You're not the first person to make that observation... but I actually don't think they will go for it. I think they'll stick with just the couple of guest DLC characters and that's it. The roster will be filled out with deep cuts and dodgy costumes (mostly stolen from Mario Kart Tour I reckon; get ready for Bus Driver Waluigi!). Mario Party Jamboree has 22 playable characters, and most of them are pretty series standard already (save for Ninji, who is a badass addition). Plenty left to scrape from the bottom of the barrel still! -
I think it's more likely that FairgameDollarSign will be getting heavily redesigned, rather than outright cancelled. It may also get a name change, given how much of a meme it has become. Sony have poured too much money and time into it now to just cancel it. That sunk cost fallacy is very real.

Happened to me and I clocked the URL is https://forum.n-europe.com/?app=core&module=system&controller=ajax&do=instantNotifications&csrfKey=bed63d7fb4a3b62c2b0d37a8222767b0¬ifications=0&messages=0 This suggests that something is triggering a redirect to that URL. Presumably that is supposed to be a background action though. At least that's a starting point.

Not too surprising given the other cancellations. I wonder if Fairgame$ will still make it to release? That thing got slammed just as hard as Concord and it only had a teaser trailer.
