Olympic Gamer Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Cloverfield Havent seen one movie since strangely, but I found it highly unique and entertaining. I was glad to see the monster was not based off an existing monster from another story (Although it was kind of based on a figure). Ending wasnt so desirable, never stayed beyond the credits so have no idea of any possible hints left after them.
Coolness Bears Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Serenity I watched this last night i had been meaning to for ages. I enjoyed it and thought it was pretty good Sci-fi Movie! Needed more Summer Glau though! 4 and a half Bears out of 7!
Roostophe Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Mr Bean's Holiday There was no way I was going to hate this, so I obviously enjoyed it. The scene in the cinema towards the end is fucking hilarious. 9/10
gaggle64 Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Police Story Includes a scene were Jackie takes a shower. Great thighs. Jackie Body Factor: 5 Meals on Wheels Includes a scene where Jackie has an intense and very sweaty morning workout with his flatmate before both donning a T-shirt. Fantastic abs. Jackie Body Factor: 8 Miracles Jackie keeps modest in a beautiful silk suit and trilby. He sure can use his hands though. Jackie Body Factor: 2 Revenge of the Dragon Includes a scene where Jackie strips to his waste and pulls 200kg of flour around while sweating like a beast. Incredible shoulder muscles. Jackie Body Factor: 8 The Accidental Spy Includes a scene where Jackie runs butt naked through the streets of Istanbul. Amazing ass. Jackie Body: 9 I would go gay for Jackie Chan. And you would too.
Chris the great Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 brining down the house BLACK PEOPLE! WHITE PEOPLE! MEGA LUL'S!
Caris Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Epic Movie. It was fucking terrible, i was embarrassed watching it and i was the only one in the room. 3/10.
Slaggis Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Final Destination 3 Watched it whilst a little drunk, and it was even better. I love this film, and the others too. This is the best one so far though. 8/10
Cube Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Blood Diamond Didn't really know what to expect, all I remembered was seeing awful trailers from when it hit the cinemas. The film was very enjoyable, and the characters were great. It also touches on some real issues. 9/10
Deathjam Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 The Fifth Element Can't remember how many times I have watched this film but each time I see it, I like it just that little more. Great, crazy 90's action flick. May hunt this down on dvd when I can be bothered 9/10
Happenstance Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Brick Really interesting movie, I always enjoy mysteries and this was a pretty good one, although I will admit I had a hard time keeping up with some of what the characters were saying it didnt really ruin it. Very nicely shot and some good performances from the actors. 8/10
Daft Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 10,000 B.C. Truly there has never been a film quite so awful. It had the production values of an episode of Smallville. It is the disfigured love child of Apocalypto and 300. 2/10
Happenstance Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Zodiac Another very good movie. I thought it made it all the more interesting that it was a true story. Good acting again and I loved some of the shots, there was one where the main cops first turn up which looked like it was pulled from Sin City. 8/10
Roostophe Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life Hilarious. Not the best Python film, but it's still funny. The best moment is the "Isn't It Awfully Nice To Have A Penis?" song. 8.5/10
Paj! Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 A Mighty Heart I love it when I see Angelina Jolie in a good role. Though the ending was kindof spoilt by the fact that this is a true story, and you therfore know what happens, she was great. Tense in parts, and genuinely sad. 7/10
Slaggis Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 The Brave One If Jodie Foster is in a film, it always ends up being good and this was no exception. I loved it. A great story, with the characters being set up well and it was one of those movies that really made me think about the subject it was handling. The ending was good too. 8.1/10
Jimbob Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls Brilliant sequel starring Jim Carrey as the Pet Detective who makes a mockery of his clients. This time, he is in Africa finding a bat. Humor throughout, typical Jim Carrey style as well. 9/10 The Condemned Stars Stone Cold Steve Austin, brilliant and brutal movie complete with violence, blood and explosions. Basically, movie is about 10 convicts on an Island who have to kill to be last man/woman alive to get off the Island alive and free. Better than i thought it would be 9/10 Thirteen Please, i want my hour and a half back. This was the most disturbing thing i have ever seen in a long time. Basically it is about a 13 yr old who is an A-grade student and her move into taking A-grade drugs and basically being a slag. It has self harm. And my mate who showed me the movie says it is her favorite movie, how????. I can't give it more than a 2/10, and it only got a 2 because the music was ok.
Slaggis Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 The Hitcher (2007) *I don't paticularly like the original* I have NO idea why this got such crappy reviews from most places. I have to agree with one of the only good reviews I read, which was in The Times. Some great characters, and a couple of nice changes from the original, like the woman becoming the main character. They definitely made a good choice with Sophia Bush as the lead, I really like her as an actress and she's great in this. Sean Bean was also great as the Hitcher. Like the original, I really like the storyline, and the whole framing the victims thing. It adds alot of tension to the movie and sets it apart from the usual slasher flick. The ending was also better then the originals. 8/10 Captivity (The less gory version) It was alright, but it started out really slowly. When it picked up I vaguely enjoyed it but now I think about it nothing really happened throughout the movie until the ending. Girl is stuck - finds out man is also stuck - crappy twist - the end. 5/10
chairdriver Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Planet Terror 10/10 The most entertaining film I've ever seen. "Permission to fuck has been granted." I literally clapped when the guy attaches the gun to her leg. Like actually taking "Fuck you, and die" to a whole new level as she kills a room of men in one leg sweep. I loved the crazy nurse aswell. I don't want to give too much away, but it was literally planning ahead. Honestly, just see it. One of the best films I've ever seen.
welsh_gamer Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Executive Decision Kurt Russell and co must stop terrorists who have highjacked a plane, from detonating a bomb in USA airspace, by sneaking onto their plane and taking them all out. Very enjoyable and David Suchet is awesome as the main villan. 7/10 Run Fat Boy, Run Pretty funny stuff, but not memorable. 6/10 Duel Steven Spilberg's first feature film, about a truck driver who terrorises a salesman on the highway, by having a cat and mouse chase. Suspensful at times, it had a Hitchcock feel and there were many fantastic shots. 7/10
shaq365 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Grindhouse Hadn't seen Planet Terror on its own so really enjoyed the first half - what a classy film! Certainly felt you were getting value for money with a 3 hour runtime. Some of the fake trailers were great as well and I'm glad to hear they're making Machete into a full film! 8/10

So you dislike it for the content, not it's quality, then? It's an excellent movie, and disturbing...what's wrong with disturbing? Makes you think.

I watched it a few weeks ago (Just planet terror, the other one didn't really appeal) and I loved it. One thing though, I didn't expect so much random blood! It was incredible. The start with the guy from lost and the whole balls thing was awesome. Not one of the best movies I've seen, but definitely the best "Zombie" movie I've ever seen.
Jimbob Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 So you dislike it for the content, not it's quality, then? It's an excellent movie, and disturbing...what's wrong with disturbing? Makes you think. There is nothing wrong with disturbing, only because my mate who showed me the movie self-harms as well, overdoses now and then. Last time she overdosed, i personally picked her up from the hospital. The content disturbed me, and as for the quality of the movie well, what can i say except it confused me in many parts.
