Well, it's nearly that time for the busy games season, with plenty of games that could be good such as: Mafia 2, Metroid: Other M, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Halo: Reach, Pokémon Black and White (for importers), Dead Rising 2, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, Rock of the Dead, Medal of Honor, Fallout: New Vegas, Vanquish, Pro Evo 2010, Fable 3, Lego Universe, Rock Band 3, Star Wars: Force Unleshed 2, Epic Mickey, Move Tron: Evolution, Gran Turismo 5, GoldenEye 007, Kinect, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, LittleBigPlanet 2, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Sonic Colours, Conduit 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns and more.

So, which ones will you be pre-ordering or picking up at launch day? And will you picking up any others at a later date or renting them?

At the moment, my rental list consists of six games (Shopto seem to be the cheapest and seem like the most reliable, too):

3rd September: Metroid: Other M (Wii). I love Metroid. I love Ninja Gaiden, so I can't refuse a Metroid game created by Team Ninja. Plus it looks like a lot of fun. I'm just not sold on the controls yet.

14th September Halo: Reach (360). I'm not a massive Halo fan, and I don't care about the Halo universe. However, the games are a blast in multiplayer and everyone else is getting it.

22nd October: Fallout: New Vegas (360). I got so many hours out of Fallout 3, so it would be criminal not to buy New Vegas.

29th October: Fable 3 (360). As much as I complained about the second (mainly due to a game destroying glitch then my HDD containing two completed saves with no backups failing), I enjoyed it. I need to complete it twice (again) before this is out, though.

12th November: Sonic Colours (Wii). I really enjoyed the Sonic levels in Unleashed. This looks like those parts with some non-gimmicky additions.

19th November: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (360). Criterion make brilliant racing games. 'Nuff said.

All-in-all, I think it's a good mix. The majority of the games mentioned will probably end up on my rental list. I really want a guitar controller so I can try out Rock of the Dead.

17 August: Ys Seven Limited Edition (US Import)

Comes out today but VGP hasn't shipped it yet oddly. The LE is pretty cool, includes the soundtrack, artbook and a cloth map!

3rd September: Metroid Other M

It's Metroid so instant buy for me. Haven't played the Ninja Gaiden series before though.

21 September: Etrain Odyssey 3 (US Import)

UK release looks unlikely so I'm importing. Also comes with a nice artbook as a preorder bonus.

8th October Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light

Not bad for £17.99. I'm getting a bit put off the FF series but I like the graphical style.

17th October: Phantasy Star Portable 2

Not a big fan of the Universe series but the Portable versions are pretty decent. Not sure if that is the official release date mind.

15th October: Ivy the Kiwi

It's was cheap so I thought why not. Looks pretty good.

29th October: Sims 3 (Xbox)

For my sister. Might get cancelled though, originally bought the PC version but my PC had problems running it even though it met the requirements but we got a new motherboard 2 weeks ago and now it works.

Other preorders I have but don't have release dates, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Zelda: Skyward Sword and the 3DS.

Also since I'm working again might preorder some more stuff so this may include Sonic Colours, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future or whatever the new title is, the new Blazblue and maybe a few others. I have a feeling Colours and Blazblue might drop in price shortly after they are reeased though so I might hold off.

Only games on my list for this year are Fable III (29th October) and Brotherhood (November). Thats about all for me, i may get Goldeneye though.

I'm not usually one to buy pre-orders but this year I'm definitely going to try and nab these two:

October 29th: Fable 3, I loved the first two, regardless, I've always had a soft spot for fable and I'm excited to see how fable 3 will be and if Peter finally lives up to hype.

October/November: There's just been announced a collectors edition for Cataclysm (WoW expansion) and I'm dying to get my mits on it, I've not even had a chance to play the beta, but by god it's all I've been looking forward to this year.

All I wanna know is when the fuck is Wii Party out? I don't care what you pansies say, that game is gonna rock!

And I may get the Eye of a Golden nature - although that may involve me having to buy more controllers (unless it uses GC pads....does it?)

Wii Party is out in Europe on October 8th.

Only have Dead Rising 2.

Amazon had it on 22 punds for pre-order way back in February.

Only pre-order I have seen that is worth it...

I just had the misfortune to be curious enough to watch this

Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to go and find a fork so I can stab myself in the eye as punishment.

I'll be buying :-

Professor Layton and the Lost Future- could well be the last 'brand new' game on the DS that I buy before the 3DS' launch, and I love the series.

Call of Duty Black Ops - I much prefer the Wii remote + nunchunk combo rather than a traditional controller for my online shooters, so this should be replacing Modern Warfare Reflex this November, as my most addictive game.

Goldeneye 007 - didn't play much of Goldeneye's multiplayer modes back in the day, as I prefered The World is Not Enough, but I adored the single player campaign. Probably see a short and sweet campain this time around though, but I'm hoping for some addictive online action.

Donkey Kong Country Returns - Loved the DKC series back on the SNES and it's great to have some fresh 2D platformers to choose from these days.

Epic Mickey - looks promising, and it has 2D and 3D segments just like Galaxy 2! :bouncy:

I joined Lovefilm last week, so I could mainly rent some 360 games, as I tend to sell them once I'm done with em' so will be renting the main bulk of what's released Oct/Nov on 360, along with Metroid Other M, Conduit 2 and Wii Party.

The families in these commercials looks so "wholesome" it makes me wanna puke.

The dad looks like he'd rather have a stroke than play that game. If you pause at just the right time you can see the light in his eyes flicker out and die, just before he cracks a smile at his wife who he desperately wants to be younger, blond and with bigger tits.

The game is surprisingly not too bad (not watched the commercial though). And I won when we played so go team me! Then I played it again later on in the day because the woman designated to show it off was all alone so I thought I'd join in :santa:

14th September Halo: Reach (360). I'm not a massive Halo fan, and I don't care about the Halo universe. However, the games are a blast in multiplayer and everyone else is getting it.

22nd October: Fallout: New Vegas (360). I got so many hours out of Fallout 3, so it would be criminal not to buy New Vegas.

I also have those pre-ordered. I'm not a massive Halo fan either, but the multiplayer beta was tons of fun! Everything seems to have been improved dramatically. The campaign looks decent too (better than ODST's anyway.) I'm a massive fan of Fallout 3, so I can't wait for New Vegas! Once I saw the Collector's Edition, I knew I needed it. I went for the PC version though, as it's cheapest.

Apart from that, the only other game I have pre-ordered is Dead Rising 2. I loved the first, but wasn't sure on the sequel. However, once I saw a trailer with a motorbike with chainsaws attached to it, I was sold.

I'm hoping to get Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (if it makes it out this year) and LittleBig Planet 2 on thier release dates too, although for me money is tight right now. Oh, and I'd love to get Rock Band 3 with the Fender pro guitar, but that'll be expensive!
