  1. Best XI De Gea Valencia - Bailly - Blind - Shaw Herrera - Schneiderlin Pogba Martial - Ibrahimovic - Mkhitaryan Second XI Romero Darmian - Smalling - Jones - Rojo Fellaini - Carrick Rooney Mata - Rashford - Lingard With my best XI, I've put down what I personally want to see. The team that Mourinho has played so far is more like: De Gea Valencia - Bailly - Blind - Shaw Fellaini - Pogba Rooney Mata - Ibrahimovic - Martial There's lots of combinations that can work. Personally, I think a Herrera/Schneiderlin combo with Pogba in front looks the best.
  2. We played the DS to death. @Eenuh has tons of games for it. Something about the 3DS didn't click that much for me, but I think she still likes it. Ish. No Advance Wars is fucking criminal. I prefer the DS because I think it arrived at a time when everything seemed new and exciting. I loved Hotel Dusk, Electroplankton and Mario Kart DS (still my favourite).
  3. I'm extremely pissed off at work and I'm also bemused at the whole situation. Last year, I taught Year 5. The class are a tricky bunch and there are quite a few difficult kids in there. Overall, I did a good job with them but was nervous about them moving up because we do Year 6 a bit strangely in our place. They effectively have a different teacher for each subject, so quite a change to the system. Another teacher at the school (S) offered to drop from being a Secondary English teacher to Year 5 if I fancied making the change to Year 6. I agreed to it, as I knew that the class would cause lots of problems if there wasn't someone there to look after them all the time. I knew I'd basically have to redo everything, but I agreed to it because it seemed like the right thing to do. The Head Teacher said he was quite happy about having a "strong male in the upper end of the Junior School". My Head of Junior School said it would be a good move for me and it could potentially lead to other things in the future. Fast forward a week and that same Head of Junior School tells me that she's leaving. Our school was bought out as part of a group and one of the other Junior Heads is coming over once or twice a week to oversee things. The kicker is that my colleague © has been told that he's "the one to go to if there's a problem when the HoJ is not around"...effectively making him acting Junior Head for 3 days a week. I'm pissed off because I wasn't offered this role and, from the looks of it, not even considered. I've always put myself out there and offered to help out in a number of areas, including managing the school library...which isn't even in my contract! I only do it because the person in charge of it is lazy and isn't interested. I'm also fucked off because C is infamous for not turning up to staff meetings. He hasn't been to the breaktime meetings (they happen twice a week) in at least 18 months, closer to 2 years. His relationship with the last Junior Head and the one before it were disastrous and he's known for being lazy. He's the type that leaves dead on the bell and doesn't offer to help out in any other sort of way. For the past two years, I've been one of the only full time members of staff in the Junior School and I've sorted out tons of things, including organising school plays, etc. I'm also annoyed because, as a result of switching year groups, I had to swap rooms with the languages department, who then had to move rooms. It's created a chain reaction and so that's been a mess. I went into work during the summer holidays and I couldn't get into the cupboards because they had the keys. They had left all of the display work up, tons of blutack on the walls and just a right ol' fucking mess. I went in several times over the summer (a few times to help S with the changeover, a few times/a week for the library, a few days to sort out as much of my new room as I could) and I STILL couldn't get everything done. The cupboard doors were still locked today...until at noon today, when the teacher turned up whilst I was having a meeting in that same room, unlocked the cupboards...then proceeded to write me a note saying, "Jim, can't sort out cupboards today, Sorry!" before leaving. I'm so utterly pissed off and can't believe how I ended up in this situation. I went in the most over the summer out of our entire team of teachers to sort out a library that wasn't mine, to work around the mess that others have made and creating resources and booklets because nothing had been left for me, yet I still ended up getting through the door at 7 o'clock with even more to do. To top all of that off, I've been overlooked for a major opportunity that I have more than earned the right to be considered for. There's other stuff too and other people pissing me off, but I can't be fucked to talk about that now! I've arranged a meeting with the Head tomorrow to at least understand some of the reasoning behind this. I've had tons of support from colleagues and friends at work who can see that I've been screwed over, but it doesn't really change anything. I'm completely demotivated and the last two days for training have been completely fucking terrible.
  4. There aren't that many candidates, imo. I guess he wins by default.
  5. I know what FLUDD is but I don't know why it would be in the presentation.
  6. The lack of multiplayer seems to be the thing that's annoyed people, or it's at least started the ball rolling. If they also waited too long and lost all hype like you said, that would translate over to bad sales. It's very much a lose-lose situation. If you wait, the fans will move on to something else and you won't get the sales anyway. I'm surprised at how big this backlash has been because I don't think the game warrants it, at least not on PS4. I hear that the PC version was another story but appears to be mostly sorted now? Jealous. I found a lovely planet in my first system with gorgeous pink flowers and trees and tons of water and ocean life. It's crazy how different the experience has been for a lot of people. I've actually not run into that many creatures yet.
  7. 1. I'd like to think so. I'd be surprised if it wasn't. 2. Nope, it's just a codename. 3. Yes. Maybe closer to £250. 4. No, I think I've missed something here. 5. Yes. 6. Yes. 7. I hope not...I'm going to say no. 8. Just the one colour for now.
  8. Surprised that Chadli has been sold by Spurs. He's a good player to have in your squad and he's got a decent goal-scoring record. Looking at their squad right now, I wonder if they're setting themselves up for a fall. A few injuries and it could be not-so-great season for them. I don't expect them to make top four anyway.
  9. They had to get the game out there and I'm glad that it's here. If we really had to wait even longer to get the full vision, we could be waiting years...or it might actually never get released. What if they ran out of money or if too many people left the company? A lot of people were dubious that the game would even work at all. This is an amazing technical feat, imo. Look at the file size and look at what they've managed to include. The game actually works. If you're on the surface of a planet and see a cave, you can go into it. If you see a hill on the horizon, you can run to it. If you see a planet in the sky, you can go there. I love what they've managed to do. I love the visuals, I love the music and sounds, I love the crafting and, for me, it's lived up to my expectations. It's not perfect. I can understand fully if they had to remove things because games and circumstances change. I imagine their coding is complex and if they didn't feel that something was quite right, maybe it is best to remove it and add it in afterwards when it's finished completely. The beauty of games these days is that you can do that. That Miyamoto phrase about a bad game being bad forever is no longer true. Some of the best content or ideas that made it into The Witcher 3 weren't available at launch. To make it clear, I don't think the game could ever have lived up to the hype. It was built up to be this biiiig thing and you're only setting yourself up for a fall once that happens. The communication hasn't been great, the hype began too soon and the interviews and coverage was crazy. IGN didn't help. They built this game up to be this massive thing by throwing loads of coverage and previews at people, interviews and so on and then knocked it all down when the game eventually did come out. The internet is a pretty hateful place these days and...if there's one thing people enjoy doing, it's hating.
  10. I loved the visuals of GX, so I'd up for them going even further with that. What I want: - More insane speed, include tracks with multiple inversions, corkscrews and drops. To me, F Zero feels like you're on a roller coaster at times and I love that feeling. - Keep the amount of competitors on the track the same. - Multiple/more environments for the tracks. I loved Mute City, Lightning, Aeropolis and Fire Field and what's great is that the visuals and tracks are different in each one. You genuinely do feel like you're racing in a completely different environment and you are on a big tour of multiple circuits. - NO WEAPONS. Keep this the same as before and just make it about the racing. - ONLINE. F Zero online is a must. With full voice chat, of course. - Let us create our own custom cups. It would be cool to be able to create your own "playlist" of tracks and be able to name your cup, maybe even design it. When you play online again, you could see who last won that cup. - Design your own tracks. You could even add that into the custom cups above! - I quite enjoyed the story mode in GX. Would like to see that again. - Full replay editor and photo mode. Let us be able to share videos and photos with our friends, too.
  11. I'm back into this and I've played for about 5 hours today. Found a system earlier that was very toxic. One of the planets was extremely toxic and had storms with sentinels on high alert. The slightest thing I did, they were after me. I found tons of caves with large quantities of Albumen Pearls. Good for the wallet, but bad when you're trying to evade the sentinels. Also won my first space battle today against 3 pirates. I'm excited about the future of this game. To me, it's already a good game and I think it's got the potential to become even better in the future. The base nature of this game works. The structure, frame and mechanics are all there. There's loads they could do to improve it even more.
  12. I know nothing about either player. I'm amazed that the Mustafi deal is only just going through now. That's been dragging on for weeks. Not quite sure what the hold up has been about. Surely if you want a player, you just go for it? I'd be going crazy if, say, the Ibrahimovic or Pogba deals were still dragging on until now.
  13. It does sound like you just want to be spoon-fed everything. Use your imagination or maybe figure some stuff our for yourself or accept that not everything is going to be divulged because some things are always going to be a mystery.
  14. WiiSports was 10 years ago now. Nintendo didn't really follow up from that and we haven't had a massive amount of games since or in recent years that really warrant these multiple control schemes. I can just see this being another control scheme thrown into the mix that could potentially make things even more confusing. Simplicity is under-rated.
  15. I wasn't including you as a hater. I've been reading a lot of the impressions on Reddit and there's a definite split between those loving it and hating it. I enjoyed what I played before I was away. I'm eager for HelloGames to show what plans they have for the future. It's good at the moment, but I can see it growing and becoming even better. That's exciting.
  16. How do Arsenal fans feel about these signings? United gained 3 points today that we probably wouldn't have earned last year. Last season, we would've lost that game 1-0. Today, the team didn't play amazingly and they left it late, but there was a lot more fluency and urgency there that we've lacked. It's nice to actually look at the team and see balance there. Luke Shaw coming back has made a big different and Valencia is complimenting him well on the other side. Rashford provides pace and he'll have another good season, imo.
  17. His videos sum up a lot of what I think sucks about the internet. I've not seen his No Man's Sky video, but I can't stand the overlong shitty intros that reference the thing he's talking about, the intro music and just the overindulgent length of his videos. The production of it all is detestable. I'm back in the UK now so I'm looking forward to jumping back in with the game. Fuck the haters.
  18. The recent stuff about the NX having motion controls doesn't really fill me with that much confidence. We'll obviously have to wait and see how Nintendo implement this but...I'm a bit tired of multiple controls schemes and games feeling like a demonstration for tech. I just want to play games of various types. Deep games that you can lose hours, days, weeks and months to and games which are fun to play in short bursts. Imo, innovation comes in various forms. I understand Nintendo need to do things differently, but the obsession over controller methods is getting a bit tiresome for me.
  19. Nothing would really change that much for me, except that I wouldn't have that constant inner worry about money. I'm not very money-orientated or obsessed with it at all. I wouldn't suddenly start buying loads of flashy gadgets and cars. I enjoy my job, so I'd still stick at it either full time or close to it. I'd spend the money probably purchasing a property and making that into our dream home, although building one from scratch would be great. There's a few nice things here and there that I've got my eye on that I'd like to purchase, like an electric drumkit. But, that's more down to current circumstances as to why I haven't purchased one yet rather than money. As for telling people, I'm really not that bothered either way who knows and who doesn't. I already know which family members and friends I hold close and I'd like to think that I'm pretty good with being able to tell who's genuine and who is just after the money. There's a lot of false people out there.
  20. Why don't you just get them anyway? The only thing really stopping you from enjoying these games is you. Get them, play them and enjoy them for what they are.
  21. Yeah, this is correct. I've bought many games at launch this generation and have paid in that ballpark of £30-£35. I don't know if it's just limited to this generation (since I was TeamWii last gen), but online shopping has been fantastic for gaming, at least for me anyway. I can buy games much closer to release without having to wait for weeks/months for price drops or preowned editions.
  22. I'm using Duolingo at the moment and am enjoying it. For Spanish, I used the Paul Noble CDs a year or so ago and thought they were fantastic. The problem I'm finding is actually the next step. I'm having a bit of difficulty finding the right sort of level, since I'm past the beginner stage in both. A lot of resources out there seemed to be aimed fully at the beginner level, whereas I need the stuff aimed at intermediate. I'll check our Memrise and Anki! I've found this for Dutch Pimsleuer and am tempted to have a look at it. Are they aimed at newcomers to the language or do they progress up from that? I've had a look at Linguaphone for Dutch and it looks absolutely amazing...but it's almost £200!
  23. @Shorty, I'd just leave it and let things continue. If you're happy and she's happy (I'm assuming she is, I don't know her), then enjoy it and see where it goes. Your phrase about being happy for the first time in years is the clincher. Maybe there will be a natural moment where the right circumstances pop up and you ask her if it's serious.
  24. I'm actually amazed at how they accomplished this. There are two ways in which you can get to the back of the house, one of which passes the front entrance, which was already locked and gated up. We were less than five metres away from the back entrance into the house and there were periods of time where either one or both of us were venturing back inside. It's not even like we were careless and left the entrances unattended, we were right there! It's crazy and pretty damn disgusting the lengths people will go to. The more I learn about people, the more I dislike them.
