EGX 2016 (Eurogamer Expo) - Birmingham NEC 22-25 September
Jimbob replied to CoolFunkMan's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'm considering going, but changing the days i go. Sunday last year was a nightmare in terms of people there, queues etc. I'll have a think about it over the next few days. Edit: Booked a 4 day pass, and the hotel. Just need the travel to book, and the time off from work. Can do that anytime. -

Got right back into the swing of it this weekend. Had a challenge sent over, all i can describe it as is nuts. Should have taken a screenshot, but it was a night time trial in heavy rain. Felt like i was heading into hyperspace. I did finally hit level 50 on Sunday night. Still, looking forward to the possible new tracks. Have heard some are city-based, from looking at the screens they remind me of the old Project Gotham racing (the memories). And for those whom complain about Easy mode, well there is a new "Hardcore Mode" coming later this month, if not already out (as we are in February now). Traction, other assists and stability turned off.

This certainly is shocking news, came right out of the blue. @Hero\-of\-Time have hit the nail on the head, sites like Game Trailers (to us) are valuable for gaming information, but the youth want to watch the likes of Pew Die Pie* for their gaming needs. *He's an annoying piece none the less. Hopefully the people at the, now former, Game Trailers land on their feet soon. Can't believe a site like this will soon be internet history.

Things are turning interesting, messaged 2 women over the last 2 weeks and asked one out last week. Didn't hear anything, so assumed it was a no. So asked a 2nd out for a drink or two, again heard nothing so assumed it was a no. This week, both have returned messages and both said yes to a drink or two. Seemingly like buses, you wait ages for one and 2 come along at once. I'm on that plenty of fish site, wasn't having any luck on Tinder bar the spam/advertiser profiles. Got 1 tomorrow, and the other Sunday.

Adding The Walking Dead Season 2 to the list. Very emotional game, like the 1st was. Made my choices, and i'll live by them

Like @Rummy, i was also waiting for Moogle or Jayseven to post on the FB page. Still, the site is certainly speedier than before.

Finished Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, thus continuing my "complete 2 games a month" trend.

Unblock is still going for me at the moment, but for how long who knows.

Just making a start on Uncharted 2, let's see what this is all about.

Witcher 3 is done. What a fantastic game indeed.

Hmm, i didn't experience any issues myself from playing. From what i played, i got a better understanding of how the game works and plays out. It's a shame they only offered access in 3 hour blocks, would have loved to continue playing.

Sounds a lot like the PS4 equivilent of Minecraft, just different in a few ways. I'm a bit more excited about this than i am about No Mans Sky.
-
Playing the later GTA's (IV and V), then going back to the likes of Vice City, you do certainly notice the control differences. The game's not unplayable, just gets a little getting used to.
-
Neither did i from what i played last year at EGX. Probably explains why i didn't get too far.

The Tomorrow Children You can/could, according to this thread on another popular forum

Indeed, reading Gaf's thoughts on it as some have been playing today (US access today) on and off.

Got my code, EU times are good for tomorrow. Hope to see a few of you on.
-
The Beta test is a bit weird, apparently it's open for 3 days in 3 hour intervals across 3 different continents. And everyone can access each time zone. Put simply, if the US has a 3pm (PST) to 6pm (PST) slot for each of the 3 days then Japan and EU gamers can access that time as well (in their own timezone).

Oddworld: New and Tasty has creeped onto the PS Vita, it's free if you have the PS4/PS3 edition already.

I think one of the UK issues is Sky, they want people to use their services for TV/Movies etc. That's only 1 issue, the other issues rely on movie companies to stop being 20th Century and come to the 21st and realise these content restrictions do contribute to piracy (and also stop being idiots about it) I bet quite a few people would pay extra for Netflix if they got global access.
