Happenstance

Had a free shelf after rearranging comics somthought I might put out my old handhelds. Pretty sure there are some more lying around like a 2DS and possibly a Gameboy Color but I couldn't see them.

And of course I am now getting targeted Facebook ads for Edge 😆 I'm another one that was never a massive fan of Edge, I'd agree that it felt a bit too serious. I think if I went with a magazine for modern gaming at the time I bought Games TM but even that was rare. My go-to magazines as a kid/teenager were Games Master and PC Zone.

I haven't bought a magazine in years but I kind of fancy getting a subscription to Retro Gamer now.

I haven't played on my PS5 in a while so I've switched over to the PC version of P3R and am restarting so I can play it handheld. Might be a bit tedious getting back to where I was but hopefully won't take too long.

Went back to my Ally today for some newer games after spending this week retro gaming, I think the display might just be too small for text in games these days. Trying to play games like Undermine or Dave the Diver is tough. When the next round of devices come out probably next year I might have to look for something with a bit of a bigger screen like the Lenovo Legion Go does now.

What did you think of Morph's use this season? Other than some fun Easter eggs from his morphing I thought they were pretty pointless and didn't need to be added to the roster. I saw more discussion on what their powers actually did rather than the character themselves. Edit: fixing pronouns

As I said on the other page, the only problem I had (and I assume you did too) with them referencing all these comics was that I knew a lot of the twists before they happened.

Just been playing a bit of Black which I haven't played probably since it came out. It's still pretty good. Would have been interesting to see what shooters would have been like if this exploded instead of Medal of Honor and COD.

I probably still have scars on my palms from rotating the N64 control stick during those games 😆

I don't think I've played a Mario Party game since the N64. Just one of those series thats so tied to that console, era and most importantly controller for me.

Thankfully it was one I got a good deal on secondhand from someone at work so I didn't particularly lose any money. I just realised I wasn't enjoying the games. Zelda as I mentioned in it's thread the other day I was finding boring and Super Mario Wonder ended up feeling soulless, giving me none of the enjoyment I'd gotten from previous titles. I enjoyed it at the beginning until I realised I just seemed to be playing the same levels over and over again with mechanics I didn't care for.

If by polished off you mean realised I made a mistake buying them and sold them on along with the Switch then yes, yes I have 😜

Decided against going with FFVI yet again on the new Odin 2 and I'm finally going to try Suikoden V instead as I never got around to playing it.

I think I'd probably rather see them fix it rather than scrap it entirely but I guess we'll see what happens.

Grabbed myself a new handheld that I'll be using as a dedicated retro machine, the AYN Odin 2 and I think I'll use the opportunity to get back to Final Fantasy VI. It was either that or Chrono Trigger but I put a good amount of time into that a few years ago while a lot of FF6 I feel like I've forgotten.

Think I might have to buy Homeworld 3 this week. I hadn't been following it and didn't realise it was out today.

I never finished it, got very bored and dropped it.

Been on a bit of a Star Wars kick again myself recently but mines been veering more towards the comics. Finished reading the first Thrawn (canon) comic and Darth Maul Son of Dathomir. I'll be moving onto the next Star Wars omnibus next.

From what I've seen for the most part you are fine to start with just one type then if you enjoy it you can move onto more but it's fine to skip some. My plan was always to just read the main novels and the comics. I did start the first book but found the delluge of new characters a bit much to keep track of so stopped. I still plan to restart it at some point.

Not too sure on the new Superman suit for the next movie. Doesn't exactly look like it fits him right, wouldn't go under his regular clothes and they brought the shitty collar back 😭

Despite watching videos on these I don't think I ever fully appreciated how big they are! Thankfully it fits but I can't open the wings.

This week's episode of Discovery might be the most boring episode in all of Star Trek. I'm falling asleep.
