Shorty Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Haha, you did it in the end though and now you have a spare USB 3 drive and £30 in your pocket :p You could swap the HDD covers like we used to with different coloured n64 controllers and have two-tone PS4s.

That's a sound idea! Might actually have to give that a try to see what it looks like. It's interesting how they've managed to make some changes to the console. The hard drive cover is more of a matte finish, which does match the rest of the console. However, there is something that I quite like about the black one being shinier. Also, no touch buttons on the white console for power and eject!
Eenuh Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 And of course I have been given the crappy, old TV to use. We had to attach it to its stand with tape (and putting coaters underneath one side) to keep it standing up. :P Downloading some games overnight so we can properly test it tomorrow. The only annoying thing at the moment is that I can't access our downloaded games on my account on the secondary PS4 now.

Also, no touch buttons on the white console for power and eject! The button changes are a revision to the console in general across all colours, think there was a bug where the touch button would cause random disk ejections. It's also lighter, uses less power and has a smaller light.
Happenstance Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Yeah ive heard quite a few complaints about the eject button on the original PS4s. Thankfully I never use mine and eject using the controller so ive never come across it.
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Apparently the eject button randomly working was down to the plastic expanding due to the heating of the console, therefore covering the touch button, which would lead to the disc being ejected. Interesting. We'll be probably heading online a bit more often now. Feel free to join us, N-Europeans if you do see us playing something together!
Hero-of-Time Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Open beta for PvZ2. PvZGW2 launches its open multiplayer beta beginning January 14 and ending January 18. This is open to all PS4 and Xbox One players – here are just some of the highlights of the Garden Warfare 2 multiplayer beta: - Enjoy the Backyard Battleground (we’re saving tons of great content and plenty of surprises for launch!), and play our King of the Hill-inspired mode, Flag of Power, where you can jump into the action right away and experience an immersive and escalating battle. - You’ll also get to try out six new PvZ character classes, as well as a returning roster of your favorite characters from the original Garden Warfare. - Jump into our 24 person multiplayer modes – the new Herbal Assault and Gardens & Graveyards - You’ll be able to play across four distinct maps – Moon Base Z, Frosty Creek, Z-Tech Factory, and Seeds of Time. I usually don't bother with demos/betas but I may have to jump in on this. I LOVE the first game and looking forward to the sequel. Its crazy that something this daft is probably one of the best balanced shooters i've ever played.
Rummy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 More of a PS3 question but what would people say is a fair price for a 320GB slim these days?
Shorty Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Weren't they being sold in HMV last month for £45 or something? I'd get a second hand one personally.
Rummy Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Oh yeah I meant second hand - just seen an advert on work e-noticeboard dealie of one going for about £90 with TLOU, Fifa 12 and GT5. I don't need it, but I was thinking of grabbing it and selling to someone who might - just no idea what sort of price it should be going for/could go on for!
Hero-of-Time Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Weren't they being sold in HMV last month for £45 or something? I'd get a second hand one personally. Yeah, there was kind of fire sale at the store at Oxford St. They were selling off their 12GB Super Slim PS3s for the price you mentioned. @Rummy the best bet would to have a quick look on eBay and see how much the same models are going for on there.
Rummy Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Buy-it-nows seem around the 70-90ish mark depending on included tings, but wasn't sure how well they sell at that. Might watch a couple auctions see what they end up at. For all I know the thing's gone by now, but I might pass regardless as I'm not sure if I've got anyone I could shift it to anyhow. Back to PS4 stuff - does anyone else out there have Worms Battlegrounds? Me and my mate were chilling t'other day so I bought it on a whim for £4, but it seems for a game that's been out a while there isn't very much out there or even a thread here! Can't complain for four quid espesh as we had a chuckle with a few matches, just wondering why it never had much about it - was after a guide/FAQ to answer some questions and surprised to see no such thing exists. Maybe not too surprising as it isn't exactly groundbreaking on the worms formula, but it's got some differences to it I'm not wholly used to yet.

My nephew bought it and was trying to get me to do the same. I was sitting in party chat with him while he was playing it and I couldn't stop laughing when the worms voice came through the headset.
drahkon Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Tempted to get Worms, but not sure if it's worth it..basically all of my friends who like video games are abroad, live quite far away or don't have a PS4. So every multiplayer option is rendered useless, because I think Worms is a game to play with friends
Rummy Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) I mean for £4 I'm sure it can't be terrible, but I'm not sure I'd have bought it if my mate hadn't been around nor how much I'll bother with it otherwise. Found it a bit strange(though it's been a while since I've played any worms games) in that the weapons/utilities available seem slightly randomised, and there's a ton which we had no idea what they did. On top of that there seems to be an option to 'buy' the weapons with coins, though I've no clue where said coins come from. There's also some special worm types which I don't wholly know what they do, but the fat one seemed fun at least. EDIT: Decided to make a thread. Any mod/admin's able to just shift the couple posts over into it? Edited January 8, 2016 by Rummy
Hero-of-Time Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2) arrives next week. Dark Cloud 2 will be the latest PS2 title to receive the emulation treatment for PlayStation 4 next week, with Level-5's RPG sequel coming soon. Known as Dark Chronicle in Japan and Europe, the second Dark Cloud isn't connected to the first game in narrative terms, although you can pick up the original Dark Cloud on PS4, being as it was one of the first titles for the console's PS2 emulator. Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle will be coming to PlayStation 4 via the PS2 emulator, complete with trophy support, of course, on 19th January 2016, as confirmed on the PlayStation Blogcast.
Blade Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I got an email from Sony this morning saying that as PSN was down on 4 Jan 16 then an extra day will be added to my Plus subscription. I have to input a code. Did anyone else get this?

bob Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Nice gesture, but inputting a code seems too much effort for like 10p worth of reward. Can't be arsed.
S.C.G Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Nice gesture, but inputting a code seems too much effort for like 10p worth of reward. Can't be arsed. You could log into the Playstation Store on your PC instead, cut/paste code from e-mail, redeem, done! : peace: It's marginally less effort that way in any case.
bob Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 My time is worth more than that. I'm an important guy.
Retro_Link Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Yeah for a one day extension I couldn't be bothered either :p
Happenstance Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Well I redeemed mine! Thank you Lord Sony.
Rummy Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I got the email but was out so haven't done anything about it yet, think I definitely will as I was actually trying to play my PS4 for most of that afternoon with very little joy!
