  1. For cross party games, if a company wants to put the effort in and adopt the contollers unique control style to produce a better game, it will profit them and boost their reputation. However if they feel that its not worth spending the extra develoment time on adapting, nintendo shouldn't cut off the games. They need all the 3rd party support they can get, all the consoles do. We may even get more 3rd party support for the controller with the shell, as they are more likely to include the rev in the developement cycle. Its a good thing that the shell is available, and its a good thing that its not sold with the main controler, as it puts a little pressure to adapt.
  2. The gun looks cooler, and makes the game far more immersive. That can only be a good thing right? Yes the origional controller works well as a gun, but thats saying a keyboard controler works well as a steering wheel. Yes it get the job done, but its alot more fun using a streering wheel attactment and pedals. Its why arcade time crisis games have a light gun rather have a joystick. Plus all the x-box fanboys will think they look cooler holding a gun than a remote control. Good idea about emailing them, i hope they seriously consider/already have prototypes of the gun and steering wheel, and the shell looks as cool as the mockup.
  3. It was a very good well written article. It not only the new genres that im looking foward to, but also the controllers implementation into the new genres, breathing a new lease of life into what are getting quite generic games. Its a shame that most of my favourite games that have been new or mixed genre have done badly at sale have not had remakes, or worse had sequels that have become more generic to suit mass markets. Battlezone by activision was a perfect example. Nintendo seem to have more of these cross genre games than any other manufacture, pikmin, metroid, SSB are all fantasitally unique games. I can't wait to see what the revolution brings.
  4. Hi I was just wondering if any of you guys had heard any information about Black and white 2 being on the revolution? There was talk of a ps3 and xbox360 port, but that was before the controller when no revolution games were being revealed. Also Peter Molenuex seemed to like the controler when asked about it. Im just wondering as as soon as i saw the controller, metroid prime 3 and black and white 2 jumped into my head as perfect games to play. So have any of you heard any news?
  5. yea, being student like i was only going to be able to get one console, and before the unveiling i hadnt much hope in the revolution and i was going to get an xbox 360. However seeing the controller the revlution is now a must buy. I'll just spend the 6-12 of waiting for it playing pc games and zelda.
  6. well if a basic 360 is selling 6months before for £200, when the revolution comes out i'd probably expect the revolution to be bundeled with 2 controllers and a game (also demo disk, and retro game voucher) they've got to be cheaper than competition to get this into alot of people homes. with controllers im guessing will be £25 for nutchucks, £15 for add ons, or £10 when bought with certain games. (like bongos)
  7. lol i was no where close, i'd just thought they'd use a trackball instead of an anologue stick and maybe a screen in the controller. I underestimated them the actual controller blew me away
  8. the patents will already have been filed if they have protected it, im sure that once you've revealed something to the public your not allowed to patent it. Im guesing they have, but its easy enought to get round a patent. Lets just hope sony and microsoft choose not to copy for at least a while.
  9. Hope ninty really get some good 3rd party support, and cross platform games take advantage of the controller. If they do and they get some good publicity by the media saying the best is revolution, hopefully more people will give the rev a chance.
  10. I really hope so, hate for nintendo to put all the work in and sony to just copy it. microsoft wont, they are to generic and will just see this as gimmiky. Sony we just copy whoevers making the most money. And if they do copy I'm guessing they'll wait until they see if nintys gamble pays off with the general public.
  11. absolute genius, opens up new types of games for consoles, makes the playing experience more involved. Kudos to nintendo for having the guts to be different, they pretty much stopped me buying the xbox 360 (student = poor). Hope the general public react in the same way.
  12. the god hand in black and white 2, the game seems made for the system
  13. the silverest and shiniest probably, althought i might choose red/blue/green just to make it stand out. (esecially controllers)
  14. amazing game, simply great. wasted my life on that game. good choice
  15. Black and White 2 would be perfect for the system, and a few more fps and rts to attract casual gamers. (along with zelda, metroid, SSMB 3, mario kart, pikmin etc). basically anything on the pc that cant go on a ps3 or 360 :P
