Dcubed
Amazing video! I can't believe that I didn't even cotton onto the merchandising opportunity Nintendo have with Tokyo 2020! The chance for brand awareness is mental! Couple that with the inevitable Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (where they may even be involved in the visual design of the actual real life event and all) and... Oh, but it gets even better... Nintendo Land is due to open in Universal Studios Osaka that year as well! The opening ceremony for Tokyo 2020 will be one to remember for sure! Ronnie
And people call Nintendo irrelevant. Mario segment starts at 2:55 but don't miss the highlight at 9:35 (turn the sound up)
Glen-i
And people call Nintendo irrelevant. Stop it, Ronnie. This is a nice little thing going on and I don't want to see it devolve into another "You VS Them" scenario. Not this time. No-one here seriously thinks Nintendo is irrelevant. It's hard to sympathise with you when you say stuff like that. It gives the impression that you're trying to score points. It's the equivalent of going up to someone's face and shouting "Ha! Told you so" It doesn't make you look good. So anyway, you ever get one of those moments where you think to yourself, "Man, I am such a nerd?" Because when I saw this... ...I instantly thought of this I really want Ninty to go all in on this. Get a whole bunch of their characters promoting Olympics. Link on Archery, Mario on Long Jump, Samus on... Sailing, because someone has to be on the sport no-one watches. Obligatory Waluigi GIF time! Pestneb
Fairly annoyed at Nintendo right now. Basics.. When I bought mario maker my nephew created levels on his NNID but on my Wii U. When he got his Wii U he lost all those levels he had made (he could only download them as creations from another user) but was able to make new levels, star my courses and comment on them. All good. Then I tried to star a course of his a little over a month ago, and I can't.. because he is using the same Wii U as me. really? He has a Wii U basic, which lives in the UK, I have a Wii U premium in France. Really pissed off because this is one of the few ways we were able to keep in touch, sending each other comments on new courses and of course enjoying each others creations. I can still play his levels, but really annoys me that I can't star his best creations. So I contacted Nintendo enquiring about all this.. they asked me to allow 3-7 working days... it's now been 30 working days no response. Just sent them another email but it's REALLY annoying me now. At least they could get back to me and let me know what is what. But my nephew was really pleased to get a wii u at christmas because he could play splatoon and mario maker with me. Well his net connection is too poor for splatoon and now mario maker won't let us interact. I don't think he plays the thing any more, I can't blame him. I still have splatoon but mario maker doesn't get touched now, and I won't until they sort this issue out for us.
Dcubed
Rather interesting tidbit here... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1269225 Nintendo just acquired JESNET, a Japanese distributor who... well... distributes! Supposedly they specialised as Nintendo's distributor of retail goods in Japan. So it seems that Nintendo want to bring everything in-house now, from development, to marketing, to development, to debugging. Are Hatina next? Wouldn't surprise me TBH! Nicktendo
Maybe try contacting Nintendo UK? Gave them a call yesterday after having no luck in town. Managed to get the Wii U charger and the gamepad one for £40. Bit pricey but there was no other option. Cheers mate.

Nicktendo
This is related to the Wii as opposed to the Wii U, but anyway, my new monitor obviously doesn't have a component input and I want to hook my original Wii up to it. Has anyone had any experience using one of these before: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Camac-Converter-Output-Upscaler-Adapter/dp/B007PY3ZPG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474479057&sr=8-1&keywords=camac+wii+to+hdmi Obviously there are loads of good reviews on there, but I'd rather get the opinion from someone in our respected community before biting the bullet, if any of you have used one
Rummy
I've not used one of those HDMI adapters but my mate has one - I'll ask him his opinion on it and let you know if he gets back to me.
Hero-of-Time
According to Gameseek UK the end is nigh for the Wii U. Nintendo is now taking final orders on Wii U consoles. Those that haven't ordered by the end of next week (Friday September 30) will not be able to order the Wii U again from Nintendo. Is this Nintendo's last roll of the dice with the Wii U so they can plan to give retailers details about the new hardware next month? Is something exciting due to be announced in October? killthenet
Not a surprise, but still a shame. Basically means that Nintendo have no expectations for BOTW to be a Wii U system seller, think the Wii U version is going to be even rarer than Twilight Princess on GameCube. RIP Wii U Edited September 23, 2016 by killthenet

He said it was that sort of thing for a few quids of the amazon - he feels like it did as good as a component does, so...that's the best I can give you in absence of any other comments here! Not a surprise, but still a shame. Basically means that Nintendo have no expectations for BOTW to be a Wii U system seller, think the Wii U version is going to be even rarer than Twilight Princess on GameCube. RIP Wii U Any real surprise? It's too late in the dead console's life to be trying to get system sellers espesh with NX round the corner - besides which I'd daresay BotW's already done as much system selling as it was going to with what's happened to it(I bought the Wii U knowing I'd get Smash, Zelda, and possibly another Xenoblade even though I never actually bought XCX). I really fucking hope there's a decent print of BotW on Wii U though. If that becomes hard to find too fast people are going to be far more pissed off than I think they'll expect. It's windows 10. Don't hold me to this(especially as I don't know Windows 10) but I believe the devices are just bluetooth and with a cheap bluetooth dongle/adapter(or, if you already have bluetooth, just that) you should be able to find something out there to make the pads work with the computer. Is it a PC or laptop as the latter is likely to already have a bluetooth adapter in it?

Londragon
It's a pc and I want something just to plug in, without software changing (toshiba thing). Funnily enough I just set up my 2 Wii U Pro controllers on my PC with Windows 10 about 2 days ago. Windows 10 now makes it easier than ever to set up. No Toshiba Stack, just a cheap USB bluetooth dongle, and the WiinuPro/soft download. It literally took me 3 minutes to get it all downloaded and running. Kounan
Can you, please, send me a link for some usb bluetooth dongle? Rummy
No worries! I just wasn't sure if you'd looked into the adapter side of things, besides which I never knew it'd be as easy on 10 as Londragon said! I'd probably suggest ebay or so for the Bluetooth adapter - but may be worth checking with @londragon on his advice?

I bought this one; http://24h.pchome.com.tw/prod/DCAD02-A74354692, but it's from a Taiwanese web seller, but I'm sure most will be fine. I hear Kingston is a damn good brand. FireMeowth
So the day has finally come... Thanks to the wonders of LEGO Dimensions Wave 6 (and its huuuge content downloads), I'm almost out of space on my Wii U! I'll have to get a USB storage device before Wave 7 is released (thankfully I have about a month and a half, so no real rush), and considering I'm pretty much clueless about what's good or not, I figured I should ask if anyone here has recommendations. I'm sure I don't need anything too big or expensive considering how long it took me to fill out the 32GB...
