  1. Isn't it laggy? I connected my cube to my graphics card's tv in. The picture quality was fine. But it lagged behind for .5 seconds or so.
  2. Well after you ski (cross country) with a backpack that has ~30kg stuff in it for 30km. You have a new found respect for going cross country skiing with just the stuff you actually need. And I hope that the sun won't shine too much on the winter months. December and january for example. Because it gets very cold when the sun shines. It's a lot warmer (still below zero though) on cloudy days.
  3. Install the graphics card drivers. Well there really isn't anything else I can say
  4. Summer = warm = Great Winter = snow = Great It's the time in between that sucks. Everything is wet and cold. Like right now. It snowed a nice 5cm last weekend but it rained water yesterday. As you can imagine the conditions are pretty much wet and cold as yoshiking said. Can't wait to go downhill skiing though Plus if I can get a hold of a rearwheel drive car, I'm going to set up an ice track on a lake.
  5. I thought that games would suffer a similar performance hit as they did in win98->xp (few % slower on xp) But apparently the vista is still a long way from that. How they managed to screw up aero though is beyond me. The system requirements are just plain stupid.
  6. It's a free browser, can't see anyone getting a benefit(other than the user) from those supposed 'rip offs'
  7. Ahem that's just way cooler than vista. And it doesn't require the most advanced pc available to look that good. I think that vista should be able to run games fine. Since gaming is probably the only valid reason to get it. Don't know about the beta though. Maybe you should google some user reviews?
  8. Well there was the illegal pricing of european games in the 1990's. What was that about anyway?
  9. The last agp graphics card that is of any use is 7800 GS. It's a bit pricey though. 7600GS is reasonable, had to buy one to replace 9700pro because ASUS send me a pci express mobo instead of agp one. (the old one broke and was under warranty) Can't say much about it though, other than it runs ET fine And has some horrible issues with cs1.6 some sprites appears as black boxes(e.g raindrops on aztec if you have cl_weather 1). And the colors on videos are sometimes messed up too. @Shino: I have a 512Mb version of the card. I read somewhere (think it was on tom's hardware or something...)that the 256 one is a good value for money card. Though I may be able to update my card's bios to be a full x1900xtx. But that voids warranty and I'm pretty happy with it now.
  10. It seems ok by a glance, but 512Mb of memory (or 512MHZ as in the description...)is too little. Double that and it should be fine. And the price seems to be quite good also. My motherboard alone cost almost that much I just came home from a lan party haven't had proper sleep in two days so I might have missed something.
  11. I think it might be so because it allows to use high quality music in games. Back when mp3's weren't around. And the hard drive space was a bit limited. And I'm not sure how the cpu's back then would have performed if they had to decode mp3's as well as run the game. Nowadays that's not so big a deal.
  12. Carmageddon 2 had some iron maiden on it. Just a few songs though. Quake 2 has some kind of metal on the disk also.
  13. I think that there's some sort of auto update on the site. Just be sure to use IE and disable pop-up blockers and enable active x. It's on support---> software autoupdate But if the windows doesn't pick it up I doubt that the auto update will. You don't have the drivers for it on a cd?
  14. Oh right, chemical brothers: Galvanize
  15. Chrono trigger? But the best intros are from megaman 2 and 3 on the nes.
  16. hmm a couple of songs spring to mind: the "i like to move it move it" -song that plays in madagascar (the cartoon) and the song that keeps playing in the movie "A Night at the Roxbury" can't remember the name of either one then again discos/nightclubs are the only place I actually listen them.
  17. I first thought that this(thread) was something about the idiotic swedish motorcyclist... But yeah this could turn out to be a good popcorn cinema movie.
  18. Checked some of their songs on youtube. I can't see how they resemble metallica that much, but that might depend on the songs. They do sound like an american metal band though. I've heard worse metal than this.
  19. There has also been talks that intel will merge with nvidia. Wonder what happens then...
  20. There's always time to wait. And there will be always better hardware coming out. If you want to upgrade the PC and have the money for it, you should upgrade.
  21. I have the E6300. I have thought about overclocking mine, nyt there really is no advantage that I would gain from that. It's fast enough as it is. But I think now it would be wise to see what the E6400 or the E6700 or E6600 costs now. Here's a some sort of comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2802&p=3
  22. Or just use VLC player it's legal and free. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
  23. It's macgyver! http://macgyver-tn.ytmnd.com/
  24. Well it used to be like that here too. You were allowed to have six backups of the original. But now it's illegal to convert your own audio cd's to mp3's to use on your own mp3 player. Not so sure about rest of the europe though... But I don't see the harm in downloading a radio show. As they really don't even make money by broadcasting it.
  25. in short: no. You'll need a router to get them connected at the same time. And wireless networks sucks at gaming.
