Hero-of-Time Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) Spoiler I was surprised that Hit got taken out. I thought he would have lasted a little longer against Jiren. I hope Vegeta knocks out that stupid love obsessed character. She is really starting to annoy me now. In other anime news, I sat and had a marathon session of Boruto, yesterday. I'm now all caught up. Loving the series so far and i'm interested to see just how far they can take it. In the new opening the kids are wearing Leaf Village headbands, so it looks like they are finally going to do some proper training and get into some real scraps. The best fight so far was the one involving Sakura and Sarada. Spoiler Lovely stuff. Edited October 15, 2017 by Hero-of-Time
Jonnas Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Spoiler Is it weird that I'm finding Goku's fight with Caulifla & Kale more enjoyable than his fight with Jiren? Man, these have been fun episodes we've had lately.

Man, these have been fun episodes we've had lately. I don't care for either of them. They're the Brock Lesner in the DBS universe. They've had everything handed to them on a plate and I hate how powerful they've become in such a short space of time. Spoiler How they hell is their fusion going to last? From the looks of it, Kale's Broly form was insanely powerful ( even Jiren took notice ) and now they've fused, surely it can't last long? Goku and Vegeta went blue and fused and it burnt out super quick, so this had to be the same, right? Freiza was fantastic in this weeks episode. I love him being in this tournament.

Man, these have been fun episodes we've had lately. Spoiler Probably because Jiren has no personality. The most he's talked when told some to get lost.* It's kind of hard to care about him. Also he has a bland design. Not that Kale and Califa are much better. I don't understand why they made the U6 Saiyan designs so slim and undefined. Kefla just looks like Kale. 21 minutes ago, Hero-of-Time said: I don't care for either of them. They're the Brock Lesner in the DBS universe. Spoiler There's 21 minutes left, chances are they aren't going to last that long anyway. Blue drains a lot of ki/stamina (not sure if they are both the same, they've been referring it as stamina a lot this arc), I don't think they've stated how much a drain Legendary Super Saiyan is, but I'd guess it's not as much considering it's meant to be the true Super Saiyan form. Unless being in the void realm somehow prevents the fusion ending sooner. Shouldn't they have been disqualified anyway? Although Zeno allowed Roshi to use the jars... And yes, Frieza continues to be the best. Was he going to attack Goku after Goku stopped him going after Caulifa & Kale? 1
Sméagol Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) Do any of you know of any modern series similar to Haibane Renmei by any chance? Edited November 5, 2017 by Sméagol
bob Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Finished watching Death Note on Netflix just now. It was pretty good. Could have done with being about 10 episodes shorter though, it did drag.

Plus, it has mechs in it which makes it instantly better.
Sméagol Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I haven't finished Death note. I found it boring if I remember correctly.. I may try to finish it later. I forgot Netflix removed the anime series, and replaced it with a "Netflix original" western remake. Anyway, either there are no modern series similar to Haibane Renmei, or nobody here knows what I'm talking about..

Anyway, either there are no modern series similar to Haibane Renmei, or nobody here knows what I'm talking about..Yeah, I don't think I could have watched Death Note straight off, it gets very laboured and dull ("Having to explain the logic of each and every decision made by the main characters gets boring). I watched an episode each day while doing the washing up, so it helped. Not sure what I'll watch as my washing up program now. Might take a break from anime.
martinist Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Anyone want a Crunchroll guest pass? I'm sick of these just piling up and expiring.
drahkon Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Spoiler Ultra Instinct is back. Really looking forward to the next episode. Here's hoping Goku can sustain it for longer.
Ike Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Spoiler Felt sorry for Krillin, almost had his wife fuse with 17.
Hero-of-Time Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Spoiler The stupid bint has finally been knocked out!! Chuffed to bits as she was doing my head in. When Goku landed that Kamehameha I was like... 1
drahkon Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Spoiler Son Goku is a beast. I want him to fight Jiren as soon as possible. Will be interesting to see what happens when they both go all-out.
Ike Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Hopefully we'll get to see some other fighters fight for a while.
Kav Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Spoiler I’m glad both Caulifla & Kale are gone, such annoying characters. I absolutely want Jiren to kick Goku’s ass, Jiren is far too badass - I don’t want him to lose at all.
Jonnas Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Spoiler Sad to see Caulifla go. I've liked how she and Kale turned out, and it's good to see them go out with an awesome fight, at least. Between them and Hit, I hope the arc ends with the universes being restored. Meanwhile, Jiren continues to be too stoic for his own good, though I think they're keeping his true motivation a secret. In the manga (which has actually given him more of a personality), he was going to refuse coming to the tournament because he couldn't stand being responsible for killing innocents, but changed his mind when he learned he'd get a wish with the dragon balls. I just hope he comes clear with that soon, because the Anime version of him right now is just a bland obstacle for Goku to overcome.
Hero-of-Time Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Spoiler Woohoo! Another annoying character has now been knocked out! It was great seeing 17 & 18 getting in on the action. I was worried that 18 would get knocked out but was happy to see that wasn't the case. The final attack they pulled off was awesome. The part with Vegeta trying to unlock Ultra Instinct was hilarious. Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if he unlocks the attacking component of it. Goku has only learned how to use it to defend, so it would be quite cool if Vegeta learns the other side of it. 1
Julius Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) News from the end of last month which I was genuinely a little surprised to not already see here! At the Natsume Soseki Memorial Museum at Waseda University in Tokyo, Hayao Miyazaki reportedly revealed what will, in all likelihood, be his final film (but for real this time guys: Suzuki has been talking about how he’s worried Miyazaki might not live to complete this, and job descriptions even describe it as his final film): Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiru ka (How do you live?). It was previously believed that Miyazaki was planning to make a feature length version of the CG anime short he’d been working on for the Studio Ghibli Museum, Boro the Caterpillar, in time for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, but the time period for How do you live?’s production is “three or four years”, which could take us past that point. The film was first pitched by Miyazaki last year, but has yet to be officially green-lit. The film shares its title with a book of the same name by Yoshino Genzaburo, which is about a second year junior high school boy, Copel, who through various experiences and the guiding of his uncle begins to learn how to think for himself. The book was primarily used as an introduction to the social sciences, but its content leans heavily on Marxist economics andsocialist philosophy. It paints an interesting social picture of Tokyo in the 1930s, with a huge disparity of wealth between its inhabitants. Themes of bullying and moral education are also covered. Contracts for animators were tagged with a starting date of October 1st, so the film’s production might already be under way. It was revealed in May that Miyazaki had 20 minutes of storyboards completed. Edited November 28, 2017 by Julius Caesar 1
Emerald Emblem Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) So I caught up with the One Piece Anime and now I'm sad, I about 1 1/2 to 2 years and not a lot happened compared to my last bulk watch. Edited November 27, 2017 by Emerald Emblem
Shorty Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 Yeah One Piece anime has always been slow but for me it's too much now. I actually gave up on it last time I decided to catch up, which I would never do before.Every episode you have to skip 10 minutes of recap and opening, then what you do get repeats itself, then drags, constantly switches between scenes, you only get about 30 seconds of progression on the main story. If any series could do with some kind of supercut of each season, it's One Piece.
Happenstance Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 I'm still slowly working my way through One Piece. I think I'm on episode 325 so still quite a way to go! 1

This love-talk was so annoying...but it's over now Vegeta's attempt was indeed hilarious Android 17 and 18 make a great team. Can't wait to see their next fight.
