Cube Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Fallout 3 looks pretty damn depressing, and a lot like Oblivion (which I disliked...) If it helps, I absolutely hated Oblivion. I loved Fallout 3.
Bren Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 If it helps, I absolutely hated Oblivion. I loved Fallout 3. me too, but personally, i enjoyed fable 2 a lot more than fallout!
That Guy Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Fable 2 was possibly my favourite game of 2008.
McPhee Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Fable 2 was possibly my favourite game of 2008. And mine. Followed by Left 4 Dead. Everything else has been pretty average, though if i had a PS3 i'm sure Little Big Planet would sneak in there in 3rd place. I'm yet to try Fallout 3 though, much looking forward to it whenever i get around to purchasing
BeerMonkey Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 fallout 3 is the best game ive played this gen....DEFO worth a purchase
Ganepark32 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Finished CoD:W@W. That single player was kinda boring. Even the bits in the 'jungle' weren't great. Nazi Zombie thing is alright but I've only played it in single player myself but really can't see it being a big draw for me. I'll hold onto it a little longer for the online multiplayer but it's kinda annoying me with how easy my guy can be killed. For instance, I can unload an entire clip into someone online and they won't die. They take one shot at me in the chest and I'm dead. Seems fair pfft.... might just go back to TF2. So, so far in this short amount of time known as 2009, I've completed 3 360 games. Not bad.

You carried the Russian flag, got shot but then carried on to place it for all to see. Fantastic!
Ganepark32 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I thought I would have but I didn't. It just kind of reminded me of the ending to CoD4 abit except you don't get to do anything. I was expecting it to be a bit bigger, you know. You're carrying the flag but there's still loads of shooting and enemies around you still battling in real time. You're dashing to plant the flag and an enemy sniper clips you leg and down you go. Said sniper is then hit with a molotov from someone and you're helped to your feet by another comrade and limp in to plant the flag. That's how I would have had the ending. Will admit though that the last two levels were the best in the game. The second last one with the 4 artillery things took me ages to get a decent run through there. And got squashed at the end of that level the first time I did it. I just happened to be standing in the exact spot where the you-know-what falls. Only I could manage it.
Gio001 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 fallout 3 is the best game ive played this gen....DEFO worth a purchase Totally agree, so addictive.
CooInTheZoo Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Well, I left my purchases up to fate/ebay. I put a bid on two, and won Fable 2 for £20! Pretty darn happy about that. My next purchase will be Fallout 3. Promise.
CooInTheZoo Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 You can get Fallout 3 for £20 on Amazon. Are you sure? I've been checking daily, and it still says out of stock
Ellmeister Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Are you sure? I've been checking daily, and it still saysout of stock Its £50
Aalborg Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 well im well into oblivion now.. but had to spend a lot of time today getting rid of my urge to "feed".. damn annoying if you ask me.. ill do some more guild work and then finish the story line..
Dyson Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 What does 2 red lights mean, player position 1 and 3? Apparantly it means overheating but my disk drive has fucked itself all of a sudden as well. I have 12 days left on my warranty.
Shorty Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 on your 3 year rrod warranty or the whole thing? You might want to get it repaired/exchanged while you can still do it for free.
Dyson Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 On my 1 year warranty, got it 25th January 2008. Problem is, I bought it in a zavvi store that I'm unable to get to in 12 days. It's not strictly speaking an RROD, only the two left quadrants light up.
nightwolf Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 On my 1 year warranty, got it 25th January 2008. Problem is, I bought it in a zavvi store that I'm unable to get to in 12 days. It's not strictly speaking an RROD, only the two left quadrants light up. From what you put in ''How was your day'' I'd say make time to get it replaced, although I'd send it back to the manucfactor rather than zavvi. As with all the sales from them shutting might mean they can't replace it for you anyway. For now I'd leave it and see if it really is just overheating.
Ellmeister Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Just had 3 RROD so I took off my HDD and took the game out, and it started working again, played N+ and it turned off again, turned it off and tried in 5mins and now its working again >_< Not really sure what to make of it. I guess leaving a game within the console whilst taking it to uni wasn't a good idea
ShadowV7 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I have a feeling my 360 might be going at somepoint. I always hear loud noises from it every so often when I play from a disc and I get disc errors coming up when there's nothing at all wrong with the discs. I just can't be bothered having to re-buy one.
Aimless Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I guess leaving a game within the console whilst taking it to uni wasn't a good idea You could have done a rain dance for all the difference it would have made. 360s have an endemic design flaw, and whilst newer models are more reliable they're still not to be trusted. Still, it's a great machine when it isn't melting.
nightwolf Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Are xboxes meant to be really loud? I never noticed it before uni because it was never really near me whilst I was playing!
ShadowV7 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I don't think so, though at times it's been really loud for me which is leaving me a bit concerned. I really don't want to go buy another one and waste money on soemthing I essentially already have.
Shorty Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Yeah they're pretty noisy, but if you can hear it over the sound of the game or you never really noticed it til recently it might be a problem. On my 1 year warranty, got it 25th January 2008. Problem is, I bought it in a zavvi store that I'm unable to get to in 12 days. It's not strictly speaking an RROD, only the two left quadrants light up.I'd get it swapped with M$, unless you go to Zavvi and they say they can definitely do it (which they might not for the reasons nightwolf mentioned). While you're in the 1 year warranty, Microsoft will fix it for free no matter what the problem is, even if it's not 3 lights - but once you go over that 1 year, it has to be RRoD to get it fixed free. You can register to get it repaired online and print off a UPS label, then arrange online for UPS to replace it, a painless process. Although people do say that if you phone them, you can just claim it's 3 red lights at any point and they'll fix it for free, even outside your 1yr warranty.
