anti-matter and matter dont exactly cancel each other out. the particle/anti-particle pairs annihilate and release huge amounts of energy (or if the energy is high enough new particles are created). E=mc^2, in fact. So a electron and positron will annihilate, as will a proton and anti-proton. It would provide an amazing and clean source of energy. Too bad antimatter takes massive amounts of energy to create, and containment its pretty tricky (but possible).

to be fair, dark matter and dark energy are just names we've given these two things that we know hardley anything about, they arn't actually forms of energy or matter (well they could be but we dont know). Its another one of those cass where the theory suggests these things exists, so we try and find them. dark energy and dark matter are just names, all we really know about them is that they exist and they they have gravitaional attraction. basically they're a fudge to fit the equations. (it happens alot in physics, everythings a damn fudge, or perfect scenario). And yea the earth is meanignless in the universe, its fairly arrogant to think the universe revolvesaround, and created for, a buch of primates that got smart enough to be that arrogant.

@somme you obviously havent walked around oxford when all the posh students are around. anyway i my own form of rebeliin i refuse to pay more than £20 for any peice of clothing. except a suit. t-shirts, no more than a tenner. some peoplehave more money than sense. my £1 t-shirt does exactly the same as one costing £50+.

I'm guessing she has a virus scanner and ad blocker (like AVG and Ad-aware). Are the virus definitions up to date (else virus scanners useless). If shes using norton, id recommend just getting rid of it, its more than likely past the free trial and useless. Make sure shes up to date with all windows updates, all installed. Could try reinstalling these three programs and reinstalling, mayby a shared file got corrupted. Also perform general maintainance, defrag, disk cleanup. Run scandisk on all drives (requires restart), maybe that might turn something up. By the sounds of your post you've probably already done most of that. So if it still doesnt work: trillian>msn firefox>IE and theres plenty of media players out there begging to take WMP's place (linux>windows :P) Hopefully someone else might give more specific help.

Personally i reformat my pc every 6 months of so, helps keep it at a good speed. though i probably wouldnt recommend it unless youve done it a few times before and have multiple backups of everything.

Very cool sig, stylish, good use of colour. text could shand out a little more, but as it is, it fits the rest of the sig really well and isnt obtrusive. 9.5/10 -
I was assuming date, price maybe conformation of launch titles. Its not that amazing, but pre-orders will prolly start being taken after it. Im guessing number of consoles shipped to each region be confirmed. VC details and pricing, a few other features cleared up. Personally im looking forward to it.

Snakes on a Plane was actually awesome. I think there was only one scene that was not needed (the whole playstation 2 is good scene at the end). Just seemed a bit too tacked onto the rest of the film, lost alot of momentum. but apart from that it will be a cult B movie up there with the Thing, and the Blob.

jeans, t-shirt, jog bottems if i can't be bothered, if its cold a grey or creme hoodie. For any students out there, sports soccer do t-shirts in loads of colours, with a simple umbro sign on. their like £1.50 each. i have about 20 @moria, does that t-shirt have like bits sewn onto it, aswell as the random blueness. if so i got it too, so good taste.

Hey, I've had a gander round the net and can't seem to find if there will a live video stream of the leipzig conference. As hopefully all the wii details will be announced at this conference, it would be nice to get the information as soon as its announced. Anyway, anyone know if any websites will be offering a stream? (PS feel free to move this)

Seriously, why is this debate even going on? The simplest option would be to just drop pluto as a planet. Whats wrong with: 4 Inner planets (mercury, venus, earth, mars) Asteroid belt (inclueding ceres) 4 outer planets (saturn, juipiter, unranus, neptune) Kupiter belt objects (including pluto and xena) Ceres has been known about for ages, and yes it is just a very large asteroid. It has more of a claim to being a planet than pluto (at leas there used to be a planet where the asteroid belt was). And the idea of making Channon a planets is just idiotic, if it wasnt orbiing pluto it would be completely ignored. Its just a rocky ball of ice. There making too big a fuss of the fact pluto and channon orbit each other. Whats wrong with just dropping pluto?

Good luck guys. Don't worry about them so much, if you miss out on a few grades most uni's still accept you or let you on a similar course. One of my friends needed BBC, and got DDD, she begged and they still let her in. Even if you don't get the grades, its not the end of the world, the clearing system works really well. Again goood luck.

Facebook is by far superior. All those garish colours on bebo make me think its aimed at 10-16. facebbok is better for 18+. if you 17 no one like you.

Personally I feel that the problems it will cause the the poorly implemented or extreme use of the wii-mote. Take the newly announced animal crossing, the wii-mote could easily be used too much. Make a digging motion to turn the soil. Tip the wii-mote to water you plants. Make a scythe motion to harvest the plants. It might get to the stage where it would be easier to actually grow a bunch of crops in your back yard. The wii-mote needs to be used in such a way that it emulates the feeling of doing a task or action, but without mundane repetition that actually doing the task evolves. I think developers need to ask themselves when adding wii-mote action to a game, whether its actually fun. I don't want developers lack of imagination mean that all they are doing is simply porting reality into the control scheme. Using a disgorger to remove a hook from a fish's mouth in a fishing game is certainly immersion, but not exactly fun.The decision to not use the wii-mote for the next smash brothers game is a very good decision, and one that shows developers are thinking about these issues. Using a gun, or lightsaber, works because its not something we can do in everyday life. It works because swooshing a wii-mote around, and imagining its a lightsaber is way more fun than the alternative, pressing a button. However, from the wii advert, how is pretending the wii mote a frying pan or whisk, more fun than actually going into the kitchen and making a black forest gateau. Would you rather be pretending to swing a golf club (ala wii-golf) or playing mini golf for real? I want to see developers using their imaginations to enhance the experience of the gameplay, immersing the gamer in an experience that he or she could not have easily or readily in reality. Yes I want to see the wii-mote used to the RTS to the console, but there is so much more that can be done than using it as a simple mouse. Hopefully the first generation of third party games will show developers which features work well with the wii-mote, and which work best when mapped to a button.

if your on a buget, check http://www.ebuyer.com or http://www.novatech.co.uk. theres quite a few places that do cheaping laptops. You can save yourself £50 and install linux instead of windows. give you a bit more to spend on hardware. (using gimp instead of photoshop)

cheers, that child does severely need to die. or the advertisement taken off air. either will do. my favourite was letty's, it appealed to my sense of humor and made me smile. -
God i wish i was doing A-levels again. I got my 2nd year uni exam results back, which got a 2:2 in. Which in Oxford speak is a fail, so i've gotta go see my tutors and everything when i go back. Not that happy, as i've been denied being able to do the 4 year course, and so I can only get a bachelors and not a masters. Hopefully i'll be able to pull it up to 2:1 next year. @blackfox, dont worry about it, my lowest offer i got was AAB. most universities will take you if you miss one of the the grades (except ox, cam). you'll be fine. What course are you planning to do?

I got a cheap tv from asda, 28" non-widescreen. £140. CRT, non HD, 60Htz. They had some 28" widescreens for the same price. Anyway, most of the tv shops are pushing people to spend £500+ on a tv, when really a good old fashioned (and in someways still superior) CRT would suit people to the ground. Check you local supermarkets, both tesco and asda do cheap electronics nowadays.
