Ezio is boring, but then so is everyone else in Assassin's Creed. Except Haytham and that guy who writes the codex entries.

This game should star a Brit.

He was awesome! Best thing about III for me. Hopefully his dad will be just as good.

Yesterday, numerous leaks hinted at the game's existence and offered up a few extra details - that the game is set in 1715 and stars a pirate assassin named Edward Kenway - father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor from AC3.

Bringing another Creed game onto the current gen consoles, i was thinking it would be a launch for the next gen. If they make it for the next-gen Xbox/PS4 then i may get it for that over the current gen.

And pirates, now i can see why the Naval missions were in III. Loved them.

I wonder if they'll build it for next-gen and scale it down. I'll pick up my pirate on PS4, me thinks.

The reports have said that it was built for the 360 then ported over to everything

Serebii posted the trailer in the other thread eight hours earlier, and nobody seemed to care then, either.

I'm pretty tired of this constant stream of Assassin's Creed, too. I haven't even had a chance to play Liberation yet!

... And yet I know I'll buy this. :blank:

Edit: I just noticed that the two threads have reversed icons.

It's not very exciting because it doesn't reveal anything new or show off any gameplay.

I care. I think it looks great. I just can't see it with sound at the moment.

I'm not tired of the series and I know I'll buy the LE on day 1.

I think the inclusion of ocean travel makes it different enough to not be "tired".

I too have it pre-ordered, for the Wii U, so will have it day one...though I'll probably be busy still

Some screenshots appeared to have leaked, courtesy of NeoGAF

Do note, the first ACIII screens were of higher quality than the game's graphics too

Edward Kenway Introduction trailer

I wish this series still involved a modicum of stealth. It's just turned into location porn.

Considering those are bullshots, it definitely doesn't look next gen. I'll pick it up after giving ACIII a miss...because that game looked super uninspired.

Edit: If anything deserved the 'this is killing gaming' branding it's this series.

So in the WiiU version of this thread Seribi has posted some leaked screens that show off some of the gameplay elements, plus a shorts video about Edward Kenway, the main character.

This is the problem with having two threads for the same game. It's silly!

I think we should go all out and have three threads.

One for the people who love Nintendo, one for the people who hate Nintendo, and one for people who think Nintendo is alright sometimes but makes some stupid decisions.

Black Flag will be the first Assassin's Creed game developed for the next generation of consoles, although Ubisoft was coy on what to expect.

"Visuals enhancements are the most obvious difference. We'll also be supporting the new PlayStation 4 controller," Myhill teased, hinting at a controller-specific feature.

"We're going to be revealing all the details of that [in the future]. "The feature is built for the PlayStation 4 controller, but we're also looking at other controllers too."

At an event in London last week, Ubisoft showed gameplay footage that looked current-gen in terms of graphics.

"It's very early in development so that is the state of the game," Myhill explained. "It's not console-specific at this time. We're building on PC right now, but we do have it running on all platforms."

Interesting. I wonder what the difference will be. With eight studios being employed to make this game there's hope that the high end version will be worthy of their machines.

After reading the Eurogamer article, I'm now really looking forward to this. An explorable ocean and jungle sounds amazing.

Each detail i hear of this makes me want to play it more. Was talking to a few friends over the weekend, they seem very interested in it thats for sure.

Well having not seen the confirmation about this I was just buzzing when an advert popped up on tv! I really need to catch up. Still got to play Revelations even though most would say it could be avoided.... I love this series just they always got cheap fast.

Okay, now I care about this game.

"From AC I it was the open-ended set-up. We wanted to make sure we [bring back] this feeling of liberty that the player had when they had an assassination target and could decide, ‘Do I go stealth? Do I go sneaky? Do I go Rambo-style? Do I go across the roof and do air assassinations?' This kind of liberty feeling that you can do the missions the way you want—we want to make sure it's there in AC IV, too.
