Fierce_LiNk Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I really really shouldn't, but I keep reading this thread and getting more tempted to go out and buy this like tomorrow, especially after hearing asda have it for cheaper than anywhere else(disappointed at play.com, they usually sell stuff cheaper than Game). Do I potentially sacrifice my second year, just for this game? Maybe it'll spur me on the get my work done sooner, and get me looking forward to something, I've totally gotten over the fact it might not have a nice long life, given how awesome everyone seems to think it is!Isn't that thing with music stuff that seems to constantly pick out the same 'random' tracks because they aren't like proper random, just pseudo random or something like that, due to computers being logical they can't do random without some sort of random input, if that makes sense? It's quite fascinating, I imagine Supergrunch will know about it. Don't be a fool, son. Get this game.
fanman Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Blue storm is difficult to learn and so not a good multiplayer to bring out when friends/causal gamers come round. The control on this is really hard to get used to, which would get in the way more, cause you can't really get told.
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Cool logo on the main page. Aye, RedShell made it. Very, very nice banner.
Gizmo Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 The control on this is really hard to get used to, which would get in the way more, cause you can't really get told. On the contrary, me and my friend played this together before either of us had played it before and within 10minutes we were confident and comfortable with the controls.
Emasher Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 a quick tip: hold the controller so the buttons are facing you when turning. the only reason to ever tilt the controller forward is to tilt forward in a jump. once i realized this the controls felt alot better.
The Bard Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 *puts Fzero sound track on SD card* You know, thats not actually a bad idea. I might get this game once I have an SD card, just for that function...
Kurtle Squad Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I'll be getting this once I get a job and 360 Sonic will definately be out by then too, which I'll be getting.
Owen Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I'll be getting this once I get a job and 360 Sonic will definately be out by then too, which I'll be getting. Don't knick any jobs i want, your too close for comfort.

The controls are learned quickly.
Mokong Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I just put the "The Touch" from the Transformers Animated Movie soundtrack on my SD card, was brilliant having a race when that came on. Got to try multiplayer too, but it took my cousins awhile to get used to the controls, i had to let them try the tutorils and a bit of one player for about 30mins before they could give me a decent race in 2 player. Oh yeah, can anyone recomend for me the best trucks to use on Scotland and Canada tracks on the Platinum Cup, these are the only two i have left to get S ranks on and can't seem to get near the required score
AshMat Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Man i still lvoe this, it's the best Wii game yet!!
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Man i still lvoe this, it's the best Wii game yet!! I think the fact it got disappointing reviews acted like a blessing disguise. Most of us in this thread were expecting it to be an ok game, but it is so much, much more than that.
Guest Stefkov Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 All of you are enjoying this its making me impatient. Why is there no post on Sundays:(
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Question: Are people still 'convinced' that Nintendo are ignoring core gamers?
Hellfire Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 All of you are enjoying this its making me impatient. Why is there no post on Sundays:( Has something to do with resting, don't really understand it myself.
Serebii Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Super Excite Mode is full of hax. If it wasnt bad enough that I literally only just got the S Rank to unlock it (Pulled the star that put me at 260 on Canada through drifting over the finish line), the computer can like fly up from the slightest hill. Its insane
fanman Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Question: Are people still 'convinced' that Nintendo are ignoring core gamers? I always knew games like that were coming.
Rummy Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 One question I do have, after playing alot of Burnout Revenge, and I think it's something overlooked with the wii because it has so far been good with there not being any but...are there any sorts of loading times with this, and if so, how much/how long and is it noticeable much?
Cube Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 are there any sorts of loading times with this, and if so, how much/how long and is it noticeable much? Theres loading screens, but they aren't long enough at all - just the right amount of time to get the score and time limits (as it tells you them on that screen) into your head. So, yes, there is loading screens, but at least they've been utilised for something useful.
Domstercool Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Loading times are pretty standard and what you'd expect from a racer really. Anyone care to time? 5secs about?
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Loading times are pretty standard and what you'd expect from a racer really. Anyone care to time? 5secs about? I hadn't really noticed any loading times, none from memory anyway. So, I agree with you, just standard loading times. Nothing like Smackdown versus Raw on PSP or anything like that, thank god!
motion Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Chris Cornell - You Know My Name (from 007: Casino Royale)... BRILLIANT as a racing tune.
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I need an SD card and reader now. Is there any stores I can walk into and pick up a cheap SD card and reader? Can't be arsed to order online and wait for it to turn up.
The Peeps Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I have an SD Card but no game! My pc is capable of reading SD cards but I can't get it to work. I put it in the slot and it's definitely recognised but every time I try putting music onto it, it just freezes and doesn't do anything I hope I get it sorted before Excite Truck arrives.
