Ashley Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Serenity As a big fan of FireFly, I've been meaning to see this film. Luckily, my last trip home coincided with the showing of Serenity on one of the HD Sky Movies channels. So, I managed to watch it in HD on a large Projector screen. The movie has everything that made the series great, and character developments still continue - we still have a lot to learn about everyone by the end, tho. The plot is well, written, (I don't think there are any plot-holes in it) and fight scenes are well done. GCI is fantastic, as ever. Only problem is: Wash's death seemed pointless 10/10 I agree. Perhaps it was a contractual thing... Nah it wasn't, Alan Tudyk is, like the rest of the cast, signed on for three films (two of which will probably never see the light of day). Joss Whedon has said however he would be in the other two if they ever came about. Personally I think Wash's death was important; it created a sense of panic within the group; anyone could die at any point. This is a no-holds-barred attack and there will be casualties. Plus it of course inspired Zoe to go all action chick.
Yoshiking Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Love Actually - 9/10 Very pleasant. Intelligent, hilarious, beautiful. Also mixed up with some excellent actors and marvellous performances. Falls through a few times, but it's still one of the better movies of it's genre. Very worth a watch.
Nintendork Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Born to Kill. 8/10 Well done Channel 4 for saving me from Quiz Show TV because adverts don't work anymore. Stone did a great job, Tarrantino laid some awesome seeds (even though it was apparently changed loads) Basically it's about our love of violence.. and how we can end up sympathising with serial killers. Only in America. This film has made my top 10 in one sitting.. probably sitting about 7 or so.
triforcemario Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 The Terminator. All I can say about this movie is that it is f***ing awesome. Its hard to believe it was done on only a 3 million pound budget. Its somewhat better than the second (annoying John Connor pissed me off) and it absolutly pwns Terminator 3 in the arse. 10/10.

ViPeR Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 The Terminator. All I can say about this movie is that it is f***ing awesome. Its hard to believe it was done on only a 3 million pound budget. Fierce_LiNk Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 You sir, have great taste. Give yourself a Mars bar. What? He called John Connor annoying! No way is he getting that damn mars bar. John Connor is only annoying in the third film. Which, ViPeR has decided to cast out of his mind. Please, do not speak of this film again.
The Bard Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 No, he was an annoying little shit in the second. He totally screwed up what is otherwise an immense film.
triforcemario Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 You sir, have great taste. Give yourself a Mars bar.Ta, me lo.... mate. No, he was an annoying little shit in the second. He totally screwed up what is otherwise an immense film.I fully indorse that opinion. I swear that the actor who played John Connor in T2 was castraited before the film was made.
Dan_Dare Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I'd like to throw my thoughts, full pelt if you will, into the terminator 2 debate: John Connor is a fucking annoying shit for a face. I frequently become deeply enraged by the mere prospect of having to be subjected to his bumbaclart ways if I want to enjoy an otherwise superb film. oh, and his friend has a filthy ginger mulllet.
mcj metroid Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 The Terminator. All I can say about this movie is that it is f***ing awesome. Sure i have a guy at school who thinks preditor is better than T2
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Maybe we need to take this whole Terminator 2 argument into the whole board, and not just this thread.
triforcemario Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 You Got Served. I was (unfortunatly) made to watch this film in music class, and god, it is so shit, I can't even describe it with words. I can't imagine how anyone with a sane mind woul have given the people who made that movie the 20 million it cost... I'm not suprised it's number 25 on www.imdb.com's 100 worst films list. 0/10. In other words, it didn't have any qualities what so ever.
Ashley Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Citizen Kane Good film, but does seem to drag a bit. Wasn't too bad, been shown worse in lectures. And I couldn't help but see if there was any connections to Veronica Mars (cause im sad and cause theres a business 'tycoon' with the Kane name in that). 7ish.
Monopolyman Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Patriot Games I was expecting an all out action film, but got a decent political thriller, which is just as good. Harrison Ford & Sean Bean were fantastic in it, as was James Earl Jones, who's appearance was a nice surprise. Also a very good story & script involving the IRA. You don't see many of them these days. Strongly recommend it. 9/10
Bluejay Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 What.The. Fuck. :| I thought that but decided it would be a wasted poast. Jamaican word?
Konfucius Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Deathmachine The title promises trash and trash it is. It is quite entertaining though but it tries to be scary as Alien but isn't and it tries to be action like and unstopable like Terminator but isn't either. So it's two hours of mindless action with no suspense, clever dialogue or any reasonable plot I could follow... 5/10
Dan_Dare Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I thought that but decided it would be a wasted post. Jamaican word? yes. Just saw Casino Royal, and my it's fantastic. really is top range Bond on a par with GoldenEye
Yoshiking Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 The Pacifier: 5/10 Got this as a joke for my birthday. I'm undecided. Part of me realizes how bad this movie is, but the other part has trouble overlooking the fact that though silly, it was still enjoyable in some way. I think it was the somewhat believable characters and the fact that Vin Diesel is surprisingly good in this (his acting, I mean).
Monopolyman Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Carlito's Way Brilliant film. Fantastic ending. It's a good old fashioned 'ex-con trying to go straight' story, but told so well and some of the scenes are just so intense, such as the 'incident' on a boat, which makes the film so gripping. I won't give away too much, but I strongly recommend it, especially if you love gangster films. 9/10
ViPeR Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 What? He called John Connor annoying! No way is he getting that damn mars bar. John Connor is only annoying in the third film. Which, ViPeR has decided to cast out of his mind. Please, do not speak of this film again. There was no 3rd film... It ended with Terminator 2 got it! As for John Connor being annoying, well I wasn't too bothered by his performance personally. If we compare him to other child actors he did a good job. He could have been another Anakin Skywalker... *shudders*
MunKy Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 OldBoy Fucking awesome, seriously twisted and damn beautiful in its own way. Highly recommended. 10/10
nekunando Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Casino Royale.. not gonna give it a rating.. but LOVED it.. usually never talk much about a film after I see it but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.. as soon as it started up I could see it was gonna be great!
Haden Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Braindead literally hillarious 10/10 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braindead_%281992_film%29
