mariosmentor Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Seeing the amount of Hot Fuzz's getting a meager 6 makes me a sad panda.
welsh_gamer Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 In The Line of Fire A great thriller from the 90's which is much better than most of the effort's we get nowadays. Some great scenes, a brill sgript and Clint Eastwood is super cool and smooth. Maybe the fact that the assasin had a "wooden" gun is a bit far-fetched, but hey who cares when your totally into the film! 9/10
Stocka Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Seeing the amount of Hot Fuzz's getting a meager 6 makes me a sad panda. 6 means that it is a 'good' film
mariosmentor Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 6 means that it is a 'good' film Not good enough!
Cube Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hot FuzzDoesn't actually start until 20 minutes from the end. Ironically, the films primary fault is the same one of it's lead character: it just can't switch off, trying to fit middle England satire into a hole that only bombastic, high action lampoonage can fill. Where's the vacumnuss lack of character development? Where's the mindless gunplay? The meaningless blood and violence? The rediculous, bawdy dialogue? Where's the sorry excuse of a plot that was written on the bus? 6/10 I've just seen it, and I agree.
Solo Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The Number 23 Fairly entertaining if not a little OTT, Jim Carey brings out his darker side (with a slight humorous twist). The ending wasn't really surprising but none the less I enjoyed it. 3/5 Still, I was pretty freaked out when I looked at my cinema ticket again after the film...

You realise if you take the number of the day away from the number of the month you end up with 23 again (25-2).

You seen it at 20:30 - Edit Just noticed you underlined them whoops. Take away the zeros my man. Also seen it and it was alright. Nice little schizo-babble film. The scenes describing the novel were beautiful.

Yeah. I loved those, the narrating and overall feel of the book scenes reminded me of Max Payne. It's a shame I didn't manage to see it on the 23rd.
mariosmentor Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Yeah. I loved those, the narrating and overall feel of the book scenes reminded me of Max Payne. It's a shame I didn't manage to see it on the 23rd. I did I do remember after it though applying the number to anything. For example my user name and my real name added together make 23
My Buttons are Magic! Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 jawbreaker - funny movie... didnt like the ending - i think she should have gotten away with it ....meh 9
flameboy Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Green Street A gritty depiction of football hooliganism, doesn't glamourise it, which is always a good thing. Not as good as Football Factory which has Danny Dyer at his swearing best. Also Elijah Wood is never convincing, does however have a fairly decent plot, and shows how hooligans aren't just working class, so gets some marks for that. 6/10
Samdecahedron Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hot Fuzz Some people say it olny comes alive at the end, but i really loved the whole thing, and found myslef laughing at little things all the way through. It was everything i expected it to be 9/10!
flameboy Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Spinal Tap 10/10 You just can't beat it quality film and so much of it was improvised! Which makes it even better!

Monopolyman Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 82! Bloomin' 'eck, I watch too many films. Ah well, I'll just carry on. But too be fair, I think I watched and rated films more than once. Not sure if that changes anything, but, y'know, just too let you know.
Katie Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Naa it doesn't matter, you still watched them all
Stocka Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Yay I got a mention. Thanks for doing that Katie. The top 5 is ridiculous though except for Borat
Konfucius Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Wow I guess this must have been an awful lot of work to do. :yay: Very interesting though, didn't realize I watched so many films.
4q2 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Spinal Tap 10/10 You just can't beat it quality film and so much of it was improvised! Which makes it even better! Excellent choice of film. 11/10 The number 23. Unimpressed, boring, shite ending imho . 2/10 (10/2=5 and 5=2+3 = 7 quid down the frigging pan)
Fields Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Just got back from watching Hot Fuzz. I give it 7/10.
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Hotel Ruanda 9/10. Great movie. Not much else to say... but great. Closer. 8.5/10. Gets better everytime I see it. (and Natalie Portman...) Visitor Q. 10/10. Masterpiece. I think in the future they will talk about Takashi Miike like they talk about Buñuel and Lych nowdays. Legendary. Unforgettable. Visionary. This is completely ahead of it's time... Bravo.
Colin Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 The Departed - Won the important Oscars on Monday, so I checked it out today. And it definitely deserved them. Film of the past year for sure. 9/10
