an impact on the game in a negative way. Overall, I thought the game was poor. There was no bite to this and it was pretty tame stuff at times. I don't think Arsenal played that well, but they leave with a point so well done to them. I definitely don't think there's enough in that United attack. If I were an Arsenal defender, I wouldn't have been too worried about coming up against this United side with the way that they're playing the game. It's still too slow for my liking and not lethal enough.
  20. Congratulations, you sexy fuck!
  21. I adored the first game and it's one of my favourite early-PS4 memories. For some reason, the trailer for the second one didn't connect with me. I loved the setting of Chicago and it had a sort of grimy/noir type of feeling to it. It wasn't the most colourful game, but that worked in its favour given the espionage type of feeling and atmosphere that it was trying to convey. I loved that vibe. I didn't get that same sort of vibe from the second trailer and it almost doesn't feel like the same series. I'll wait and see.
  22. I bought this and have only had a brief chance to play. I love it, though! I love the movement, the visuals, the movesets and the options. I'm definitely glad that I've waited and I hope that the game just continues to grow. Yaaay.
  23. There needs to be a plan in place or at least a clear indication of things coming together by the end of the summer term. I can understand that plans do take time to formulate, so I'll be reasonable. But, I'm not a mug and there are other jobs and great schools to work out.
  24. Whoa, that's a quick rise to the top! Impressive. Well done! I think I've made the right choice for now. I'm the Year 6 teacher now and I'm in the middle of building links with Year 5. We've started "setting" for Maths and Literacy, for example. I feel that I still have more to offer here and if I were to leave right now, I may regret it further on down the line. Plus, as you say, the drive would have killed me. I couldn't do that job effectively due to that. I feel that I could do a good job at the other school (first job offer), but it hasn't got a good rep and I would literally be jumping at the first job that came my way. Not always the wisest thing to do. We'll see how this goes. I'm Key Stage 2 and 3 trained and have experience teaching everything from Reception to Year 10. We got bought out by a group in April and we are partnered up with a school not too far away from us. My degree specialises in Transition, our current school goes right from 2 1/2 to 16 and the partner school only goes up to 11. So, the thinking is that I could help transition children from that school to this one once they finish at 11. Also, I'd build links (which I'm already doing) from Year 5 to Year 6, and then on to Year 7. There's bits and pieces in there and it could actually be something incredible. Whether it materialises or not is down to the Head. If it happens or something equally as important comes my way, I'll stay. If not, then I go.
  25. As mentioned earlier, I had a job offer on Tuesday. An acquaintance contacted me on Tuesday and told me that she knows somebody who works at the school and apparently the staff turnover is really high (which I sorta knew anyway) and that the morale there isn't great. On Wednesday, I had my interview for a year 5/6 phase leader. The day didn't start off well with me waking up early to find out that Trump was the new American President. So, that wasn't great. What also wasn't great was the 1 hour and 10 minute drive just getting to the new school. I knew in the car on the way there that this was too far and I couldn't see myself doing this everyday. Imagine if there was an accident or I leave during rush hour. I could be spending 3 hours a day in a car! I arrived at the school on time and met the other two candidates, one who just happened to be an internal candidate. I didn't let that bother me and just carried on as normal. We were given our schedules of the day and it looked pretty busy. The first activity they made us do was to analyse 3 pages worth of data, which were school results compared to the national average and broken down by gender, ethnic background, free school meals, looked after children, English as an Additional Language, etc. I had to analyse this data, spot trends and suggest plans of action by writing a report. We had 30 minutes to do this. Next activity, analyse three children's books and scrutinise the work AND marking of the teachers when compared to the mark scheme. Again, 30 minutes, write a report. Third activity: I had to present a five minute presentation in front of... the executive headteacher, deputy head, two junior heads, head of teaching and learning, another teacher, school secretary AND the other two candidates. Of course, I was told I had to go first. We weren't allowed to use any powerpoints or illustrate this in any way and were rigidly timed, with one guy letting us know after each minute had passed. After that, I had my lesson observation and then finally my interview, which lasted for around 40 minutes. As you could imagine, I was absolutely fucking exhausted. The executive headteacher is a complete dragon. She has a reputation for taking failing schools and making them outstanding, but she pushes you to your limits. That's both exciting and "frightening" as the internal candidate mentioned it. There were hardly any staff older than their mid-30s or 40s. That was very noticeable. I was called back into the office after around an hour and I, somehow, got offered the job! To get an offer from a school of this quality is a huge compliment. So, I was obviously delighted. Now, I had a decision to make. I was scheduled to be on evening duty at my school (working with the kids who live there, helping them with homework, etc) and drove straight there after getting the offer. I was given 24 hours to make a decision. A few of my friends were still about, so I talked it through with them. By this point, I decided I had to go speak to the headmaster directly. I had three options in my head: 1. Take the first offer. 2. Take offer 2, despite it being so far away. 3. Reject both and stay. I walked into his office and talked about the week up until that point. I mentioned both job offers, what the jobs were entailing and made it clear that I'm not just a classroom teacher, but can offer a whole lot more. We talked about some of the plans for the school going forward and I told him that I would be rejecting both jobs offers. Again, I reiterated that if I were to leave right now, it would be out of complete anger and disappointment, which is not how I want to leave a place that I hold very dear. We've started talking about going forward from here and offering me more, so I do genuinely think this is on the cards now. It could go in one of many directions, so we'll see what happens. As much as he's pissed me about with this instance, he's still probably one of the top 3 people I've worked with and has come through for me before. I've made it clear that he has to make it worth it or I'm off! I spent the rest of the week telling people about the two interviews and offers. It's been quite a nice ego-boost in a lot of ways. I know that I'm valuable and have loads to offer. We'll see what happens next but I'm hopeful that the outcome will be positive. I sorta knew if I jumped on either of these job offers, I would literally be going for the first thing I was offered. At least now I can cherry pick a bit and see what else is out there and definitely choose the right one for me if the right one comes. As good as the second job would have been, it's in completely the wrong area. I'd be spending most of my life in a car just getting there and back. Not worth it. Plus, it would cancel out the extra money with the money spent on petrol. Nope.
