Finally got around to listing what I played last year. As usual, the PS4/PS5 were my preferred way to play my games. There was a lot of usage from PS+ this year, with me often playing through games twice to get the double platinum. There were also a lot of games that I replayed thanks to some of them getting free PS5 upgrades. Looking through the list, I actually didn't buy that many games and the ones I did buy this year were often during a sale. Games that I paid full price for were... Pikmin 4 Kirby's Dream Land DX Pikmin HD Super Mario Wonder Super Mario RPG Remastered Metroid Prime Remastered Star Wars: Jedi Survivor Gargoyles Remastered Baten Kaitos Remastered Fire Emblem Engage Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Advance Wars Remastered Grim Guardians Frogun As you can see, a lot of them are on the Switch and this is because there is no real benefit to waiting as most of the time they stay full price anyway. I did drop a few of them though. These were Advance Wars Remastered, Fire Emblem Engage, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince and Baten Kaitos Remastered. I wasn't feeling any of them at the time and so ditched them to play other games.

I'm pretty sure it's new news: these were developed by Arc System Works! Ya know, the predominantly 2D fighter guys behind Guilty Gear, Double Dragon and Dragon Ball FighterZ?! Didn't see that coming..like, at all! Always love those times I find myself surprised to learn the developers behind a game but seriously, what a get! It certainly seem like an inspired choice, at least when it comes to their approach to the art style; their games pretty much always look great!

Boy, Blowhard was a really great Duel Board, huh? Well, Duel Mode only goes downhill from here... Mr. Mover This board is already notable for having the red and blue corners be on the bottom of the board. Note Mr. Mover, the conveyer belt at the bottom of the screen. It changes direction every turn, which means, if you're unlucky, you'll go the direction you don't want to go. Also note the option to loop around in one spot on the sides. This board sucks. I'll be amazed if both matches are close. The matchups have to be this way, because the last Duel Map is a secret one, and I imagine only @Dcubed and I have it. @Glen-i VS @Dcubed @BowserBasher VS @S.C.G I'll leave it up to you when you want to duel, but I imagine Dcubed and I will duel at around 8pm.

Ordered some tat since the icon rotation has been cack for the last while. Animal Crossing coasters Mario bag DAL bag Multiplayer poster set GBA poster set Immediate regret that I didn't throw in more to get the balance nearer zero, but at least it provides some breathing room with no more points expiring until May.

Forgot to mention: Fun little time-trial racer for the PSVita. Yes, you read that right. I played a game on the best gaming device ever made again. Got the while I was fed up with FFXVI earlier this year. The grind was a little annoying as I had to crash a lot of times after finishing all the tracks. I also had to play the game for 10 hours total and fly 2500 miles. Wasn't even close to those numbers after being done with the races Anyways, still had a lot of fun with this. Been making my way through Tinykin. Completed the first 3 levels and got 100% completion on them, as well. The game goes way overboard with the pollen collectibles. Could've done with half of them and reduce the levels in size a bit. Aside from this, I'm enjoying it, though.

There's a good deal for this over at Currys that brings the game down to £31.99. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/mario-vs-donkey-kong-4283326

Yeah, that should be fine. So, 8pm, join to watch (and stream) Dean and Glen killing each other, then after we'll fight to the death, using turtles. ghosts, bombs, rocks... and whatever Shy Guys are. That sounds about right... Also, I'm here posting this now, meaning I've read all the posts, so I should be joining... on time, though I can be deliberately late if you like, for continuity. Cue Luigi's laugh... "Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh... heh-haha!"

Who told you that? It's exactly the same as Chrono Trigger - enemies all respawn after leaving and re-entering the location. And if you want to be super OP, there's purchasable equipment that you can help you with that too.

And thus, King of Pro Baseball's existence was immediately rendered pointless as soon as PP4 released

Literally an "I want to be OP" toggle in a menu.

If Glen likes it then it must be bad. I've still yet to play it. The fact that I can't grind and be OP doesn't appeal to me.

No return is great fun a very impressive addition to the game. Gutted that online has been binned but this almost makes up for it.

Gotta side with @Sheikah on this one. Just finished. Very excellent.

Thinking back, making muscle man Andrew a traitor wasn't that bad an idea, because the concept of putting thrice traitors in the dungeon would've been a silly idea, but he seems to have a bit of an abrupt personality change (but could be down to editing), so faithful could deduce he may have been recruited. I hope Charlotte doesn't get murdered. I'm enjoying her bath scenes in the evening.

Power Pros Baseball 4 JP release: 14th March 1997 NA release: N/A PAL release: N/A Developer: Diamond Head Publisher: Konami N64 Magazine Score: 54% Original Name: Jikkyō Pawapuro Puroyakyu 4 Another Japanese only baseball game, this time from the long running Power Pros series, with its bobblehead style design and rather charming graphics. I am vaguely familiar with this franchise due to a baseball player in this style appearing in the great Konami Krazy Racers on GBA. Right off the bat, this plays very much like King of Pro Baseball, aiming your bat with the analogue stick (although the cursor is much, much better) while the batter aims without a cursor. I could actually hit the ball much more, although not consistently enough to get a run. This isn’t helped by how great the computer is at fielding. Their fielders are extremely quick, so will get to your base to get your out, and that’s if they don’t catch is outright, which is a very common occurrence. I do wish these games had more practice modes where you could practice hitting as long as you want. One major feature of these games is one that has a bit too much text for me to keep up with: the success mode. This is a RPG-like mode where you pick choices for training and relaxing as you slowly become a successful baseball player. It was definitely an interesting mode, but one with a big translation barrier – for Japanese-speaking players, this is probably a great mode. Remake or Remaster? I don’t know enough about baseball games, but they are testing the waters with a new game. Official ways to get the game. There is no official way to get Power Pros 4, although there is a current version of the game on PS4 and Switch for less than a quid (no RPG mode, though).

Turok was the first console game I ever owned. Got it for Christmas along with a NINTENDO SIXTY-FOUUURRRRR! I wanted Mario 64 though, got this instead. Never realised it was 70 quid back then. I was six though. So I could never beat the first level...

Well, if I remember right, the only Spirits that don't show on the Spirit Board are the bosses from World of Light (Rathalos, etc.), and the actual fighters themselves, which you get from completing Classic Mode with each one. I assume you've already completed those. But don't forget about alternate characters like Alph, or the Koopalings. You can get those from the shop, or from completing Classic again with that specific costume. Oh right, yeah. Don't forget about the ones you can only get by fusing other spirits together. And obviously, evolve every spirit you can. If you're like @markderoos and I, and you want an actual "living Dex" of all the spirits, this means you'll have to play World of Light again to get the unevolved versions of Dracula and Marx.

And there we go, last book for Jan. I think my next scheduled omnibus releases are 27th Feb so that'll give me a month of savings and a bit of time to try and catch up on all these books.

If we'd put our heads together we maybe would have wondered if it were them because of the Cold Case game on 3DS.

But wait! There's more! Next batch of Paid DLC is... An Among Us crossover? Baby, they've got the budget for animated cutscenes and collabs now! If you can't see the thumbnail, it comes out on the 18th of December for XBox and PC. Switch and Mobiles get it "soon".

I always check the Japanese Nintendo site for the stuff they add to their Club Nintendo and just general merchandise they make, because they always seem to make really cool or interesting things. Recently they added a bunch of stuff I figured some of you might like to see (these are from the merch side of the store rather then club Nitnendo but I figured they're just nice to see:

This is literally a dream come true for me, to the point where I had to double-check I wasn't actually dreaming. Then, upon realizing this was actually really happening, I burst into tears and barely managed to pay attention to the next 5-10 minutes of the Direct! These are two of the most important games of my entire life. The first game in particular played such a huge part in shaping me both in terms of gaming (and literature) tastes and also just... generally, as a person, while the sequel improved on literally everything from the first game and remains one of my favourite games of all time to this day... Plus I've been meaning to find the time to replay them for quite a while now, so this announcement felt like it was tailored specifically for me! I sincerely can't recommend these games enough; anyone who feels even the slightest interest in checking them out should absolutely do so! I'm already planning to buy several copies to give as belated Christmas gifts to all my friends who own Switches. Here's hoping it'll also increase the chances of a Hotel Dusk/Last Window remake collection in the future... Then my DS can finally be retired for good! I dare not even start hoping for the third Another Code game they talked about back in the day to finally become reality... I'm more than happy enough with what they're giving me here. It is lovely indeed, though my heart breaks seeing Ashley crying like that... The director and character designer of the original games tweeted that he's working as art director on the remakes! And he's clearly outdone himself once again with both the wonderful box art above and Ashley's two new outfits! I feel like I'm back in my teenage years, falling in love with Ashley all over again...

For all these years, I had no idea that Platinum points expire. I also never payed too much attention to the psychical rewards you could get and just used my points on avatars, but since my points were about to disappear, I had a look at the store and ordered a bunch of random stuff. Finally, Wario masking tape lol:

Yeah they did. He was Spider-Man again for a bit while Peter was injured then once again they screwed him over so he's currently evil.
